Analysis and Improvement on a Mobile payment Protocol with Outsourced Verification in Cloud Service

Mobile wallet is a very convenient means of mobile payment to allow the clients to conduct the payment via their mobile devices. To reduce the computation burden of resources-constraint mobile devices, a few mobile wallet protocols with outsourced verification in cloud computing were proposed. But in some of the protocols, there exist the risk of a colluding attack of the customer and the untrusted cloud server. In this paper, we propose an improved protocol, in which the payment information is protected by Hash function and random number. The malicious customer and cloud server cannot change the payment information to conduct a collusion forgery attack to defraud the merchant. The security analysis indicates that the proposed improved protocol can enhance the security in terms of correctness, unforgeability and traceability without increasing the computational burden.

Background:This study examines the effect of adopting cashless payment in five European Union(EU)countries,namely,Austria,Belgium,France,Germany,and Portugal,for the period of 2000-2012.Methods:The within and between effect of adopting cheque payment,telegraphic transfer,card payment and electronic money on these EU’s economy are examined by applying the Pedroni residual cointergration and Panel Vector Error Correction Model(VECM).Results:There is short run causality running from cheque payment to telegraphic transfer and card payment,as well as causality running telegraphic transfer to card payment.In the long run,there is significant effect of adopting cashless payment on the economy of the five EU countries.Conclusions:The adoption of one type of cashless payment will affect another type of cashless payment in the short run.The impact of adopting cashless payment on economic growth can only be significantly observed in the long run.Hence,any policy that promotes cashless payment will not affect the economy immediately.

This paper uses household panel data to explore the impact of mobile payments on China's household business activity.Using a difference-in-difference fixed effect specification,Ifind that mobile payment users are more likely to operate small-scale and self-employed informal businesses.The impact of"using mobile payment primarily derives from the transition of agricultural families to business owners and the development of informal businesses.The paper illustrates an associated increase in employment and income,for family members,with more pronounced effects on low-income and rural households.It also provides prima facie evidence of the increase in fund transfers,which is important for risk sharing that informnal businesses may encounter.

Background:In response to the high financial burden of health services facing tuberculosis(TB)patients in China,the China-Gates TB project,PhaseⅡ,has implemented a new financing and payment model as an important component of the overall project in three cities in eastern,central and western China.The model focuses on increasing the reimbursement rate for TB patients and reforming provider payment methods by replacing fee-for-service with a case-based payment approach.This study investigated changes in out-of-pocket(OOP)health expenditure and the financial burden on TB patients before and after the interventions,with a focus on potential differential impacts on patients from different income groups.Methods:Three sample counties in each of the three prefectures:Zhenjiang,Yichang and Hanzhong were chosen as study sites.TB patients who started and completed treatment before,and during the intervention period,were randomly sampled and surveyed at the baseline in 2013 and final evaluation in 2015 respectively.OOP health expenditure and percentage of patients incurring catastrophic health expenditure(CHE)were calculated for different income groups.OLS regression and Iogit regression were conducted to explore the intervention's impacts on patient OOP health expenditure and financial burden after adjusting for other covariates.Key-informant interviews and focus group discussions were conducted to understand the reasons for any observed changes.Results:Data from 738(baseline)and 735(evaluation)patients were available for analysis.Patient mean OOP health expenditure increased from RMB 3576 to RMB 5791,and the percentage of patients incurring CHE also increased after intervention.The percentage increase in OOP health expenditure and the likelihood of incurring CHE were significantly lower for patients from the highest income group as compared to the lowest.Qualitative findings indicated that increased use of health services not covered by the standard package of the model was likely to have caused the increase in financial b

The present report is chiefly based on the project that proceeded from Sep 1st,2005 to Oct 30th;2005.It aims to solving the delayed payment and better satisfies the customers’ needs.In the project,SWOT analysis,questionnaire survey,CHS,brainstorming activities,a series of related credit policies and supervision systems are used in problem identification and analysis.The getting arrear strategy,the plan of activities were worked out with time-scale and implemented accordingly.By analyzing the data(results)collected from the implementation,it shows that the project has proved its hypothesis and achieved its goal and objectives in a significant way and the delayed payment solving is a useful approach for the company to get "safe cash flow".

