A series of highly cross-linked polymeric ionic liquids P[Ci(Vim)_2][Cl]_2(i = 2,3,4,5,6) were synthesized by quaternization reaction and polymerization,and used to remove nitrogen compounds from *** polymeric ionic liquids P[Ci(Vim)_2][H_2PO_4]_2(i = 2,3,4,5,6) were then obtained via ion *** structures of P[C_4(Vim)_2][Cl]_2 and P[C_4(Vim)_2][H_2PO_4]_2 were characterized by Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopy,energy dispersive spectrometry(EDS),N2 adsorption-desorption isotherm measurements,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry(TG/DSC).The removal of nitrogen compounds was characterized by pyridineFTIR *** results indicated that P[C_4(Vim)_2][H_2PO_4]_2 with an average pore size of 19.23 nm and a specific surface area of 11.78 m^2/g was efficient for the removal of nitrogen compounds,and exhibited good thermal *** adsorption rate in the simulated oil reached 93.8% when using a polymeric ionic liquid P[C_4(Vim)_2][H_2PO_4]_2 to oil ratio of 0.04 and a temperature of 313 *** nitrogen removal rate from the coal-tar diesel fraction achieved by P[C_4(Vim)_2][H_2PO_4]_2 was 90.3%.

Viscous sludge bulking is a rare phenomenon in activated sludge *** performances of nutrients removal were investigated with normal sludge and viscous bulking *** results showed that when COD loading and C/N ratio were around 0.13 mg COD/(mg MLSS·d)and 7.67,the effect of viscous sludge bulking on the maximum specific oxidation rates of NH_(4)^(+)⁃N was very little,while the maximum specific oxidation rates of NO_(2)^(-)⁃N decreased from 24.69 mg/(g·h)to 1.20 mg/(g·h).Compared with normal sludge,viscous bulking sludge had bigger particle size and more extracellular polymeric substances(EPS).The mass transfer resistance in sludge flocs might be the main cause of the difference in NO-2⁃N oxidation ***,this study demonstrates that viscous sludge bulking is beneficial to enhance simultaneous nitrification and denitrification(SND),and excessive EPS will exhibit storage function during phosphorus removal process.

Climate affects the natural landscape,the economic productivity of societies,and the lifestyles of its *** also influences municipal wastewater *** processes are widely employed in municipal wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs),and the prolonged cold conditions brought by the winter months each year pose obstacles to meeting the national standards in relatively cold ***,both a systematic analysis of existing technical bottlenecks as well as promising novel technologies are urgently needed for these cold *** North-east China as a case,this review studied and analyzed the main challenges affecting 20 municipal ***,we outlined the currently employed strategies and research issues pertaining to low temperature *** temperatures have been found to reduce the metabolism of microbes by 58%or more,thereby leading to chemical oxygen demand(COD)and NH_(4)^(-)-N levels that have frequently exceeded the national standard during the winter ***,the extracellular matrix tends to lead to activated sludge bulking *** employed strategies to combat these issues include increasing the aeration intensity,reflux volume,and flocculant addition;however,these strategies increase electricity consumption by>42%in the winter ***,the processes of anaerobic ammonium oxidation(anammox),granular sludge,and aerobic denitrification have become the focus of research for overcoming low *** have inspired us to review and propose directions for the further development of novel technologies suitable for cold regions,thereby overcoming the issues inherent in traditional processes that have failed to meet the presently reformed WWTP requirements.

[Objective] This study aimed to investigate the nitrogen release kinetics and nitrification-denitrification on surface sediments under aerating disturbance condition, with the purpose to solve the sediment nitrogen release and secondary pollution problems. [Method] The effect of in situ sediments aeration on the release of nitrogen pollutants was investigated, and the nitrogen release kinetics parameters were analyzed. The process of nitrification and denitrification under sediments aeration condition was investigated in laboratory. [Result] The nitrogen released from sediments was enhanced by aeration disturbance. The concentration of NH4＋-N and TN reached the maximum value in 30 min, and release rates were proportional to the disturbance strength. In this study, with the distance of aerator to the sediments surface of 0, 1, 2 and 3 cm, the suspended sediments concentrations were 3.52, 3.41, 3.26 and 3.01 g/L, respectively. Maximum release concentration of NH4＋-N and TN were 14.3, 13.8, 13.2, 12.2 mg/L and 33.21, 30.98, 29.83, 27.30 mg/L, respec- tively. In addition, both NH4＋-N and TN release kinetics could be described by Double Constant Equation as InC=A＋Blnt. Nitrification reaction occurred and was promoted by continued aerating to *** concentration of NH4＋-N dropped down from 12.4 mg/L to 0.2 mg/L in 8 d, with the concentration of NO3--N increased to the maximum value of 10.8 mg/L. In addition, concentration of NO3--N and TN decreased from 10.8 mg/L and 37.4 mg/L to 0.36 mg/L and 23.2 mg/L after the stop of aeration for 12 d, indicating the occurrence of denitdfication reaction. Therefore, sediment aeration could accelerate nitrogen release and nitrification reaction, and with intermittent aeration, nitrogen could be removed from sediments in-situ by nitrification and denitrification. [Conclusion] The results provided technical reference for the in situ sediment remediation for the black-odor rivers in cities.
