What is already known about this topic?Men who have sex with men(MSM)bear a disproportionate burden of new human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)infections and young MSM demonstrate parallel internet-driven HIV incident infection and dynamic social network.What is added by this report?The HIV positive prevalence and incidence among college MSM were 3.8%and 2.9 per 100 person-years,respectively,while these rates were 13.9%and 10.5 per 100 person-years,respectively,among their social contacts.The overall HIV positive prevalence was 7.2%in northeast China.HIV-positive MSM have comparatively more social contacts than HIVseronegative MSM.What are the implications for public health practice?Hyper-linkages found in app-based social networks play an important role in HIV transmission via risky sexual behavior and suggest options for online intervention to promote HIV prevention.

INTRODUCTION Pentatrichomonas hominis,an anaerobic flagellated protozoan that inhabits the large intestines of mammals and belongs to the Trichomonadidae family(Wenrich 1944;Kim et al.2010;Li et al.2014b,2016,2018a,2020;Maritz et al.2014;Zhang et al.2019),is mainly transmitted through the fecal-oral route.It was originally presumed to be a commensal protozoan(Tolbert et al.2012)but was found to cause gastrointestinal symptoms.

现代土壤学起源于黑土研究,但受限于土壤的复杂性及测年技术的发展,至今仍未有效回答:黑土形成于何时?深厚黑土层如何形成?已有研究绝大多数都基于对土壤有机质的C测年结果,而由于土壤有机质存在着不断更新的过程,因此可能对实际黑土形成年龄产生严重低估.本研究基于多材料(碳屑、埋藏黑土层及自然发育黑土)和多技术手段("C和OSL)测年,明确了我国东北黑土形成的初始年龄为晚冰期暖期(Bolling-Allerod期),远早于此前普遍认为的全新世早中期.结合黑土母质来源与年龄及有机质年龄,进一步提出我国东北深厚黑土层的形成是有机质积累和粉尘持续加积共同作用的结果;该成土模型有效解释了土壤有机碳C年龄会严重低估黑土的形成年龄。本研究对理解黑土资源形成过程与机理、评估黑土资源可持续性有重要意义.

The Northern Orogenic Belt(NOB,also known as the Central Asian Orogenic Belt,CAOB)is the world's largest Phanerozoic accretionary orogenic belt and records geological processes involved in the development and evolution of the Paleo-Asian Ocean from the Neoproterozoic through the early Paleozoic to the Late Paleozoic.The NOB thus provides an ideal natural laboratory for geologists to study Phanerozoic continental dynamics and mineralization.

To the Editor:Bullous pemphigoid(BP)is a chronic autoimmune blistering disease characterized by the association with autoantibodies to two hemidesmosomal proteins(BP180 and BP230)interfering with the adhesion of basal epidermal keratinocytes.The global incidence of BP is 2.5 to 75 cases/million per year.[1]Genetic,environmental,and stochastic factors contribute to the susceptibility to BP.We performed a retrospective study on BP in northeast China to evaluate its clinical characteristics.The data of BP patients from Shenyang Seventh People’s Hospital between January 2015 and January 2020 were analyzed,including 464 BP patients from northeast China.

The nature and evolution of the lithospheric mantle underlying northeast(NE)China were investigated by assessing the mineral chemistry,water contents,and noble gas(He-Ar)isotopes of peridotite xenoliths captured by Cenozoic basalts from the Changbaishan and Longgang regions.The xenoliths,which have863–1141℃ equilibration temperatures,primarily comprise spinel lherzolites and rare spinel harzburgites.The Mg#(Fo)values of olivine in the peridotite xenoliths vary from 86.9 to 91.3.The clinopyroxenes have high Ti/Eu and low(La/Yb)N,and their chondrite-normalized rare earth elements(REEs)exhibit light REE-depletion to-enrichment patterns,indicating that the mantle underneath the investigated region was predominantly subjected to partial melting(1%–10%)and was metasomatized by silicate melts.The measured3He/4He ratios of the Changbaishan xenoliths have a narrow range from 5.8 Ra to 8.4 Ra with an average of 7.4 Ra.The3He/4He isotopic ratios of the Longgang xenoliths varied from 4.7 Ra to8.1 Ra with an average of 5.9 Ra;slightly lower than the Changbaishan xenoliths.The whole-rock H2Ocontents of the studied peridotite ranged from 9 to 132 ppm.The high H2O contents in excess of50 ppm(up to 132 ppm)might represent newly accreted and cooled asthenospheric materials,while those with H2O contents lower than 50 ppm(as little as 9 ppm)may represent thinned,relic,ancient lithospheric mantle.These geochemical evidences,in combination with published data,indicated that the lithospheric mantle beneath the Changbaishan and Longgang in NE China is dominated by the younger and more fertile lithospheric mantle with a minor ancient and refractory keel.In addition,the lithospheric mantle of this area was metasomatized by melts related to the recent subduction event(e.g.,Pacific oceanic plate).Therefore,the westward-dipping Pacific oceanic plate subduction had an important contribution to the transformation of the lithospheric mantle beneath NE China.

