As voltage measuring devices are widely used in the high voltage power system with a primary-secondary-fusion structure,electronic voltage transformers are directly connected to the primary conductor and would face much more serious electromagnetic environments than general secondary equipment.As a result,they would still experience failures even when general protection measures are adopted to suppress overvoltages'amplitudes.To address this issue,an innovative method is proposed after analyses are conducted on the resonance between a transformer and an overvoltage.Within this method,an air-cored coil is installed in a transformer to artificially shift its natural frequency and to dodge the high-frequency dominant component of a transient overvoltage,avoiding the aforementioned resonance and suppressing the secondary overvoltage.In addition,simulations and laboratory tests are conducted to prove this method's validity.

Dear Editor,This letter presents an inspection method for process monitoring of underwater oil transportation via multiple autonomous underwater vehicles(AUV).To improve the adaptability of our method in practice,we introduce the dynamic complex ocean current data to the previously mentioned case by using regional ocean modeling system(ROMS)for the first time.

OBJECTIVE To investigate which history of cardiovascular disease[coronary heart disease(CHD),stroke,or peripheral arterial disease]in a first-degree family member predicts cardiovascular mortality.METHODS We studied a prospective cohort(the Lipid Research Clinics Prevalence Study)from ten primary care centers across North America.The primary outcome was cardiovascular mortality,assessed using Cox survival models.RESULTS There were 8,646 participants(mean age:47.4±12.1 years,46%women,52%of participants with hyperlipidemia)who were followed up for a mean duration of 19.4±4.9 years.There were 1,851 deaths(21%),including 852 cardiovascular deaths.A paternal,maternal or sibling history of premature CHD(before 60 years)was present in 26%of participants,of stroke in 27%of participants,and of peripheral arterial disease in 24%of participants.After adjusting for risk factors(age,sex,systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure,body mass index,smoking,fasting glucose,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglycerides),only a paternal history of premature or any CHD,a maternal history of diabetes mellitus or premature or any CHD,and a sibling history of premature CHD,hypertension,or hyperlipidemia were individually predictive of cardiovascular mortality.After adjusting for risk factors and the mentioned familial factors,only paternal and maternal histories of CHD,espe-cially before 60 years,remained predictive of cardiovascular mortality,with a somewhat higher association for a maternal history[adjusted hazard ratio(aHR)=1.99,95%CI:1.36−2.92,P<0.001 for maternal history of premature CHD;aHR=1.52,95%CI:1.10−2.10,P=0.011 for paternal history of premature CHD].Family history of stroke or peripheral arterial disease did not predict cardiovascular mortality.Parental history of premature CHD predicted cardiovascular mortality independently of baseline age(<60 years and≥60 years),hypertension,or hyperlipidemia and carried more important prognostic value in men rather than wo-men.CONCLUSIONS In this study,a parental history

Ultrasonic fluid bubble detection is important in industrial controls,aerospace systems and clinical medicine because it can prevent fatal mechanical failures and threats to life.However,current ultrasonic technologies for bubble detection are based on conventional bulk PZT-based transducers,which suffer from large size,high power consumption and poor integration with ICs and thus are unable to implement real-time and long-term monitoring in tight physical spaces,such as in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO)systems and dialysis machines or hydraulic systems in aircraft.This work highlights the prospect of capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducers(CMUTs)in the aforementioned application situations based on the mechanism of received voltage variation caused by bubble-induced acoustic energy attenuation.The corresponding theories are established and well validated using finite element simulations.The fluid bubbles inside a pipe with a diameter as small as 8 mm are successfully measured using our fabricated CMUT chips with a resonant frequency of 1.1 MHz.The received voltage variation increases significantly with increasing bubble radii in the range of 0.5–2.5 mm.Further studies show that other factors,such as bubble positions,flow velocities,fluid medium types,pipe thicknesses and diameters,have negligible effects on fluid bubble measurement,demonstrating the feasibility and robustness of the CMUT-based ultrasonic bubble detection technique.

Covalent adaptable networks(CANs)combine the uniqueness of thermoplastics and thermosets to allow for reprocessability while being covalently crosslinked.However,it is highly desirable but rarely achieved for CANs to simultaneously demonstrate reversibility and mechanical robustness.Herein,we report a feasible strategy to develop a novel epoxy vitrimer(EV)composed of adaptable phosphate networks(APNs),by which the EVs exhibit promising mechanical properties(tensile strength of 62.5~87.8 MPa and tensile modulus of 1360.1~2975.3 MPa)under ambient conditions.At elevated temperatures,the topology rearrangement occurs relied on phosphate transesterification,which contributes to the shape memory performance,selfhealing,reprocessing,and welding behaviors.Moreover,the incorporation of APNs allows for improvements in anti-ignition and also the inhibition of both heat release and smoke generation to avoid empyrosis,asphyxiation,and toxication during burning,showing expected intrinsic fire safety.Thermal,mechanical properties,and flame retardancy of the reprocessed EVs after hot pressing are very close to those of the original EVs,which is attributed to the suficient reversibility of APNs.Accordingly,combining the aforementioned features,EVs are manufactured as flame-triggered switches for fire alarms,which symbolizes the innovative development of high-performance covalent adaptable polymeric materials.

As intracerebral hemorrahge becomes more frequent as a result of an aging population with greater comorbidities,rapid identification and reversal of precipitators becomes increasingly paramount.The aformentioned population will ever more likely be on some form of anticoagulant therapy.Understanding the mechanisms of these agents and means by which to reverse them early on is critical in managing the acute intracerebral hemorrhage.
