Effect of the repeated melting of mother ingot on the stability of icosahedral phase precipitated from Zr-Al-Ni-Cu-Ag glass

Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) shows that repeated melting of mother ingot improves the stability of icosahedral phase (I-phase) precipitated from Zr65Al7.5Ni10Cu12.5Ag5 glass. The Kissinger analysis of crystallization implies that the effective activation energies for the precipitation of I-phase and its decomposition considerably increases due to the repeated melting of mother ingot. Repeated melting of mother ingot refines ingot microstructure. Because of structure heredity, the size of the short-range orders (SROs) in the glassy alloy produced from the mother ingot with finer microstructure becomes smaller, which makes the rearrangement of atoms more clifficult, and the I-phase more stable.

Construction of protein-protein interaction network based ontranscriptome profiling of ovine granulosa cells during thesheep＇s anestrus phase

Background Small antral follicles as the final reserve of folliculogenesis, are existed throughout the reproductive life span of sheep. However, the ovarian cycles of ewe cease in the anestrus phase. This study in thus was aimed to elucidate the ovarian small antral follicles transcriptome in the ewe’s anestrus *** Granulosa cells of small antral follicles (#3 mm) were collected from ovaries of anestrous ewes under long days of summer in the non-breeding season as anestrus phase. Transcriptome profiling of these granulosa cells were obtained using the RNA-Seq technology. An integrative analysis was utilized to identify key regulatory genes whose may have potential impacts on intra-ovarian molecular *** Globally, 14506 genes were expressed whose higher expressions were belonged to genes that encoded ribosomal proteins. Top significant terms of gene ontology were pertained to protein translational processes. Apart of this, most of highly significant terms were also relevant to apoptotic process through extracellular vesicles, including apoptotic bodies and exosomes. Regarding to node effect property, UBA52 (ubiquitin A-52 residue ribosomal protein fusion product 1) and RPS5 (ribosomal proteins S5) contained in highest out-degree and in-degree, *** Our data suggest that ribosomal mRNA/proteins could make the granulosa cells undergo a lot of changes from the point of view that ovarian activities are ceased in the anestrus phase.

Microstructural characteristics of intermetallic phases in spray-deposition Al-8.5Fe-1.3V-1.7Si alloy

Analysis electron microtechnique (AEM) and high resolution electron microtechnique (HREM) studies were conducted on a spray deposition Al 8.5Fe 1.3V 1.7Si(mass fraction, %) alloy to determine the characteristics of the intermetallic phases. The results show that the striking characteristics of the microstructures in as deposited and as extruded alloys indicate the presence of a large amounts of homogeneously distributed fine particles and a few coarse particles, while small amount of eutectics consisted of α (Al) and α AlFeSi are found in local zone in as deposited alloy. The fine particle is identified to be bcc α AlFeSi phase, and the coarse particles are monoclinic α Al 13 Fe 4 equilibrium phase, bcc α AlFeSi phase and newly found hexagonal h AlFeSi metastable phase. In α Al 13 Fe 4 , stacking faults on (100) and (001) plane and microtwin on (100) twinning plane are frequently observed. The extra reflection spots in α AlFeSi reflection pattern can be induced by α AlFeSi superstructure. The hexagonal metastable phase transforms to bcc phase, and the compositions of two phases are very similar. A close crystallographic orientation relationship between hexagonal and bcc phases are determined, and HREM image shows that the interface between them is coherent. [

Atomic Scale Computer Simulation for Early Precipitation Process of Ni75Al6Vi9 Alloy

The atomic scale computer simulation for initial precipitation mechanism of Ni75Al6V19 alloy was carried out for the first time by employing the microscopic diffusion equation. The initial precipitation process was invest igated throughsimulating the atomic pictures and calculating the order parameters of the two kinds of ordered phases. Simulationresults show that the γ′ordered phase precipitated earlier than θ ordered phase by congruent ordering+spinodal decomposition mechanism and thus produced a nonstoicheometric γ′ single ordered phase. Then, the nonstoichiometricθ phase precipitated by a non-classical nucleation and growth mechanism at the APBS of γ′ phase.
