White light emission in 0D halide perovskite[(CH_(3))_(3)S]_(2)SnCl_(6)·H_(2)O crystals through variation of doping ns^(2) ions

With the rapid development of white LEDs,the research of new and efficient white light emitting materials has attracted increasing attention.Zero dimensional(0D)organic–inorganic hybrid metal halide perovskites with superior luminescent property are promising candidates for LED application,due to their abundant and tailorable structure.Herein,[(CH_(3))_(3)S]_(2)SnCl_(6)・H_(2)O is synthesized as a host for dopant ions Bi^(3+)and Sb^(3+).The Sb^(3+)doped,or Bi^(3+)/Sb^(3+)co-doped,[(CH_(3))3S]_(2)SnCl_(6)・H_(2)O has a tunable optical emission spectrum by means of varying dopant ratio and excitation wavelength.As a result,we can achieve single-phase materials suitable for emission ranging from cold white light to warm white light.The intrinsic mechanism is examined in this work,to clarify the dopant effect on the optical properties.The high stability of title crystalline material,against water,oxygen and heat,makes it promising for further application.

Unraveling the triplet excited-state dynamics of Bi^(3+)in vacancyordered double perovskite Cs_(2)SnCl_(6) nanocrystals

Luminescent metal halides doped with ns^(2-)metal ions such as 6s^(2-)metal Bi^(3+)have aroused reviving interest owing to their outstanding optical properties;however,the origin of the photoluminescence(PL)remains controversial and unclear.Herein,we report a strategy for the controlled synthesis of Bi^(3+)-doped vacancy-ordered double perovskite Cs_(2)SnCl_(6)nanocrystals(NCs)and unravel the triplet excited-state dynamics of Bi^(3+)through temperature-dependent PL and ultrafast femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopies.Owing to the aliovalent Bi^(3+)doping in the spatially confined zero-dimensional(0D)structure of Cs2SnCl6,Bi^(3+)ions experience an enhancive Jahn-Teller distortion in the excited state,which results in intense broadband blue PL originating from the inter-configurational 3P0,1→1S0 transitions of Bi^(3+)at 450 nm,with a large Stokes shift and a quantum yield of 35.2%.Specifically,an unusual thermal-enhanced Jahn-Teller splitting of the excitation band and a remarkable transition of the PL lifetime from ms at 10 K toμs at 300 K were observed,as solid evidence for the isolated Bi^(3+)emission.These findings clarify the controversy about the PL origin in ns^(2-)metal ion-doped lead-free luminescent metal halides,thereby paving the way for exploring their optoelectronic applications.

Efficient Carbon-Based CsPbBr_3 Inorganic Perovskite Solar Cells by Using Cu-Phthalocyanine as Hole Transport Material

metal halide perovskite solar cells(PSCs) have attracted extensive research interest for next-generation solution-processed photovoltaic devices because of their high solar-to-electric power conversion efficiency(PCE)and low fabrication cost. Although the world's best PSC successfully achieves a considerable PCE of over 20% within a very limited timeframe after intensive efforts, the stability, high cost, and up-scaling of PSCs still remain issues. Recently, inorganic perovskite material, CsPbBr_3, is emerging as a promising photo-sensitizer with excellent durability and thermal stability, but the efficiency is still embarrassing. In this work, we intend to address these issues by exploiting CsPbBr_3 as light absorber, accompanied by using Cu-phthalocyanine(CuPc) as hole transport material(HTM) and carbon as counter electrode. The optimal device acquires a decent PCE of 6.21%, over 60% higher than those of the HTM-free devices. The systematic characterization and analysis reveal a more effective charge transfer process and a suppressed charge recombination in PSCs after introducing CuPc as hole transfer layer. More importantly, our devices exhibit an outstanding durability and a promising thermal stability, making it rather meaningful in future fabrication and application of PSCs.

metal halide perovskites based on MX6(M is metal and X is halogen)octahedra have developed into significant materials,extensively used in many fields,such as solid-state lighting,semiconductor,and nonlinear optics.However,the MX_(5)square pyramid-based hybrid metal halides beyond zero-dimensional(0D)polyhedrons and clusters are rarely reported.Herein,we reported two new isostructural hybrid antimony halides,namely(2cepyH)SbCl4(1-Cl)and(2cepyH)SbBr4(2-Br)(2cepy=1-(2-chloroethyl)pyrrolidine),characterized by 1D polar polyanionic chains formed by corner-sharing SbX_(5)tetragonal pyramid units.Upon photoexcitation at 340 nm,1-Cl shows broad,yellow phosphorescence emissions stemming from triplet self-trapped excitons,as proved by its long lifetime(6.85μs)and the temperature dependences of broadband emission.To our knowledge,this should be the first observation on the broadband emissive properties in the 1D hybrid metal halide constructed by MX_(5)tetragonal pyramid units.Moreover,second harmonic generation measurements show that the nonlinear optical properties of 2-Br(∼3.2×KDP)are superior to that of 1-Cl(∼1.8×KDP).Experimental and calculated data indicate that the bandgap of 1-Cl is larger than that of 2-Br and that the polar inorganic moieties determine their band structures.Our work opens up a new way for constructing broadband emission materials with novel polar frameworks.