Building a Methodology for the Design of an Environmental Services payment Programme for the Mangroves of Mexico

Environmental Services payment Programmes are not entirely new and they are more flexible than the usual command-and-control type of regulation. In the 1990s for example, an Environmental Services payment programme was introduced to cope with the forestry system and pay benefits to farmers for the good that their forests would produce. This review examines the possibility of using Environmental Services payment programmes for Mexican mangroves as they are an important resource against natural disasters, and reducing greenhouse gases in the Earth’s atmosphere, for example, and they are constantly invaded by the human race which impacts on their destruction. The review aims at constructing a methodology that can be applied to the implementation of Environmental Services payment programmes. The value of this study is in aiming a straight arrow at the environmental problems outlined in this paper, problems that have not been fully resolved to date, especially in Mexico where it is not officially recognised that mangroves play an important role in the mitigation of greenhouse gases. Furthermore, Environmental Services payment Programmes in Mexico have not pinpointed specific types of area. We conclude this paper with elaborating on our ten-point strategy for implementing Environmental Services payment programmes which includes, in brief: 1) Fully accepting the importance of the mitigation of greenhouse gases via mangroves;2) designing a Environmental/Ecosystem Services payment Programme with particular emphasis on Mexican mangroves;3) identifying specific environmental services and their level from local to international;4) formation and implementation of a system of “whoever benefits must pay”;5) building of a knowledge base of owners and others who benefit from environmental services;6) hypothetical models of particular Environmental Services payment programmes must be constructed;7) clarifying who must pay;8) grouping all sectors that must pay;9) inspiring all actors to cooperate via 10) the impact of a Citizens’ C

Evaluation of the inclusive payment system based on the diagnosis procedure combination with respect to cataract operations in Japan------A comparison of lengths of hospital stay and medical payments among hospitals

Following the recommendations of a report submitted by the Central Social Insurance Medical Council concerning the 2002 revision of the Medical Service Fee Schedule, a new inclu-sive payment system, which is based on the Diagnosis Procedure Combination (DPC) sys-tem, was introduced in 82 special functioning hospitals in Japan, effective beginning in April 2003. Since April 2004, the system has been gradually extended to general hospitals that satisfy certain prerequisites. In this paper, the new inclusive payment system is analyzed. Data pertaining to 1,225 patients, who were hospital-ized for cataract diseases and underwent lens operations from July 2004 to September 2005, are used. The lengths of hospital stay and medical payments among hospitals are com-pared. Even after eliminating the influence of patient characteristics, there are large differ-ences among hospitals in average lengths of hospital stay and DPC-based inclusive pay-ments. The highest average inclusive payment is 3.5 times as high as the lowest payment. On the other hand, there are relatively small differ-ences in non-inclusive payments based on the conventional fee-for-service system—the larg-est deviation from the average of all hospitals is approximately 10%. Thus, although payments based on the DPC account for only one-third of the total medical payments for this disease, the major differences in medical payments among hospitals are caused by differences in their DPC-based inclusive payments. The results of the study strongly suggest that revisions of the payment system in Japan are necessary for the efficient use of medical resources in the future.

Profit-Maximizing Strategies for an Artificial payment Card Market. Is Learning Possible?

In this paper, we study the dynamics of competition in the payment card market. This is done through a multi-agent based model, which captures explicitly the commercial transactions at the point of sale between consumers and mer-chants. Through simulation, we attempt to model the demand for payment instruments on both sides of the market. Constrained by this complex demand, a Generalised Population Based Incremental Learning (GPBIL) algorithm is applied to find a profit-maximizing strategy, which in addition has to achieve an average number of card transactions. In the present study we compare the performance of a profit-maximizing strategies obtained by the GPBIL algorithm versus the performance of randomly selected strategies. We found that under the search criteria used, GPBIL was capable of improving the price structure and price level over randomly selected strategies.