Deep origin of Cenozoic volcanoes in northeast China revealed by 3-D electrical structure

The three-dimensional(3-D)electrical structure of the upper-mantle was used to examine the deep origins of and relationship among the Cenozoic volcanoes located in northeast China(NEC).High-quality,long-period magnetotelluric(LMT)full-impedance tensor data were collected in NEC and subjected to 3-D Gauss-Newton inversion in order to construct a resistivity model.The resulting model reveals the presence of multiple localized low-resistivity anomalies(LRAs)within the high resistivity lithosphere beneath NEC.These LRAs partially coincide with Cenozoic volcanoes on the surface.Three LRAs that form a larger,annular LRA were observed in the deep upper mantle beneath the Songliao Basin,whereas vein-like LRAs were found in the asthenosphere that connect the lithosphere and deep upper mantle.Petrophysical analyses suggest that the LRAs may have been caused by fluid-induced melting.Based on our electrical model,we propose that,following dehydration of the subducted Western Pacific slab into the mantle transition zone(MTZ)beneath NEC,the released water migrated upward and caused partial melting at the top of the MTZ beneath the Songliao Basin.Under the effect of buoyancy,the melted mantle formed a thermal upwelling that caused melting of asthenosphere before diapiring at the base of the dry lithosphere.The magma then penetrated structural boundaries(such as thinner,weaker,or activated suture zones)and finally reached the Earth's surface.This melting and upwelling of hot mantle materials may have resulted in large-scale volcanism in the region throughout the Cenozoic,including the eruption of Changbai Mountain and Halaha Volcanoes.Our results suggest that the Cenozoic NEC volcanoes may all share a similar mode of genesis,and probably originated from the annular LRA in the deep upper mantle.

Despite 250 years of taxonomic classification and over 1.2 million species already catalogued,known species diversity is only a small part of true species diversity on Earth,and thus,the known species are only the tip of iceberg.Here,we investigated the genus Pholcus Walckenaer,1805 of the family Pholcidae C.L.Koch,1850 in the Changbai Mountains,northeast China,which provides an excellent case of high species diversity.Previously,only 14 endemic Pholcus spiders,all belonging to the P.phungiformes species group,and two introduced species P.manueli Gertsch,1937 and P.zichyi Kulczyński,1901 from the P.crypticolens species group,have been recorded from this area.Our study confirmed 11 new species of the P.phungiformes species group based on morphology and three methods of molecular species delimitation:P.gaizhou Yao&Li,sp.nov.,P.guanshui Yao&Li,sp.nov.,P.jiguanshan Yao&Li,sp.nov.,P.longxigu Yao&Li,sp.nov.,P.luoquanbei Yao&Li,sp.nov.,P.shenshi Yao&Li,sp.nov.,P.tianmenshan Yao&Li,sp.nov.,P.wangjiang Yao&Li,sp.nov.,P.xingqi Yao&Li,sp.nov.,P.yaoshan Yao&Li,sp.nov.,and P.yuhuangshan Yao&Li,sp.nov.This study brings the fauna of the P.phungiformes species group from the Changbai Mountains to 25 species,approximately two times more than previously known,which could indicate that species diversity in the area is underestimated for all arthropod fauna.
