Most hydrodynamic problems in ship and ocean engineering are complex and highly *** the trend of intelligent and digital design for ships and ocean engineering structures,comprehensive performance evaluation and optimization are of vital importance during *** this process,various coupling effects need to be accurately *** the significant progress of computational fluid dynamics(CFD),many advanced numerical models were proposed to simulate the complex coupling hydrodynamic problems in ship and ocean engineering *** this paper,five key coupling hydrodynamic problems are introduced,which are hull-propeller-rudder coupling,wave-floating structure coupling,aerodynamic-hydrodynamic coupling,fluid structure coupling and fluid-noise coupling,*** paper focuses on the numerical simulation techniques corresponding to each coupling problem,including the theories and the *** directions and conclusions are provided finally.

K Variations and Anisotropy: Microstructure Effect and numerical Predictions

Computer experiments were performed on simulated polycrystalline material samples that possess locally anisotropic microstructures to investigate stress intensity factor ( K ) variations and anisotropy along fronts of microcracks of different sizes. The anisotropic K , arising from inhomogeneous stresses in broken grains, was determined for planar microcracks by using a weight function-based numerical technique. It has been found that the grain-orientation-geometry-induced local anisotropy produces large variations in K along front of microcracks, when the crack size is of the order of few grain diameters. Synergetic effect of grain orientation and geometry of broken grains control K variations and evolution along the microcrack front. The K variations may diminish at large crack sizes, signifying a shift of K calculation to bulk stress dependence from local stress dependence. Local grain geometry and texture may lead to K anisotropy, producing unusually higher/lower K at a segment of the crack front. Either K variation or anisotropy cannot be ignored when assessing a microcrack.

This paper presents a parallel numerical technique for modelling wave propagation in 3-D heterogeneous anisotropic *** scheme is developed by following a so-called 3-D grid method of the elastic-isotropic *** proposed parallel algorithm needs small data exchanges between subdomains in contrast to that developed based on other numerical techniques;therefore, it is more suitable for a *** algorithm is implemented on a mesh of mixed tetrahedrons and parallelepipedons,thus providing an accurate description of arbitrary 3-D surface and interface topographies and an easy generation of a non-uniform,unstructured *** unstructured mesh means that the proposed algorithm can reduce the memory requirement by flexibly assigning small grid spacing in regions with lowvelocities and larger grid spacing in regions with higher *** the 3-D grid method,the resulting anisotropic scheme naturally satisfies the free-surface boundary conditions of arbitrary surface *** a result, the near-surface scattering effects can be more accurately *** proposed scheme can handle a general anisotropy without any *** this paper,the transversely isotropic medium with a tilted symmetry axis,as typically caused by a system of parallel cracks or fine layers,is discussed in detail.A paraxial absorbing boundary condition in a 3-D general anisotropic case is also *** with analytical solutions demonstrate the accuracy of the parallel *** 3-D radiation patterns illustrate shear-wave splitting,as predicted by the *** show the generality and flexibility of the algorithm by modelling wave propagation in an anisotropic half-space with a hemispherical crater on the surface and in mixed isotropic/anisotropic models with horizontal and inclined interfaces.
