Academic literature retrieval concerns about the selection of papers that are most likely to match a user's information needs. Most of the retrieval systems are limited to list-output models, in which the retrieval results are isolated from each other. In this paper, we aim to uncover the relationships between the retrieval results and propose a method to build structural retrieval results for academic literature, which we call a paper evolution graph(PEG).The PEG describes the evolution of diverse aspects of input queries through several evolution chains of papers. By using the author, citation, and content information, PEGs can uncover various underlying relationships among the papers and present the evolution of articles from multiple viewpoints. Our system supports three types of input queries: keyword query, single-paper query, and two-paper query. The construction of a PEG consists mainly of three steps. First, the papers are soft-clustered into communities via metagraph factorization, during which the topic distribution of each paper is obtained. Second, topically cohesive evolution chains are extracted from the communities that are relevant to the query. Each chain focuses on one aspect of the query. Finally, the extracted chains are combined to generate a PEG, which fully covers all the topics of the query. Experimental results on a real-world dataset demonstrate that the proposed method can construct meaningful PEGs.

Along with the unceasing growth of worldwide economic and the associated issues on resources,energy and environment,clean energy generating technologies that are based on recyclable materials,if possible,may become the future trend of ***,we report the design of a cheap,lightweight,and recyclable single-electrode triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)that utilizes waste paper as the triboelectric *** the current strategy,we successfully developed green energy machines without vastly increasing the mining of various critical minerals around the *** as-designed TENG could not only collect and convert mechanical energy into electricity with sound efficiency,but also has the merit for continuous reuse and quick *** maximum output power density is as high as 171 mW·m^(-2) at a resistance of 130 MQ and could be integrated into a book for monitoring reading actions,thus providing a new approach to the low-cost,green and sustainable self-powered electronic systems.

In dual-ion batteries (DIBs), energy storage is achieved by intercalation/de-intercalation of both cations and anions. Due to the mismatch between ion diameter and layer space of active materials, however, volume expansion and exfoliation always occur for electrode materials. Herein, an integrated electrode Co3O4/carbon fiber paper (CFP) is prepared as the anode of DIB. As the Co3O4 nanosheets grow on CFP substrate vertically, it promotes the immersion of electrolyte and shortens the pathway for ionic transport. Besides, the strong interaction between Co3O4 and CFP substrate reduces the possibility of sheet exfoliation. An integrated-electrode-based DIB is therefore packaged using Co3O4/CFP as anode and graphite as cathode. As a result, a high energy density of 72 Wh/kg is achieved at a power density of 150 W/kg. The design of integrated electrode provides a new route for the development of high-performance DIBs.

Phase modification and dielectric properties of a cullet–paper ash–kaolin clay-based ceramic

Novel ceramics from waste material made of(x) paper ash–(80-x) cullet–20 kaolin clay(10 wt% ≤ x ≤ 30 wt%) were successfully synthesized using a conventional solid-state reaction technique. Energy-dispersive X-ray analysis confirmed the presence of Si, Ca, Al, and Fe in the waste material for preparing these ceramics. The influence of the cullet content on the phase structures and the dielectric properties of these ceramics were systematically investigated. The impedance spectra were verified in the range from 1 Hz to 10 MHz at room temperature. The phase of the ceramics was found to primarily consist of wollastonite(CaSiO_3), along with minor phases of γ-dicalcium silicate(Ca_2SiO_4) and quartz(SiO_2). The sample with a cullet content of 55 wt% possessed the optimum wollastonite structure and exhibited good dielectric properties. An increase of the cullet content beyond 55 wt% resulted in a structural change from wollastonite to dicalcium silicate, a decrease in dielectric constant, and an increase in dielectric loss. All experimental results suggested that these novel ceramics from waste are applicable for electronic devices.

Biological Degradation of Some Organic Compounds Enrolled in paper Industry—A Pollution Prevention Approach

Evaluation of the elimination and the “ultimate” biodegradation by aerobic microorganisms of some organic compounds commonly used in paper manufacturing technology was investigated. Biodegradation lines of nine organic compounds were determined as percentage removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD) over 7 days incubation. The results of the biodegradability test clearly revealed that some of the organic compounds under investigation are highly biodegradable, while others rank from fairly to even non biodegradable. Significant biodegradation results were recorded for anti coating ester (95.0%), basoplast 200D (85.3%) and basoplast PR 8050(87.6%). A bleaching agent (formamidin sulfinic acid), ukanol BSA and solidurit KM demonstrate moderate biodegradation results of 62.1%, 76.2% and 69.8%, respectively. Poor biodegradation results for Hedifix M/35 (12.7%), basazol orange (34.9%) and basazol brown (29.0%) were recorded. Accordingly, appropriate precaution should be taken into consideration when using these compounds for industrial applications.

The current article addresses a new strategy for the preparation of polylactic acid/cellulose nanocrystal(PLA/CNCs)nanobiocomposite films with improved structural morphology,mechanical and barrier properties for food packaging *** addition of hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB)and sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS)as cationic and anionic surfactants respectively,was found to play a crucial role in preventing re-aggregation of the CNCs during drying and improving the dispersion of CNCs in the *** coated paper was characterized using mechanical tests,water vapor permeability(WVP),X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and air *** results showed that the paper coated with PLA containing 7.5%CNCs and 0.15%CTAB based on weight of PLA,gives the highest measured paper properties,where an increase in tensile strength(+133%),Young’s modulus(+309%),tear index(+183%),burst(+60.8)and a decrease in air permeability(−92%)was obtained.

Point-of-care nucleic acid testing(POCNAT) has played an important role in the outbreak of infectious diseases(e.g., COVID-19) over recent years. POCNAT aims to realize the rapid, simple and automatic detection of nucleic acid. Thanks to the development of manufacturing technology, electronic information technology, artificial intelligence technology, and biological information technology in recent years, the development of the POCNAT device has led to significant advancement. Instead of the normal nucleic acid detection methods used in the laboratory, some novel experimental carriers have been applied, such as chips, cartridges and papers. The application of these experimental carriers has realized the automation and integration of nucleic acid detection. The entire process of nucleic acid detection is normally divided into three steps(nucleic acid extraction, target amplification and signal detection). All of the reagents required by the process can be pre-stored on these experimental carriers, without unnecessary manual operation. Furthermore, all of the processes are carried out in this experimental carrier, with the assistance of a specific control device. Although they are complicated to manufacture and precise in design,their application provides a significant step forwards in nucleic acid detection and realizes the integration of nucleic acid detection. This technology has great potential in the field of point-of-care molecular diagnostics in the future. This paper focuses on the relevant content of these experimental carriers.
