Getting physical with medical education:Exercise based virtual anatomy review classes for medical students

The benefits of regular physical activity are well ***,few studies have examined the effectiveness of integrating physical activity(PA)into curricula within a post-secondary *** investigate the incorporation of PA into medical curriculum,we developed a series of optional exercise-based review sessions designed to reinforce musculoskeletal(MSK)anatomy course *** synchronous sessions were co-taught by a group fitness instructor and an anatomy *** fitness instructor would lead students through both strength and yoga style exercises,while the anatomy instructor asked questions about relevant anatomical structures related to course material previously *** the sessions,participants were asked to evaluate the classes on their self-reported exam preparedness in improving MSK anatomy knowledge,PA levels,and mental *** participants completed surveys;a majority agreed that the classes increased understanding of MSK concepts(90.0%)and activity levels(97.7%).Many(70.0%)felt that the classes helped reduce *** majority of respondents(90.0%)agreed that the classes contributed to increased feelings of social ***,medical students saw benefit in PA based interventions to supplement MSK course *** with increasing activity levels and promoting health behaviours,integrating PA into medical curriculum may improve comprehension of learning material,alleviate stress and foster social connectivity among medical students.

The high rates of depression,burnout,and increased risk of suicide among medical students,residents,and physicians in comparison with other careers signal a mental health crisis within our *** contend that this crisis coupled with the inadequate acquisition of interpersonal skills during medical education results from the interaction between a challenging environment and the mental capital of ***,we posit that mindfulness-based practices are instrumental for the development of major components of mental capital,such as resilience,flexibility of mind,and learning skills,while also serving as a pathway to enhance empathy,compassion,self-awareness,conflict resolution,and relational ***,the evidence base supporting the effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions has been increasing over the years,and a growing number of medical schools have already integrated mindfulness into their *** we acknowledge that mindfulness is not a panacea for all educational and mental health problems in this field,we argue that there is currently an unprecedented opportunity to gather momentum,spread and study mindfulness-based programs in medical schools around the world as a way to address some longstanding shortcomings of the medical profession and the health and educational systems upon which it is rooted.

Eight-Year medical education Program:Retrospect and Prospect of the High-Level medical Talent Training in China

Purpose:The 8-year medical education program(EYMEP)is China's path to training high-level medical *** retrospect,this study systematically reviewed the developmental process of China's *** status quo and characteristics,and threats and challenges,were analyzed,along with the program’s ***/Approach/Methods:This study analyzed relevant textual materials and policy documents dating back to the time of hosting of China's EYMEP,as well as conducted various specific interviews and field ***:The exploration of China's high-level medical talent training has been conducted over a *** can be divided into five periods:the Only Host Period,the Duplication Pilot Host Period,the Expansion Period,the Joint Exploration Period,and the In-Depth Promotion ***,there are 14 universities and institutes hosting the EYMEP approved by the Ministry of education of the People's Republic of ***,they differ greatly in training ideas and goals,enrollment processes,and training ***'s EYMEP is faced with some external threats and internal *** the future,China's EYMEP should consider five ***/Value:In the new era of the reform and development of China's medical education,a systematic review of the development of EYMEP in China is of great significance to the promotion of high-level medical talent training in ***,the exploration course of China's highlevel medical talent training represented by the EYMEP may be an enlightenment for other countries,especially developing countries like China,in their training of high-level medical talents.

3D image system improves the learning curve and contributes to medical education of rhinoplasty

Background: Rhinoplasty is a complex surgical procedure that requires critical analysis and precise design before surgery, making it a challenging operation for both the surgical team and medical educators. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of 3D design involvement on learning curves and to establish a more effective method for rhinoplasty ***: Surgeons who participated in an educational program were divided into two groups. The experimental group was involved in the 3D design before the operation, and the control group was asked to review the rhinoplasty atlas. A self-assessment questionnaire was used to evaluate the learning curve of the eight rhinoplasty procedures for each surgeon, and the overall satisfaction rate data were also ***: The self-assessment scores in both groups showed an increasing trend from the first to the eighth operation. The mean scores of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group at the fifth operation(P=0.01). The satisfaction rate of the experimental group(91.7%) was higher than that of the control group(54.5%).Conclusion: The 3D imaging system can improve the learning curve and satisfaction rate of rhinoplasty education,proving that it is an easy and effective tool for medical education.

medical education in Japan changed rapidly in the last decade of the 20th century with the introduction of new education methods and implementation of the core curriculum and common achievement testing such as CBT and ***, there have been other movements in medical education in Japan that have introduced "outcome(competency) based education(OBE)" and created a system for accreditation of medical education programs. This report provides an overview of current medical education in Japan. Moreover, it introduces medical education at Tokyo Women's medical University.

Cross-cultural education is often understood to mean acquiring cultural knowledge about different cultural groups in order to serve people from diverse groups ***,this article argues that to work effectively in cross-cultural situations,we need to learn about our own culture and develop an approach of respectful *** first goal of cross-cultural education is to understand how culture influences our thoughts,perceptions,biases,and values at an unconscious *** second goal is to understand the nature of individual cultural identity as a multidimensional and dynamic construct through exploration of our own cultural *** exploration helps us understand the limitations of learning about‘others’through learning categorical information and helps us limit the effect of our implicit biases on our *** approach of respectful curiosity is recommended to question our assumptions,understand each unique individual patient,connect with each patient,and build the therapeutic relationship.

For over 100 years, medical education has achieved continuous development and progress all over theworld. Flexner＇s report in 1910 brought modern science into the curricula of medical schools. In the 1960s, problem-based learning （PBL） was born in Canada and quickly achieved wide use. From the beginning of the 21 st century, with increasing specialization in medicine, the ＂silo effect＂ has become more apparent. The inequality in healthcare and low efficiency of the entire health system has become prominent problems. These have brought about new challenges for medical education--how to implement accountable medical education so as to rectify the current situation. Therefore, ＂competency-based＂ medical education, as an important feature of the third generation medical education reform, has gradually become the trend. J However, currently in most medical schools in China, PBL is still flourishing, which indicates that we are still at the second generation of medical education reform.
