The phosphonate fertilizers, Calphos （calcium phosphonate）, Magphos （magnesium phosphouate） and Phosphoros （potassium phosphonate） were used in Jordan and showed a nematicidal effect. This study aimed to investigate the fungicidal effect of these fertilizers against the growth of the fungi, Fusarium proliferatum, Altrenaria solani, Pythium debaryanum and Penicillium digitatum. Results showed that the phosphonate fertilizer Calphos at the concentration of 1% mixed with potato dextrose agar （PDA） totally inhibited the growth of all studied fungi. Magphos （1%） delayed the growth of the fungus F. proliferatum and inhibited the growth of other tested fungi. While Phosphoros （1%） mixed with PDA inhibited the growth ofA. solani and P. digitatum even after 12 d of incubation and delayed the growth ofF. proliferatum and P. debaryanum compared with the growth of the fungi on the PDA only.

High-nuclearity silver（Ⅰ） clusters have attracted considerable attention not only owing to their structural diversity, but also due to their potential properties reflected in the field of fluorescence, magnetic, electrochemical, gas sensing and separation. Here, phosphonate ligands as structure-directing components have been employed to construct four new high-nuclearity silver（Ⅰ） sulfide-ethynide-thiolate clusters, in which silver（Ⅰ） aggregates tBuC≡C?Ag3, tBuC≡C?Ag4 and 2 tBuC≡C?Ag7 are bridged by tBuS-ligands to engender respective silver（Ⅰ） ethynide-thiolate clusters functioning as integral shell components, which are supported by phosphonate ligands. In each silver（Ⅰ） sulfide-ethynide-thiolate cluster, a different encapsulated silver sulfide cluster serves as a core template.

As an important class of inorganic-organic hybrid materials, metal phosphonates can exhibit versatile structures, interesting functions and high water and thermal stabilities. Despite a large number of metal phosphonates reported in the past two decades,the development of chiral metal phosphonates is still in its infancy. This review summarizes the current status in this topical field including the synthetic strategies, the crystal structures of chiral metal phosphonates reported thus far, and their physical and chemical properties. Future challenges in this promising field are also discussed.

The peculiar isomer-selective reduction of(α)-hydroxyiminophosphonates(oxime isomers)into(α)-hydroxyaminophosphonate(hydroxylamine)derivatives is presented.A library of 16(α)-hydroxyiminophosphonates is prepared and studied via a unique multifaceted approach involving the interplay of NMR,XRD,MS,IM-MS and computational chemistry *** combination of NMR,XRD and HPLC enables the seamless separation,identification and quantification of the oxime isomers(E/Z).Tandem MS(MS/MS)enables the determination of the fragmentation patterns for both *** energy breakdown curves highlight the order of apparition of the fragments as well as their related energy of fragmentation,demonstrating that the strength of the C–P bond in the Z isomers is much weaker than in the E *** chemistry demonstrates that favorable protonation site is isomer-dependent with the phosphonate moiety being the favorable protonation site for the E isomers,while protonation occurs preferentially on the amino moiety for Z isomers regardless of the phosphite *** combination of these various methods led an unprecedented level of characterization of oxime isomers,providing a better uderstanding of the isomer-dependent behavior of(α)-hydroxyiminophosphonates.

The first palladium-catalyzed method for the arylation of α-phosphonovinyl nonaflates is described. Using a catalyst comprised of Pd（OAc）2 and SPhos, terminal and internal α-aryl vinylphosphonates could be efficiently ac- cessed under mild conditions. The reaction features a broad coupling partner scope and tolerates many functional groups.
