Rapid,efficiency and portable detection systems in low-resource settings with limited laboratory equipment and technical expertise are urgently ***,an integrated platform composed of a paper-based analytical device and a smartphone detection system for Hg^2+ onsite testing was ***-doped carbon dots(N-CDs)were synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method using citric acid as the carbon source and ethanediamine as the nitrogen source,which gave out bright blue fluorescence under the excitation at 350 nm UV light and the absolute fluorescence quantum yield was 17.1%.The fluorescence of the prepared N-CDs can be effectively quenched by Hg^2+.In addition,an external attachment of smartphone for illumination and external light interference was designed to trace the fluorescence signals,and a software application of Android system with simple operation program was developed to perform snapshot and image *** smartphone-assisted detection system was combined with the N-CDs decorated paper chip to achieve the sensitive detection of Hg^2+ in water *** integrated method for reliable sensing of Hg^2+ shows a good linear detection range of 10–800μmol/L(R2=0.9595)with detection limit of 1.07×10^?8 mol/L.

Commercial Chinese ink was employed to disperse pristine vapor-grown carbon nanofibers(VGCNFs)in aqueous suspensions via horizontal ball *** obtained suspension was used to fabricate conductive paper-based composites through filtration-deposition onto filter *** was found that the carbon black particles from the Chinese ink helped separate VGCNFs and acted as connection points between the VGCNFs,while the glue reinforced the conduction ***,the VGCNF-ink/paper ternary composite showed sufficiently low sheet *** merely 2.5 mg·cm^(−2)VGCNFs,the sheet resistance could be reduced to 4.5Ω·sq^(−1).As a proof of concept,these paper-based composites were directly used as electrodes of solid-state symmetric electronic double-layer capacitors(EDLCs)and the substrate for the electrodeposition of MnO_(2)to achieve higher electrochemical *** EDLCs fabricated with 2.5 mg·cm^(−2)VGCNFs showed a specific capacitance of 224 mF·cm^(−2)at a current density of 1 mA·cm^(−2),which was retained by 86.4%after 10,000 charge-discharge ***,thanks to the high electrical conductivity and the porous structure,the MnO_(2)decorated paper-based composites exhibited dramatically enhanced specific *** is believed that our finding offers an idea to directly utilize commercial Chinese ink for the fabrication of electrode materials.

Facile Fabrication of Cellulosic paper-based Composites with Temperature-controlled Hydrophobicity and Excellent Mechanical Strength

In this paper,we presented a novel strategy to employ a plantderived carbohydrate polymer,i.e.,cellulose,to prepare a hydrophobic *** was used as a scaffold,and ethylene-propylene side by side(ES)fiber was thermally melted and then coated on the cellulose surface to achieve *** results revealed that the thermocoating ES fibers greatly increased the water contact angle of the cellulose scaffold from 25°to 153°while simultaneously enhanced the wet tensile strength of the composite approximately 6.7-fold(drying temperature of 170℃)compared with the pure cellulose *** particular,compared with other related research,the prepared cellulose-based composite possessed excellent hydrophobicity and superior mechanical strength,which introduces a new chemical engineering approach to prepare hydrophobic cellulose-based functional materials.

In this study,a green and pollution-free multifunctional superhydrophobic paper-based material was prepared using a simple and efficient dipping *** superhydrophobic paper with a water contact angle(WCA)of 160°was prepared by attaching micro-and nanocomposite particles,made of stearic acid-modified chitosan and two kinds of titanium dioxide(TiO_(2))nanoparticles of different sizes,to a paper *** surface morphology,elemental composition,and wetting properties of the coatings were examined using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),and contact angle ***,superhydrophobic coatings exhibited good self-cleaning properties,liquid repellency,ease of repair,and antifouling properties in organic solutions.
