A series of monolithic Ni/CeO_2-ZrO_2/γ-Al_2O_3 catalysts for the POM reaction were prepared. The activity test shows that the catalyst has the best performance when CeO_2-ZrO_2 content is 8 wt%.The synergistic actions between CeO_2-ZrO_2 and γ-Al_2O_3 improve highly catalytic activity by increasing CH_4 conversion, H_2 and CO selectivity. XPS analysis of the used catalyst indicates that there coexist Ce^(4+) and Ce^(3+).

A series of M-substituted hexaaluminates LaMAl11O19-δ （M=Fe, Co, Ni, Mn, and Cu） were prepared and characterized by XRD, XPS, TPR and TGA techniques, respectively. They exhibited different reducibility and catalytic activity for partial oxidation of methane （POM） to synthesis gas. Among the LaMAl11019-δ samples, LaNiAl11O19-δ showed the best catalytic activity for the topic reaction and selectivity for synthesis gas at 780 ℃ for 2 h. The conversion of CH4 was over 99.2%, and the product selectivity for both CO and H2 was above 90.3%.

A series of VOx-TiOx/SBA-15 catalysts was rized by different techniques such as N2-sorption, TPR prepared by the grafting method. The catalysts were characte- UV-Vis and NH3-TPD in order to verify the vanadium and titanium species, and their catalytic properties were investigated for the partial oxidation of toluene. The results show that vanadium mainly existed in the forms of isolated tetrahedral and octahedral species at the low loadings. The introduction of a certain amount of titanium improved the dispersion of vanadium on the support and then the catalytic performance for toluene oxidation at the same vanadium content. Both toluene conversion and benzaldehyde selectivity, showed the maximum values and then decreased with increasing the amount of titanium in the catalyst.

A new technique -- the direct partial oxidation of methane to synthesis gas using lattice oxygen in molten salts medium has been introduced. Using CeO2 as the oxygen carrier, thermodynamic data were calculated in the reaction process, and the results indicated that direct partial oxidation of methane to synthesis gas using lattice oxygen of cerium oxide is feasible in theory. In a stainless steel reactor, the effects of temperature and varying amounts of γ-Al2O3 supported CeO2 on cn4 conversion, H2 and CO selectivity, were investigated, respectively. The results show that 10% CeO2/γ-Al2O3 has the maximal reaction activity at a temperature of 865 ℃ and above, the H2/CO ratio in the gas that has been produced reaches 2 and the CH4 conversion, H2 and CO selectivity reached the following percentages： i.e. 61%, 89%, and 91% at 870 ℃, respectively. In addition, increase of reaction temperature is favorable for the partial oxidation of methane.

partial oxidation of methane to syngas （POM） over Rh/SiO2 catalyst was investigated using in-situ FT-IR. When methane interacted with 1.0wt%Rh/SiO2 catalyst, it was dissociated to adsorbed hydrogen and CHx species. The adsorbed hydrogen atoms were transferred to SiO2 surface by ＂spill-over＂ and reacted with lattice oxygen to form surface -OH species. POM mechanism was investigated over Rh/SiO2 catalyst using in-situ FT-IR. It was found that CO2 was formed before CO could be detected when CH4 and O2 were introduced over the preoxidized Rh/SiO2 catalyst, whereas CO was detected before CO2 was formed over the prereduced Rh/SiO2 catalyst.

A highly efficient and stable hydrotalcite-derived Cu-MgAlO catalyst was developed for the partial oxidation of cyclohexane with molecular *** physical–chemical properties of Cu-MgAlO catalysts were studied,and the results indicated that the copper component had been successfully introduced into the hydrotalcite unit layer *** catalytic reaction results showed that copper as the active species could activate CAH bond and effectively promote the decomposition of cyclohexyl hydroperoxide(CHHP)to the mixture of cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone(KA oil).8.3%of cyclohexane conversion and 82.9%of selectivity for KA oil were obtained over 9%Cu-MgAlO catalyst at 150℃with 0.6 MPa of oxygen pressure for 2 ***,its catalytic performance was still stable after five runs.

The catalytic properties of electrode materials Ni/Ce1-xYxO2-δ （x = 0.05, 0.10, 0.15 and 0.20） were investigated for partial oxidation of methane （POM）. The CeO2-Y2O3 solid solutions were prepared by co-precipitaion method. The Ni-based catalysts supported on the solid solutions were obtained using the impregnation method. Structural, surface and redox characteristics of the prepared catalysts were system- atically examined by means of X-ray diffraction （XRD）, N2 adsorption-desorption （Brunauer-Emmet-Teller BET method）, H2 temperature- programmed reduction （H2-TPR） and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） methods. The results indicated that yttria doped in the ceria system, forming a good solid solution, readily induced more defects and oxygen vacancies that favored the improvement of catalytic activity and coking resistance. In the temperature range of 600-850 ℃, Ni/Ce0.90Y0.10O1.950 catalyst exhibited the best catalytic activity among the four tested catalysts, with the CH4 conversion, CO selectivity and H2 selectivity of 78.8%, 90.6% and 89.8%, respectively, at 850 ℃. And the H2/CO molar ratio in products of Ni/Ce0.90Y0.10O1.950 catalyst was closer to the theoretical value of 2.0. The excellent coking resistant behaviors for all catalysts were clearly manifested by thermal analysis.
