The principles of chemical equilibrium were used to derive a new set of formulae representing the oxygen potentials for five buffer gas mixtures at normal *** sorts of classical formulae for them are on- ly a particular representation under ignoring the effects of oxygen,thereby being unavailable for accurate cal- culation of oxygen *** this paper,the oxygen potentials set by CO_2-H_2 gas mixtures and the mis- takes and errors of the classical expressions for them were discussed *** deviation in partial pressures of oxygen in some of previous experiments under the oxygen potentials controlled by CO_2-H_2 gas mixtures was explained *** oxygen-potential diagrams predicting the equilibrated gas com- positions from the initial conditions have been also given.

The relation of Lp(the ratio P content in slag to P content in ferromanganese) and L,(the ratio Mn content in slag to Mn content in ferromanganese) with C content[C]in ferromanganese were tested by means of the equilibrium experiments of P and Mn between ferromanganese and BaO-BaF-MnO slag *** results show that there exists in ferromanganese an optimum C content[C]* corresponding to maximum Land minimum L> which is closely related to oxygen potential in the system and the activity of P in the *** control limits of oxygen potential in dephosphorization of ferromanganese are then *** theoretical limits and measures to improve ferromanganese dephosphorization with BaO-based slag are studied comprehensively based on previous research.

oxygen potentials of oxide nuclear fuels are important thermodynamic data in development of nuclear fuel technologies. Minor actinide bearing MOX （mixed oxide） fuels have been developed as sodium cooled fast reactor fuels. Content of Am which is one of the minor actinide elements causes oxygen potentialto increase. The effects of the oxygen potential increase on the irradiation behavior were evaluated. Profiles of temperature and O/M （oxygen-to-metal） ratio in the pellets were evaluated to better understand the irradiation behavior. From these data, local oxygen potential in the radial direction of the pellets was calculated, and was compared with free energy of compounds composed of fission products. Based on this comparison, it was concluded that Cs2MoO4 was likely formed at pellet periphery of （U07Pu03）O1.98 and （U0.66Pu03Amoo16Npo.016）Ol.976 The extent of cladding tube inner surface oxidation was predicted by using the calculated oxygen potential. No significant difference between irradiation behaviors of （Uo.7Puo3）O2_x and （U0.66PUo 3Amo.016Npo.016）O2.x pellets was confirmed.

The SKS furnace is a horizontal cylindrical reactor similar to a Noranda furnace,however,the oxygen enriched air isblown into the furnace from the *** model of the SKS process was developed by analyzing the smeltingcharacteristics *** our model,the furnace section from top to bottom is divided into seven functional layers,i.e.,gas layer,mineral decomposition transitioning layer,slag layer,slag formation transitioning layer,matte formation transitioning layer,weakoxidizing layer and strong oxidizing *** furnace along the length direction is divided into three functional regions,that is,reaction region,separation transitioning region and liquid phase separation and settling *** layers or regions play differentroles in the model in describing the mechanism of the smelting *** SKS smelting is at a multiphase non-steady equilibriumstate,and the oxygen and sulfur potentials change gradually in the length and cross *** smelting capacity of the SKSprocess could be raised through reasonably controlling the potential values in different layers and regions.
