An Overview and Perspectives On Bidirectional Intelligence: Lmser Duality, Double IA Harmony,and Causal Computation

Advances on bidirectional intelligence are overviewed along three threads,with extensions and new perspectives.The first thread is about bidirectional learning architecture,exploring five dualities that enable Lmser six cognitive functions and provide new perspectives on which a lot of extensions and particularlly flexible Lmser are proposed.Interestingly,either or two of these dualities actually takes an important role in recent models such as U-net,ResNet,and Dense Net.The second thread is about bidirectional learning principles unified by best yIng-yAng(IA)harmony in BYY system.After getting insights on deep bidirectional learning from a bird-viewing on existing typical learning principles from one or both of the inward and outward directions,maximum likelihood,variational principle,and several other learning principles are summarised as exemplars of the BYY learning,with new perspectives on advanced topics.The third thread further proceeds to deep bidirectional intelligence,driven by long term dynamics(LTD)for parameter learning and short term dynamics(STD)for image thinking and rational thinking in harmony.Image thinking deals with information flow of continuously valued arrays and especially image sequence,as if thinking was displayed in the real world,exemplified by the flow from inward encoding/cognition to outward reconstruction/transformation performed in Lmser learning and BYY learning.In contrast,rational thinking handles symbolic strings or discretely valued vectors,performing uncertainty reasoning and problem solving.In particular,a general thesis is proposed for bidirectional intelligence,featured by BYY intelligence potential theory(BYY-IPT)and nine essential dualities in architecture,fundamentals,and implementation,respectively.Then,problems of combinatorial solving and uncertainty reasoning are investigated from this BYY IPT perspective.First,variants and extensions are suggested for AlphaGoZero like searching tasks,such as traveling salesman problem(TSP)and attributed graph matching(AGM)that ar

Characterization of energy and performance of swine fed a novel corn-soybean extruded product

Background： A novel extruded product was characterized with a metabolism and lactation trial to establish the product＇s energy content, and its effects on lactating sow performance. The product was composed of a 60：40 corn-soybean blend, which was then extruded. This product containing the co-extruded 60：40 corn-soybean blend was commercially developed and is used extensively in swine diets in southwest Minnesota. GE of dietary treatments were determined by isoperibol bomb calorimetry. Twelve barrows （59.9 ± 1.4 kg）, were used to determine the digestible and metabolizable energy of the extruded product. DE of treatments was determined by subtracting fecal energy from GE provided to barrows by each respective treatment. me was determined by subtracting urinary energy from calculated digestible energy. Sixty-three sows were used for the lactation trial. Three dietary treatments were utilized： CONTROL （an industry standard diet）; PRODUCT （contained the product, vitamins and minerals）; OIL （matched the lysine：me ratio of PRODUCT by addition of soy oil）. Sow weight, backfat thickness at the right and left last ribs, body condition score, number of piglets, and litter weights were recorded on the date of farrowing （d 0）, （d 9）, and at weaning. Blood and milk samples were obtained at weaning, and blood was analyzed for plasma urea nitrogen （PUN）, milk was analyzed for total protein and fat content. Results： On a dry-matter basis, the test diet provided 3,908 kcal/kg DE and 3,833 kcal/kg me, which was significantly greater than the basal diet, which provided 3,633 kcal/kg DE and 3,567 kcal/kg me （P 〈 0.0001）. These data were used to establish the DE and me of the product, which were 3,882 kcal/kg and 3,798 kcal/kg, respectively, on an as-fed basis. No effect of diet was observed for changes in sow backfat （RBF P = 0.24; LBF P = 0.07） or body condition score （P = 0.12） during lactation. Milk total protein （P = 0.69）, fat （P = 0.66）, PUN, average piglet gain （P = 0.55） and piglet mortality （P = 0.70） did not differ between

Based on a Tweedie-type formula developed under the Laplace distribution,this paper proposes a new bias-corrected estimator of the regression parameters in a simple linear model when the measurement error follows a Laplace distribution.Large sample properties,including the consistency and the asymptotic normality,are investigated.The finite sample performance of the proposed estimators are evaluated via simulation studies,as well as comparison studies with some existing estimation procedures.

