There have been several results that illustrate the best performance that a network can get through cooperation of relay nodes. For practical purposes, not all nodes in the network should be involved at the same time in every transmission. Therefore, optimal partner selection protocols in cooperative wireless networks are believed to be the first important thing that should be paid attention to. This problem in our article is considered in the context of regenerative nodes and non-altruistic cooperation （no pure relay exists; all nodes have their own data to transmit）. For each transmission, the protocol must provide the user （source node） a ＇best partner＇（relay node） to cooperate with （for network simplicity and less transmission signals here, assume that each user has only one cooperative node）. A criterion is essentially needed when defining what a ＇best partner＇ is; in this article, two factors, i.e, the successful transmission probability and the transmission power, are considered. Three optimal partner selection strategies with different goals are proposed and analyzed respectively. The simulation results show that these are all supposed to be good tradeoffs between power consumption and transmission performance.

partner selection is an active research topic in agile manufacturing and supply chain management. In this paper, the problem is described by a 0-1 integer programming with non-analytical objective function. Then, the solution space is reduced by defining the inefficient candidate. By using the fuzzy rule quantification method, a fuzzy logic based decision making approach for the project scheduling is proposed. We then develop a fuzzy decision embedded genetic algorithm. We compare the algorithm with tranditional methods. The results show that the suggested approach can quickly achieve optimal solution for large size problems with high probability. The approach was applied to the partner selection problem of a coal fire power station construction project. The satisfactory results have been achieved.

The key problem in the construction of virtual enterprises (VEs) is how toselect appropriate partners. The negotiation-based approach is proposed to support partner selectionin the construction of VEs. The negotiation model is discussed from three main aspectsrespectively, i.e., negotiation protocol, negotiation goal and negotiation decision-making model.And the generic mathematical description of the negotiation model is formally presented. Finally, asimple example is used to validate the approach's availability.

Studies up to now have shown the difference in partner/spouse selection between men and women of ethnic minority groups overseas but lack in-depth exploration of the reasons behind such selection.This study aims to fill the gap by exploring the different types of motivations that drive men and women of ethnic minorities to select their partners/spouses.Using quantitative and qualitative data,we compared partner/spouse selection dynamics and motivations among overseas Chinese men and women.Our study on Chinese people living in Belgium reveal significant gender differences in spouse selection between men and women,with more women likely to go in for intermarriage than men.In our interviews,we found that the underlying motivations for women’s preference for intermarriage lie in their fondness for Western family culture and their desire to make the host country their permanent home.We also found that in their partner-spouse selection,women were less influenced by social norms or pressure from parents and family,which are the main factors driving endogamy.Although the gender ratio in the marriage market is more or less even,cultural factors and possible different adaptation methods of men and women prompt Chinese people to consider or reject their compatriots as suitable partners/spouses.

partner selection is a fundamental problem in the formation and success of a virtual enterprise.The partner selection problem with precedence and due date constraint is the basis of the various extensions and is studied in this paper.A nonlinear integer program model for the partner selection problem is established.The problem is shown to be NP-complete by reduction to the knapsack problem,and therefore no polynomial time algorithm exists.To solve it efficiently,a particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm is adopted,and several mechanisms that include initialization expansion mechanism,variance mechanism and local searching mechanism have been developed to improve the performance of the proposed PSO algorithm.A set of experiments have been conducted using real examples and numerical simulation,and have shown that the PSO algorithm is an effective and efficient way to solve the partner selection problems with precedence and due date constraints.

This paper analyzes the state of the art of partner selection and enumerates the advantage of partner selection based on gray relation analysis comparing to the other algorithms of the partner selection. Furthermore, partner selection system based on gray relation for an Agile Virtual Enterprise（AVE） is analyzed and designed based on the definition and characteristics of the AVE. According to J2EE mode, the architecture of the partner selection system is put forward and the system is developed t^ing JSP, EJB and SQL Server. The paper lays emphasis on a gray relational mathematic model, AVE evaluation infrastructure, a core algorithm of partner selection and a multi-layer gray relation selection process.

The partner selection and optimization problem is an important area of virtual enterprise（VE）. Genetic algorithm GA is optimization and parallel strategy simulating biology evolutionary mechanism in nature and a high efficient algorithm solving these types of problems. After analyzing the partner selection problems of virtual enterprise, the improved genetic algorithm（IGA） was presented to solve enterprise alliance problem within reasonable time and cost. There are certain number partners of each sub-task in virtual enterprise environment. The objective is, by selecting the optimal combination of partners, to minimize project’s completion time and project’s total cost. A set of experiments show that the algorithm is stable and presents low variability. We analyze the laboratory results to show that the improved algorithm has better characteristics than standard GA when it was used in partner selection problems.

Cooperative communication has characteristics of spatial diversity and virtual antenna,thus it can improve communication efficiency significantly in cellular or wireless data networks.One of the essential design issues in cooperative communication is partner selection mechanism.The problem of selecting suitable partners for a cooperative strategy is more complex when prospective partners have links of dissimilar quality to a central destination,leading to the possibility of non-reciprocal cooperation.In this paper,we consider a coded cooperative system under Rayleigh fading and path loss.We present a novel algorithm for partner selection and optimal power allocation in the Decode-and-Forward （DF） cooperative diversity that minimizes the outage probability given required total transmission power constraint.We evaluate the proposed algorithm by conducting simulations.Simulation results show that the selection strategy can increase duration of cooperation,as well as decrease the probability of unsuccessful partner selection.The results demonstrate that the outcomes of the proposed algorithm are very close to results of full search for optimal set.
