Position Optimization for mobile relay Communications with Constrained Energy over a Whole Horizontal Plane

This paper concerns the position optimization problem of a mobile relay over a whole horizontal plane.This problem is important because the position of a mobile relay directly affects the end-to-end performance,e.g.,reliability,connectivity,and data rate.In this paper,we propose a new position optimization scheme of a mobile relay over a whole horizontal plane based on the one-bit feedback information from the destination node,which improves the performance over the prior scheme whose position of the mobile relay is optimized over a fixed orbit.In the proposed scheme,the mobile relay is equipped with merely one single onboard antenna.Moreover,no prior information about the positions of both the source node and the destination node is required.Thus,the proposed scheme can work at low network resources scenario,which is particularly suitable for mobile relay communication with constrained energy,e.g.,the communications in a disaster area where the infrastructure is heavily damaged,volcano monitoring,and wireless powered communication networking.According to the characteristics of the proposed scheme,we further design two heuristic implementations to calculate the optimal position of a mobile relay over a whole horizontal plane.The first implementation has better steady performance whereas the second implementation has better convergence speed.We implement the proposed scheme and conduct an extensive performance comparison between the proposed scheme and prior schemes to verify the advantages of the proposed scheme.

Secrecy energy efficiency maximization for UAV-enabled multi-hop mobile relay system

To deal with the secrecy issues and energy efficiency issues in the unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) assisted communication systems, an UAV-enabled multi-hop mobile relay system is studied in an urban environment. Multiple rotary-wing UAVs with energy budget considerations are employed as relays to forward confidential information between two ground nodes in the presence of multiple passive eavesdroppers. The system secrecy energy efficiency(SEE), defined by the ratio of minimum achievable secrecy rate(SR) to total propulsion energy consumption(PEC), is maximized via jointly optimizing the trajectory and transmit power of each UAV relay. To solve the formulated non-convex fractional optimization problem subject to mobility, transmit power and information-causality constraints, an effective iterative algorithm is proposed by applying the updated-rate-assisted block coordinate decent method, successive convex approximation(SCA) technique and Dinkelbach method. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed joint trajectory design and power control scheme.

With the advantages of low cost and high mobility,unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)have played an important role in wireless communication.We investigate a UAV-enabled mobile relaying system,where a UAV is used as a mobile relay to assist in the communication from a ground source to a ground destination since their direct link is blocked.Unlike the conventional mobile relay in which the UAV adopts straight line or circular trajectory,we consider a more general elliptical trajectory and use realistic channel models.By assuming that the UAV employs time-division duplexing(TDD)based decode-and-forward(DF)relaying,we jointly optimize the time allocations and the UAV trajectory to formulate the maximization of spectrum efficiency(SE).The simulation results show that the trajectory we designed achieves a higher SE than the optimal circular trajectory and static relaying.

A trust framework based smart aggregation for machine type communication

Machine type communication(MTC) is one of the significant communication paradigms in the fifth generation networks. The existing cellular networks are not designed for massive access of the MTC devices.Therefore, data aggregation and relaying are advocated to reduce the massive MTC access besides other physical layer solutions. In this paper, we propose a secured multiple mobile relay selection algorithm that smartly aggregates data from adjacent MTC devices through multiple user equipments and transmits it to the base station(BS). The paper also presents a framework for the selection of trusted relays to cooperatively aggregate MTC data and render two-hop connectivity to the BS. Our proposed algorithm is compared with existing algorithms on the basis of energy efficiency, system capacity, communication delay and outage probability. Our proposed algorithm outperforms the other schemes by improving outage probability and communication delay by 33% and 25%, respectively.

随着以LTE和LTE-Advanced为主的4G系统的发展,以固定节点形成的网络结构已经无法有效地满足迅速增长的业务需求。形状、位置可动态变化的无定形小区,不仅能够对抗由网络自身的特性所引起的覆盖空洞,还可以增强覆盖、降低成本。基于这些,我们完全可以有理由相信,对无定形小区系统的研究将具有极大的理论价值和更广阔的应用前景。本文主要研究了无定形小区系统中的动态资源管理。首先,介绍了无定形小区系统的相关知识,主要包括定义、特点、场景等,并对mobile relay的结构进行了介绍,然后阐述了与mobile relay结构相对应的场景和切换过程。针对无定形小区系统,基于现有的mobile relay切换机制,本文研究了一种基于双天线架构的优化切换机制,以实现在高速铁路环境中的群切换,同时保证在切换过程中的为用户提供不间断通信服务,进而达到减少信令损耗、保证通信质量的目的。最后,针对无定形小区的移动性特点,基于马尔可夫决策过程,研究了考虑用户移动性的动态中继选择方法,使得中继的选择更能符合用户移动性和绿色通信的需求。本文结合现有的相关知识,针对无定形小区系统中的动态特性进行了相关研究,希望能为无定形小区的实际应用提供便利。

LTE-A作为B3G/4G的主流技术,能够较好的满足用户高速率、大容量的通信需求。随着研究的不断深入,LTE网络已经在一些国家和地区实现了部署。relay作为LTE-A的关键技术之一,在优化网络覆盖的同时,能够增大系统容量给系统带来增益。 3GPP相关提案关于中继的讨论主要集中在relay的帧格式设计、HARQ设计、回程链路设计等问题上。但是对于移动中继的研究还处于初步探究的程度。为了满足未来铁路移动通信系统日益增加的高速数据业务需求,LTE-Advanced系统对小区的平均吞吐量和小区边缘用户的数据速率提出了更高的要求。因此,在LTE-Advanced要求的高系统容量要求前提下,为了在高频段上实现大范围和高质量的覆盖,进一步改善移动通信网络的服务质量奠定基础,移动中继理论和技术备受关注。移动中继技术虽然在理论上可以获得覆盖和容量增益,降低网络建设成本。但这项技术带来的潜在问题也是很明显的,最主要的问题是新环境下的干扰复杂化问题,所以解决移动中继带来的干扰问题是重中之重。无线资源分配是一项重要的链路层技术,它为提高无线网络容量起到了不可替代的作用。LTE-A由于采用OFDM技术,简化了网络架构,提出了更高的频谱利用率和用户性能要求,因此LTE-A中的动态资源分配机制面临很多新的问题和挑战。本文首先从LTE-A的无线资源管理技术和移动中继相关内容入手。结合铁路沿线的小区分布特点以及旅客通信资源的需求,对铁路沿线小区中mobile relay的部署以及无线资源的需求进行了介绍。论文分析了LTE-A网络中,基于铁路沿线小区无线信道分配的现有技术策略、存在的问题等。并提出了新的基于铁路沿线小区的无线信道分配策略。在高系统容量的前提下得到了更优的频谱性能改善,提高服务质量。论文还分析了铁路沿线线性小区的无线频谱规划的现状及存在的问题,并给出了不同场景下的新的规划策略以及解决方案。论文最后还对LTE-A中继无线资源管理技术进行了展望。
