Objective: Baicalin is a major active ingredient from Radix Scutellariae, and has various pharmacological effects, such as anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, anti-virus, and antioxidant effects. Presently, the available baicalin dosage forms are tablets and capsules for the treatment of acute and chronic hepatitis. Due to its poor water solubility, low lipid solubility, and obvious first pass effect, baicalin has very low oral bioavailability. To improve its solubility and mitigate its first-past effect, baicalin-loaded microemulsion-based gel（B-MEG） was prepared for improving transdermal delivery of baicalin. Methods: The formulation of baicalin-loaded microemulsions（B-ME） was determined by the equilibrium solubility and the pseudo-ternary phase diagram method. With ethyl oleate acting as oil phase, tween 80 as surfactant, and glycerin as cosurfactant, water was added dropwise to the oil phase to prepare microemulsion at room temperature under magnetic stirring. HPLC method was used to determine the content of baicalin in B-ME. Central composite design and split-split plot design were used to screen out and optimize the preparation methods for B-ME and B-MEG. The amount of the gel matrix and the amount and type of the transdermal enhancer were examined to select the appropriate composition of B-MEG. Franz diffusion cell was used to evaluate the microemulsion and gel transdermal profile in vitro. Transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy and laser particle size analyzer were used to characterize the shape and size of B-ME and B-MEG. Xylene-induced mouse ear edema model（model control group, 2 mg/kg compound acetic acid dexamethasone ointment, 25 mg/kg, 100 mg/kg B-MEG and free-baicalin MEG groups, for 4 days） was used to observe the anti-inflammatory effects of B-MEG. Studies on Manganese Peroxidase Immobilized in gelatin-containing microemulsion-based gels

The immobilized technique of manganese peroxidase(MnP) in gelatin-containing microemulsion-based gels and the effects of storage time and reuse times on its catalytic activity were studied. The results show that the MnP immobilized together with Mn 2+ and H_2O_2 could effectively oxidize syringaldazine in n-heptane. The immobilized MnP still had a high catalytic activity after one-month storage under a freezing condition. The reuse times have a relation to the amount of the immobilized H_2O_2. When the amount of the immobilized H_2O_2 is sufficient, the microemulsion-based gels containing MnP could be used many times.

based on an unusual reversible sol-gel transition phenomenon. a novel method for the fabrication of a lipase electrode was developed. The response characteristics of the biosensor was studied by potentiometric technique using olive oil as substrate. After optimization, the lipase electrode demonstrated high activity and good stability.
