Capable of flexibly supporting diverse applications and providing computation services, the Mobile Edge Computing (MEC)-assisted Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) network is emerging as an innovational paradigm. In this paradigm, the heterogeneous resources of the network, including computing and communication resources, should be allocated properly to reduce computation and communication latency as well as energy consumption. However, most existing works solely focus on the optimization issues with global information, which is generally difficult to obtain in real-world scenarios. In this paper, fully considering the incomplete information resulting from diverse types of tasks, we study the joint task offloading and spectrum allocation problem in UAV network, where free UAV nodes serve as helpers for cooperative computation. The objective is to jointly optimize offloading mode, collaboration pairing, and channel allocation to minimize the weighted network cost. To achieve the purpose with only partial observation, an extensive-form game is introduced to reformulate the problem, and a regret learning-based scheme is proposed to achieve the equilibrium solution. With retrospective improvement property and information set concept, the designed algorithm is capable of combating incomplete information and obtaining more precise allocation patterns for diverse tasks. Numerical results show that our proposed algorithm outperforms the benchmarks across various settings.

Multi-object tracking based on behaviour and partial observation

To cope with multi-object tracking under real-world complex situations, a new video-based method is proposed. In the detecting step, the moving objects are segmented with the third level DWT （discrete wavelet transform ）and background difference. In the tracking step, the Kalman filter and scale parameter are used first to estimate the object position and bounding box. Then, the center-association-based projection ratio and region-association-based occlusion ratio are defined and combined to judge object behaviours. Finally, the tracking scheme and Kalman parameters are adaptively adjusted according to object behaviour. Under occlusion, partial observability is utilized to obtain the object measurements and optimum box dimensions. This method is robust in tracking mobile objects under such situations as occlusion, new appearing and stablization, etc. Experimental results show that the proposed method is efficient.

Recently we developed partial-observation supervisor localization, a top-down approach to distributed control of discrete-event systems（DES） under partial observation. Its essence is the decomposition of the partial-observation monolithic supervisor into partial-observation local controllers for individual controllable events. In this paper we extend the partial-observation supervisor localization to large-scale DES, for which the monolithic supervisor may be incomputable. Specifically, we first employ an efficient heterarchical supervisor synthesis procedure to compute a heterarchical array of partial-observation decentralized supervisors and partial-observation coordinators. Then we localize each of these supervisors/coordinators into partial-observation local controllers. This procedure suggests a systematic approach to the distributed control of large-scale DES under partial observation. The results are illustrated by a system of automatic guided vehicles（AGV） serving a manufacturing workcell.

Identification of the nonlinear properties of rubber-bearings in base-isolated buildings with limited seismic response data

Seismic behaviors of base-isolated structures are highly affected by the nonlinear characteristics of the isolated systems. Most of the currently available methods for the identification of nonlinear properties of isolator require either the measurements of all structural responses or the assumptions of the proper mathematic models for the rubber-bearings. In this paper, two algorithms are proposed to identify the nonlinear properties of rubber-bearings in base-isolated buildings using only partial measurements of structural dynamic responses. The first algorithm is applicable to the case that proper mathematical models are available for the base isolators. It is based on the extended Kalman filter for the parametric identification of nonlinear models of rubber-bearing isolators and buildings. For the general case where it is difficult to establish a proper mathematical model to describe the nonlinear behavior of a rubber-bearing isolator, another algorithm is proposed to identify the model-tYee nonlinear property of rubber-bearing isolated system. Nonlinear effect of rubber-bearing is treated as ＇fictitious loading＇ on the linear building under severe earthquake. The algorithm is based on the sequential Kalman estimator for the structural responses and the least-squares estimation of the ＇fictitious loading＇ to identify the nonlinear force of rubber-bearing isolator. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed two algorithms are capable of identifying the nonlinear properties of rubber-bearing isolated systems with good accuracy.

Data-Driven Modeling of partially Observed Biological Systems

We present a numerical approach for modeling unknown dynamical systems using partially observed data,with a focus on biological systems with(relatively)complex dynamical *** an extension of the recently developed deep neural network(DNN)learning methods,our approach is particularly suitable for practical situations when(i)measurement data are available for only a subset of the state variables,and(ii)the system parameters cannot be observed or measured at *** demonstrate that,with a properly designed DNN structure with memory terms,effective DNN models can be learned from such partially observed data containing hidden *** learned DNN model serves as an accurate predictive tool for system *** a few representative biological problems,we demonstrate that such DNN models can capture qualitative dynamical behavior changes in the system,such as bifurcations,even when the parameters controlling such behavior changes are completely unknown throughout not only the model learning process but also the system prediction *** learned DNN model effectively creates a“closed”model involving only the observables when such a closed-form model does not exist mathematically.

In this paper, we consider a partial observed two-person zero-sum stochastic differential game problem where the system is governed by a stochastic differential equation of mean-field type. Under standard assumptions on the coefficients, the maximum principles for optimal open-loop control in a strong sense as well as a weak one are established by the associated optimal control theory in Tang and Meng（2016）.
