With the increasing complexity of electrical vehicles(EVs),the wide-speed-range high-efficiency characteristics of EV drive motors are in strict *** this study,the variable magnetic flux effect is introduced into a permanent magnet(PM)motor,and a variable magnetic flux permanent magnetic(VMF-PM)motor is ***,the flux is adjusted flexibly to synchronously broaden the speed regulation range and high-efficiency ***,an efficiency analytical model is developed considering the motor speed,current,and flux *** is indicated that by the purposeful design of the variable flux leakage topology,the efficiency under high speed can be improved based on a theoretical investigation of the high-efficiency *** addition,based on finite element analysis,the performances before and after optimization of the key parameters of the VMF-PM motor are investigated,including the flux variable characteristics and efficiency ***,a prototype motor is built and *** theoretical analysis and experimental results confirm that based on the assistance of the variable magnetic flux effect,the motor high-efficiency region is broadened effectively,providing a potential research path for designing a wide-speed-range high-efficiency motor.

The aim of this paper is to present the eddy current losses in solid pole shoes in a permanent magnet two-pole electric motor. In the presented paper, the authors have chosen to work with three different analytical models, Carter’s theory, Gibb’s theory and Lawrenson’s theory, each with different degree of accuracy and simplifications. The results from the analytical models all present relatively low eddy current losses, giving the designer valuable arguments to utilize solid pole shoes, as a rotor with solid poles is from a construction point of view a more suitable choice, increasing the mechanical stability and reducing the production cost, compared to the laminated design.

This paper explores some design parameters of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor that contribute to enhancing motor *** geometry parameters such as magnet dimension,machine diameter,stator teeth height,and number of poles are analyzed to compare overall torque,power,and torque ripples in order to select the best design parameters and their ***,an open-source software,is used to design and optimize the motor for electric vehicle *** optimization with Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm(NSGA-Ⅱ),two designs A and B were obtained for two objective functions and the corresponding torque ripples values of the design A and B were later reduced by 32%and 77%.Additionally,the impact of different magnet grades on the output performances is analyzed.

Due to low damping ratio, fiat permanent magnet linear synchronous motor＇s vibration is difficult to be damped and the accuracy is limited. The vibration suppressing results are not good enough in the existing research because only the longitudinal direction vibration is considered while the normal direction vibration is neglected. The parameters of the direct-axis current controller are set to be the same as those of the quadrature-axis current controller commonly. This causes contradiction between signal noise and response. To suppress the vibration, the electromagnetic force model of the flat permanent magnet synchronous linear motor is formulated first. Through the analysis of the effect that direct-axis current noise and quadrature-axis current noise have on both direction vibration, it can be declared that the conclusion that longitudinal direction vibration is only related to the quadrature-axis current noise while the normal direction vibration is related to both the quadrature-axis current noise and direct-axis current noise. Then, the simulation test on current loop with a low-pass filter is conducted and the results show that the low-pass filter can not suppress the vibration but makes the vibration more severe. So a vibration suppressing strategy that the proportional gain of direct-axis current controller adapted according to quadrature-axis reference current is proposed. This control strategy can suppress motor vibration by suppressing direct-axis current noise. The experiments results about the effect of Kp and Ti on normal direction vibration, longitudinal vibration and the position step response show that this strategy suppresses vibration effectively while the motor＇s motion performance is not affected. The maximum reduction of vibration can be up to 40%. In addition, current test under rated load condition is also conducted and the results show that the control strategy can avoid the conflict between the direct-axis current and the quadrature-axis

The hollow-cup permanent magnet(PM) motors have the characteristics of low power consumption, and are widely used in the aerospace field. At present, the tile-shaped PMs used by hollow-cup PM motors have poor sinusoidal characteristics of the air gap magnetic flux density waveform, which will cause torque ripple. The existing method for improving the air gap magnetic flux density waveform is not very effective when applied to hollow cup, a special motor with no stator core and large air gap. A bow-shaped PMs structure is designed for the hollow-cup motor in this paper. First, the equivalent surface current method is used to calculate the analytical formula of the static magnetic field of the model. Then, the Finite Element(FE) method is used to calculate the static air gap flux density waveform of conventional tile-shaped PMs and bow-shaped PMs with different bow heights, and the corresponding harmonics and sine distortion are obtained by Fourier decomposition. The simulation results show that the bow-shaped PMs can effectively improve the sinusoidal characteristics of the static air gap flux density waveform. And the suitable bow height is determined. Finally, a prototype is made based on the suitable bow height for experiments, and compared with the analytical result and the FE result, and the accuracy and effectiveness of the bow-shaped PMs with the suitable bow height are verified.

A strong robustness open-circuit fault diagnosis strategy for novel fault-tolerant electric drive system based on d-q-axis current signal

To diagnose the Open-Circuit(OC)fault in the novel fault-tolerant electric drive system,based on d-q-axis current signal,a strong robustness diagnosis strategy is proposed and *** independent power supplies and converters are required in the novel fault-tolerant electric drive system based on Dual-Winding permanent magnet motor(DWPMM),and the system’s reliability,usage ratio and power density have been improved compared to the conventional fault-tolerant motor drive ***,the novel fault-tolerant electric drive system has the OC fault diagnostic false alarms issue when load changes suddenly or under light-load *** it lacks the research on the diagnostic method when the system encounters intermittent OC fault in power *** theory derivation,simulation and experimental verification,it can be concluded that the proposed strong robustness OC fault diagnosis strategy based on d-q-axis current signal can overcome the OC fault diagnostic false alarms issue when load changes suddenly or under light-load *** it can detect and locate the OC fault of single-phase winding in real time,and diagnose the intermittent OC fault of power switches.
