Experimental Therapeutic Trial of an Antibody against the Cell Adhesion molecule Gicerin for Lymphomas Using a Murine Cell Line

Chemotherapy, occasionally combined with radiotherapy, is a major method for treating lymphoma but frequently produces side-effects in patients. Thus, novel therapeutics should be developed as an alternative the chemotherapy in lymphoma patients. Although the cell adhesion molecule gicerins are almost entirely absent in most mature tissues, except for muscle and endothelial cells, various neoplastic cells strongly express gicerin in their cell membranes. This suggests the potential function of gicerin in the progression of tumors, including tumor growth, invasion and metastasis to distant organs from primary sites. In the present study, we assessed therapeutic effects of anti-gicerin antibodies on the murine lymphoma cell line YAC1. Gicerin was found to be expressed in the cell membrane of YAC1 cells and promoted the cell adhesion activity of the YAC1 cells on HUVECs, an endothelial cell line. In addition, YAC1 cells were implanted sub-cutaneously in mice in order to examine the therapeutic effects of anti-gicerin antibodies on lymphoma progression in vivo. The anti-gicerin antibodies suppressed and reduced the lymphoma tumor growth in the mice, whereas the growth of tumor mass was not inhibited by pre-immune IgG administrations. YAC1 cells were also implanted intravenously in mice in order to examine the effects of anti-gicerin antibodies on the pulmonary metastasis of lymphoma cells. The metastasis of the YAC1 cells to the lungs was inhibited by the injection of anti-gicerin antibodies. These findings indicate that anti-gicerin antibodies inhibit the progression of prednisolone-resistant lymphoma, making this a promising novel therapeutic method for treating refractory lymphoma cases.

Different influence of Arac combined with idarubicin and with daunorubicin on malignant molecule expression of acute myelocytic leukemia

Objective:To study the different influence of idarubicin + Arac (IA) therapy and daunorubicin + Arac (DA) therapy on malignant molecule expression of acute myelocytic leukemia. Methods: A total of 56 patients who were diagnosed with acute myelocytic leukemia in Kashgar Prefecture First People's Hospital between January 2014 and September 2017 were selected as the research subjects and randomly divided into IA group and DA group, and the expression levels of proliferation genes, apoptosis genes and invasion genes in bone marrow tissue were determined after they accepted two courses of different chemotherapy regimens. Results:After two courses of chemotherapy, Daxx, CDX2, MCL1, BCL2, SOX4, S100A6, MMP9, N-cadherin, ICAM-1 and SDF-1 protein expression in bone marrow tissue of IA group were significantly lower than those of DA group whereas SHIP1, Bax and C/EBP protein expression were significantly higher than those of DA ***:IA solution for acute myelocytic leukemia can be more effective than DA solution to inhibit the expression of proliferation and invasion genes and increase the expression of apoptosis genes.

CO is increasingly appreciated as a signal molecule, due to its protective features, such as anti-inflammatoryfunction[1], anti-apoptosis[2]. Carbon monoxide -releasing molecules (CORMs) represent a group of compounds thatare capable of modulating physiological functions via liberating CO. Among various CORMs synthetized, CORM-3is one of the most promising compounds because it is soluble in water and the half-life to liberate CO in saline was10.6 h, thus imitating the action of CO more closely[3].

Maximally Entangled States in the Hydrogen molecule: The Role of Spin and Correlation

Many electron calculations on a simplest realistic two electron system i.e. H2molecule was applied and as the consequence correlation effects was reflected accurately in the wavefunctions of H2. Zanardi’s entanglement measurement, demonstrated that the maximum of entanglement for the ground state happens when U =J and this resolved the controversial conclusion of U = 0 for maximum entanglement. It was shown that the ground and third excited states are maximally entangled. These maximally entangled states and also the minimally entangled states are correlated to their spin’s property. The wavefunctions of the not magnetic (S = 0) ground and excited states explicitly depend on correlation parameters whereas the first excited states which is magnetic (S2 = 2 and Sz≠0) is not entangled. The second excited state is not magnetic but its wavefunction does not depend on correlation parameters therefore it is a moderately entangled state. In any case, by switching on a magnetic field an entangled state with Sz = 0 can be extracted from a not entangled degenerate magnetic state. We suggest that in a realistic molecular scale system, there is two criteria for finding maximally entangled electronic states, first the system should be in moderately correlated regime and second the system should have a non-magnetic (Sz = 0) electronic state.

Electromagnetically Induced Transparency Using a Artificial molecule in Circuit Quantum Electrodynamics

Electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) having wide applications in quantum optics and nonlinear optics is explored ordinarily in various atomic systems. In this paper we present a theoretical study of EIT using supercon- ducting circuit with a V-type artificial molecule constructed by two Josephson charge qubits coupled each other through a large capacitor. In our theoretical model we make a steady state approximation and obtain the analytical expressions of the complex susceptibility for the artificial system via the density matrix formalism. The complex susceptibility has additional dependence on the qubit parameters and hence can be tuned to a certain extent.

Effect of the adaptive intermittent ventilation before radical operation for lung cancer under one-lung ventilation on the non-ventilated lung tissue injury and apoptosis molecule protein expression

Objective: To study the effect of the adaptive intermittent ventilation before radical operation for lung cancer under one-lung ventilation on non-ventilated lung tissue injury and apoptosis molecule protein expression. Methods: A total of 288 patients who received radical operation for lung cancer in the hospital between February 2015 and January 2017 were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, each with 144 cases. Control group received routine one-lung ventilation, and observation group received preoperative adaptive intermittent ventilation of non-ventilated lung tissue. The differences in the levels of inflammatory factors and oxidative stress indexes in serum as well as the apoptosis molecule protein expression in affected-side normal lung tissue were compared between the two groups of patients immediately after intubation and at two-lung ventilation (T0) as well as 10 min before operation ended and at one-lung ventilation (T1). Results: At T0, the differences in the levels of inflammatory factors and oxidative stress indexes in serum as well as the apoptosis molecule protein expression in affected-side normal lung tissue were not significantly significant between the two groups of patients;at T1, IL-1β, IL-8, TNF-α, MPO and MDA levels in serum as well as Bax, caspase-2 and caspase-3 protein expression in normal lung tissue of observation group were lower than those of control group while SOD level in serum and Bcl-2 protein expression in normal lung tissue were higher than those of control group. Conclusion: Adaptive intermittent ventilation before radical operation for lung cancer under one-lung ventilation can effectively reduce the non-ventilated lung tissue injury and inhibit the apoptosis of normal lung cells.
