An audio and video network monitoring system for weather modification operation transmitting information by 3G, ADSL and Internet has been developed and applied in weather modification operation of Tai＇an City. The all-in-one machine of 3G audio and video network highly integrates all front-end devices used for audio and video collection, communication, power supply and information storage, and has advantages of wireless video transmission, clear two-way voice intercom with the command center, waterproof and dustproof function, simple operation, good portability, and long working hours. Compression code of the system is transmitted by dynamic bandwidth, and compression rate varies from 32 kbps to 4 Mbps under different network conditions. This system has forwarding mode, that is, monitoring information from each front-end monitoring point is trans- mitted to the server of the command center by 3G/ADSL, and the server codes＇and decodes again, then beck-end users call images from the serv- er, which can address 3G network stoppage caused by many users calling front-end video at the same time. In addition, the system has been ap- plied in surface weather modification operation of Tai＇an City, and has made a great contribution to transmitting operation orders in real time, monitoring, standardizing and recording operating process, and improving operating safety.

Real-time streaming media transmission has been used widely in the network monitoring system, and audio- video synchronization is a key issue. Since the use of RTP protocol in data transmission, the synchronization problems can be simplified greatly if the time information in RTP data packets is used effectively. Based on the experience in the network monitoring system programming, this monitoring system makes full use of the timestamp in the RTP protocol, expounds how to set reference time and the timestamp and how to program the audio-video synchronization.

When paths share a common congested link, they will all suffer from a performance degradation. Boolean tomography exploits these performance-level correlations between different paths to identify the congested links. It is clear that the congestion of a path will be distinctly intensive when it traverses multiple congested links. We adopt an enlarged state space model to mirror different congestion levels and employ a system of integer equations, instead of Boolean equations, to describe relationships between the path states and the link states. We recast the problem of identifying congested links into a constraint optimization problem, including Boolean tomography as a special case. For a logical tree, we propose an up-to-bottom algorithm and prove that it always achieves a solution to the problem. Compared with existing algorithms, the simulation results show that our proposed algorithm achieves a higher detection rate while keeping a low false positive rate.

The evolution and expansion of IoT devices reduced human efforts,increased resource utilization, and saved time;however, IoT devices createsignificant challenges such as lack of security and privacy, making them morevulnerable to IoT-based botnet attacks. There is a need to develop efficientand faster models which can work in real-time with efficiency and stability. The present investigation developed two novels, Deep Neural network(DNN) models, DNNBoT1 and DNNBoT2, to detect and classify well-knownIoT botnet attacks such as Mirai and BASHLITE from nine compromisedindustrial-grade IoT devices. The utilization of PCA was made to featureextraction and improve effectual and accurate Botnet classification in IoTenvironments. The models were designed based on rigorous hyperparameterstuning with GridsearchCV. Early stopping was utilized to avoid the effects ofoverfitting and underfitting for both DNN models. The in-depth assessmentand evaluation of the developed models demonstrated that accuracy andefficiency are some of the best-performed models. The novelty of the presentinvestigation, with developed models, bridge the gaps by using a real datasetwith high accuracy and a significantly lower false alarm rate. The results wereevaluated based on earlier studies and deemed efficient at detecting botnetattacks using the real dataset.

Flow-based measurement is a popular method for various network monitoring ***, many flow exporting softwares have still low performance to collect all *** this paper, we propose a IPFIX-based flow export engine with an enhanced and extensible data structure, called XFix, on the basis of a GPL tool,-*** the engine, we use an extensible two-dimensional hash table for flow aggregation, which is able to improve the performance of the metering process as well as support bidirectional *** results have shown its efficiency in multi-thread processing activity.

：In today＇s networks, load balancing and priority queues in switches are used to support various quality-of-service （QoS） features and provide preferential treatment to certain types of traffic. Traditionally, network operators use ‘traceroute＇ and ‘ping＇ to troubleshoot load balancing and QoS problems. However, these tools are not supported by the common OpenFlow-based switches in software-defined networking （SDN）. In addition, traceroute and ping have potential problems. Because load balancing mechanisms balance flows to different paths, it is impossible for these tools to send a single type of probe packet to find the forwarding paths of flows and measure latencies. Therefore, tracing flows＇ real forwarding paths is needed before measuring their latencies, and path tracing and latency measurement should be jointly considered. To this end, FlowTrace is proposed to find arbitrary flow paths and measure flow latencies in OpenFlow networks. FlowTrace collects all flow entries and calculates flow paths according to the collected flow entries. However, polling flow entries from switches will induce high overhead in the control plane of SDN. Therefore, a passive flow table collecting method with zero control plane overhead is proposed to address this problem. After finding flows＇ real forwarding paths, FlowTrace uses a new measurement method to measure the latencies of different flows. Results of experiments conducted in Mininet indicate that FlowTrace can correctly find flow paths and accurately measure the latencies of flows in different priority classes.

Recently, cloud computing has become a vital part that supports people’s normal lives and ***, accompanied by the increasing complexity of the cloud network, failures constantly keep coming up and cause huge economic losses. Thus, to guarantee the cloud network performance and prevent execrable effects caused by failures, cloud network diagnostics has become of great interest for cloud service providers. Due to the characteristics of cloud network(e.g., virtualization and multi-tenancy), transplanting traditional network diagnostic tools to the cloud network face several difficulties. Additionally, many existing tools cannot solve problems in the cloud network. In this paper, we summarize and classify the state-of-the-art technologies of cloud diagnostics which can be used in the production cloud network according to their features. Moreover, we analyze the differences between cloud network diagnostics and traditional network diagnostics based on the characteristics of the cloud network. Considering the operation requirements of the cloud network, we propose the points that should be cared about when designing a cloud network diagnostic tool. Also, we discuss the challenges that cloud network diagnostics will face in future development.
