Induction of seed germination in Orobanche *** extracts of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs

The co-evolution of Orobanche *** their hosts within the same environment has resulted in a high degree of adaptation and effective parasitism whereby the host releases parasite germination stimulants,which are likely to be unstable in the *** objective was to investigate whether extracts from non-host plants,specifically,Chinese medicinal plants,could stimulate germination of Orobanche *** of 606 Chinese medicinal herb species were extracted with deionized water and *** extracts were used to induce germination of three Orobanche species;Orobanche minor,Orobanche cumana,and Orobanche *** exhibited a wide range of germination responses to the various herbal *** and *** exhibited an intermediate germination response to the herbal ***,which has a narrow host spectrum,showed higher germination rates in response to different herbal extracts compared with those of *** and ***,which have a broader host *** extracts of many Chinese herbal species effectively stimulated seed germination among the Orobanche spp.,even though they were not the typical *** effective herbs represent interesting examples of potential trap *** countries can also screen extracts from indigenous herbaceous plants for their ability to induce germination of Orobanche *** use of such species as trap plants could diminish the global soil seed bank of Orobanche.

Orobanche *** Germination Induced by Cannabis Sativa

Orobanche is a devastating root parasitic *** distributes around the world,causing serious damage to many important crops,such as sunflower,beans,tomato and the *** causes serious loss at 20%-70% yields on melon and watermelon farming in Xinjiang;while *** results in 72%-90% loss on sunflower,in some severe devastated region sunflower crop *** hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) is an herbaceous annual belonging to the family Cannabinaceae,is one of our oldest fiber *** is a long history of cultivation on hemp throughout the *** can grow and develop well under a total effective temperature at 2400-3200℃,with the average temperature at 19-23℃.Current research mostly focuses on the textile,pharmacology,chemical composition analysis and cultivation breeding of *** terms of allelopathy,there is rarely a *** question was whether or not *** has potential to be used as a "catch crop" for Orobanche *** *** seeds were collected in 2011 in the Guyuan city,planted in rocket pots (height 25 cm,diameter 20 cm) placed in the Institute of Soil and Water Conservation yard shed in Northwest Agriculture and Forestry *** for the pot experiment was collected from the surface orizon (0-20 cm) of a cultivated field in Yangling,and prepared by crushing,exposure,sieving (10 mm).To answer that question,methanolic and aqueous extracts of plant tissues(roots,stems and leaves) from *** were collected at different growth *** seeds germination rate of melon broomrape (Orobanche aegytiace Pers) and sunflower broomrape (Orobanche cumana Wallr.) treated with root extracts,stem extracts,and leaf extracts was *** results showed that seeds germination rate induced by methanol extracts of roots were higher than that of stems and *** hemp root methanolic extracts induced highest germination rate at seedling stage (41.49% and 32.07% with undiluted and 10-fold diluted extracts induced respectively).Wh
