Impact of parameter fluctuations on the performance of ethanol precipitation in production of Re Du ning Injections, based on HPLC fingerprints and principal component analysis

The present study was designed to determine the relationships between the performance of ethanol precipitation and seven process parameters in the ethanol precipitation process of Re Du ning Injections,including concentrate density,concentrate temperature,ethanol content,flow rate and stir rate in the addition of ethanol,precipitation time,and precipitation temperature.Under the experimental and simulated production conditions,a series of precipitated resultants were prepared by changing these variables one by one,and then examined by HPLC fingerprint analyses.Different from the traditional evaluation model based on single or a few constituents,the fingerprint data of every parameter fluctuation test was processed with Principal Component Analysis(PCA)to comprehensively assess the performance of ethanol precipitation.Our results showed that concentrate density,ethanol content,and precipitation time were the most important parameters that influence the recovery of active compounds in precipitation resultants.The present study would provide some reference for pharmaceutical scientists engaged in research on pharmaceutical process optimization and help pharmaceutical enterprises adapt a scientific and reasonable cost-effective approach to ensure the batch-to-batch quality consistency of the final products.

Fabric Recognition Using Zero-Shot Learning

In this work, we use a deep learning method to tackle the Zero-Shot Learning(ZSL) problem in tactile material recognition by incorporating the advanced semantic information into a training model. Our main technical contribution is our proposal of an end-to-end deep learning framework for solving the tactile ZSL problem. In this framework, we use a Convolutional Neural Network(CNN) to extract the spatial features and Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM) to extract the temporal features in dynamic tactile sequences, and develop a loss function suitable for the ZSL setting. We present the results of experimental evaluations on publicly available datasets, which show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Formation of a new intermediate phase and its evolution toward θ’ during aging of pre-deformed Al-Cu alloys

The frequent occurrence of hitherto unknown phase Pre-θ′-2 and unusual 1.5 cθ′thick θ′precipitate was observed by atomic-resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy in the well-studied Al-Cu alloys. This phenomenon is associated with heterogeneous precipitate nucleation and growth on preexisting dislocations introduced by slight deformation prior to aging. In this study, the precise structure details of Pre-θ′-2 was determined by atomic scale imaging, image simulation based on image forming theories and first principle calculations. Pre-θ′-2 has a well-defined ordered structure sandwiched between two 2 aAl(~1.5 cθ′) spaced Cu layers on {200}Alplanes. The strong structural similarities between Pre-θ′-2 and 1.5 cθ′ thick θ′ in terms of interfacial structure and thickness, coupled with energetic calculations and preliminary in-situ observations, lead us to propose a new precipitation path toward key strengthening phase θ′

The Lost-Wax Process in the Pre-Qin Period: A Bronze Appendage with Hollow Snake Patterns from the Tomb of Duke ning of Xu

This paper discusses the most recent case of the lost-wax process,namely,a bronze appendage with hollow snake patterns excavated in 2002 at the tomb of Duke ning of Xu(許公寧)(a state in the Spring and Autumn period)in Ye County,Henan Province.Various physical and chemical analyses indicate that this artifact was cast as a whole in 547 BCE or slightly later in a high tin bronze alloy using the lost-wax process.No traces of cast joints or soldering were found.This research provides further proof that the lost-wax process was a significant technical development achieved by casters in the Pre-Qin period.

Water Extraction Process of Chinese Herbal Compound Man Gan ning

[Objectives]To optimize the water extraction process of Chinese Herbal Compound Man Gan ning and establish a method for its extraction and content determination.[Methods]The L9(34)orthogonal test was carried out,the comprehensive scores of ginsenoside Rb1 content,notoginsenoside R1 content,tanshinone I content and saikosaponin A content in the compound extract were used as evaluation indicators to explore the effects of water addition,the water addition,decoction time and decoction times on the water extraction process,and verification tests were carried out.[Results]The optimized water extraction process was as follows:adding 9 times of water in the first extraction,and extracting for 90 min;adding 7 times of water in the second extraction,and extracting for 60 min;adding 7 times of water in the third extraction,and extracting for 60 min.[Conclusions]The optimized water extraction process is stable and feasible,and can be used for the extraction of various herbs in Compound Man Gan ning.It can also provide experimental basis for the formulation development of Compound Man Gan ning sustained release tablet.