Influence of Substrate Negative Bias on Structure and Properties of TiN Coatings Prepared by Hybrid HIPIMS method

TiN coatings were deposited using a hybrid home-made high power impulse magnetron sputtering(HIPIMS)technique at room temperature.The effects of substrate negative bias voltage on the deposition rate,composition,crystal structure,surface morphology,microstructure and mechanical properties were investigated.The results revealed that with the increase in bias voltage from-50 to-400 V,TiN coatings exhibited a trend of densification and the crystal structure gradually evolved from(111) orientation to(200)orientation.The growth rate decreased from about 12.2 nm to 7.8 nm per minute with the coating densification.When the bias voltage was-300 V,the minimum surface roughness value of 10.1 nm was obtained,and the hardness and Young’s modulus of TiN coatings reached the maximum value of 17.4 GPa and 263.8 GPa,respectively.meanwhile,the highest adhesion of 59 N was obtained between coating and substrate.

Protective Effect of Mulberry Extract against Pb-induced Learning and memory Deficits in Mice

Lead （Pb） is ubiquitous in the environment, and low-level Pb exposure can cause neurotoxicity and irreversible damage to children＇s cognition, learning and memory ability. Nutritional intervention is an effective method to prevent Pb poisoning. Mul- berry is rich in anthocyanins, possessing protective effects for nerves. This study investigated the neuroprotective effects of mulberry extract （me） against Pb-induced learning and memory deficits in mice. The results showed that the learning and memory abilities of mice, assessed using the Morris test, improved significantly after treatment with me at a dose of 100 mg/kg body weight. The level of Pb in the brains of mice in the three me intervention groups decreased significantly, while NO production and anti-oxidant enzymes were significantly restored. It is suggested that me inhibits Pb-induced neurotoxicity by reversing Pb-induced alterations in the aspect of neurotoxic effects and improving learning and memory.

MO SERIES ANALYSIS AND me SERIES ANALYSIS

In this paper, a kind of random-nonlinear model is established and the MO series with the me series are led by the compound-order filtering. This modelprovides a new method of the time series analysis in theory, opens a prospect for its application. We shall discuss the statistical properties of both MO series and me series. Theorems of their distribution are proven by a series of recurrent equations, and numcrical algorithms of these distributions are determined. The correlation properties of MO series are analyzed, three kinds of asymptotic distribution of the me series are considered, and the distribution of a high-dimmensional me series is given. In the meanwhile, some application of these series and their corresponding filterings to the image processing are briefly introduced.

Interface Effects on the Magnetoelectric Properties of Magnetoelectric Multilayer Composites

The magnetoelectric （me） effect is studied in the terfenol-D/Pb（Zr, Ti）03 （PZT） multilayer composites prepared by silver epoxy. A theoretical model reveals that the me voltage coefficient αE,31 is a constant when the total thickness of the multilayer composites is the same. However, the interface defects exist in multilayer composites in experiments and the interface energy loss increases with increasing the stacking periodicity, which leads to the gradual decrease of the me voltage coefficient αE,31. The resonant frequency of terfenol-D/PZT multilayer composites is independent of the stacking periodicity and agrees well with the predicted one. One can achieve strong me coupling by improving the interface conditions to meet the needs for practical applications.

MOST-BINARIZATION meTHOD FOR RESTORATION OF LINEARLY DEGRADED BINARY IMAGES

In this paper, the most-binarization method is proposed for restoration of linearly degraded binary images by using the a priori knowledge of binary-valued original images. Properties of the solution of this method are discussed and an algorithm for the solution is offered. meanwhile a sufficient condition of a nondegenerate LSI system is presented. Experimental results are given in comparison with constrained least squares and the maximum entropy method. It is shown that the most-binarization method greatly improves the restoration quality.

Development of a prototype of the me readout electronics onboard the HXMT satellite

A prototype of the me readout electronics onboard the Hard X-ray Modulate Telescope （HXMT） satellite is developed. Application Specific Integrated Chip （ASIC） is used to construct the front end electronics due to a large number of detectors. Field Programmable Gate Array （FPGA） is connected to the ASIC as a state machine controller and data FIFO in the DAQ system. A USB board is designed to communicate between the DAQ system and the computer. The design goals and features, the operation of the system and the preliminary performance of the prototype are described. The testing results show that the design goals of the prototype system have been achieved.
