Auto-amplifying dynamic behavior of heap and convection in granular material

Two experiments have been carried out to understand the physical characteristics of surface heap and internal convection of granular material.subjected to vertical vibration. The results show that they have a clear auto_amplifying behavior. An effective force leading to the heap and convection has been obtained, which includes the square and cubic terms of the local height.

C_(4)F_(7)N is considered to be the most potential alternative gas for SF_(6).However,harmful decomposition by-products generated by the discharge or overheating faults will pose threat to safe operation and service life of gas insulated equipment(GIE).Herein,we investigated the adsorption performance ofγ-Al_(2)O_(3)on C_(4)F_(7)N and its decomposition products to evaluate the possibility of using it as by-products adsorbent or exhaust treatment *** is found thatγ-Al_(2)O_(3)demonstrates superior adsorption capacity for CF_(4),C_(2)F_(6),C_(3)F_(8),C_(3)F_(6),C_(2)F_(4),and keeps stable after the *** first-principles calculation infers thatγ-Al_(2)O_(3)has stronger interaction with C_(4)F_(7)N,C_(3)F_(6)and C_(3)F_(8)than that of C_(2)F_(4),C_(2)F_(6)and CF_(4).There exists obvious charge transfer between C_(4)F_(7)N andγ-Al_(2)O_(3),which belongs to *** interaction between F 2p orbital and C=Cπorbital determines the gas-solid adsorption *** desorption properties were also explored and the recovery time was in order of CF_(4)material.for C_(4)F_(7)N wasted gas.

Transparent microelectrode arrays enable simultaneous electrical recording and optical imaging of neuronal networks in the *** made of the conducting polymer poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)doped with polystyrene sulfonate(PEDOT:PSS)are transparent;however,device fabrication necessitates specific processes to avoid deterioration of the organic ***,we present an innovative fabrication scheme for a neural probe that consists of transparent PEDOT:PSS electrodes and demonstrate its compatibility with 2-photon *** electrodes show suitable impedance to record local field potentials from the cortex of mice and sufficient transparency to visualize GCaMP6f-expressing neurons underneath the PEDOT:PSS *** results validate the performance of the neural probe,which paves the way to study the complex dynamics of in vivo neuronal activity with both a high spatial and temporal resolution to better understand the brain.

The DArk Matter Particle Explorer(DAMPE)is a satellite-borne detector for high-energy cosmic rays and *** fully understand the detector performance and obtain reliable physical results,extensive simulations of the detector are *** simulations are particularly important for the data analysis of cosmic ray nuclei,which relies closely on the hadronic and nuclear interactions of particles in the detector *** adopted simulation softwares include the GEANT4 and FLUKA,both of which have been implemented for the DAMPE simulation *** we describe the simulation tool of DAMPE and compare the results of proton shower properties in the calorimeter from the two simulation *** a comparison gives an estimate of the most significant uncertainties of our proton spectral analysis.

Structural,elastic,electronic,chemical bonding and optical properties of the cubic RbPbF 3 compound under pres-sure are studied using a highly accurate state-of-the-art full potential linearized augmented plane wave *** exchange correlation effects are included through the generalized gradient and modified Becke–Johnson ex-change *** lattice constant and band gap of the cubic RbPbF 3 decreases with enhanced *** 3 is brittle,elastically anisotropic,and a direct bandgap *** optical properties such as refractive index𝑜(ω),extinction coefficient𝑙(ω),reflectivity𝑆(ω),and optical conductivity𝜏(ω)are predicted.

The ab initio pseudopotential local-density studies on the electronic structure and geometry of a theoretical solid are presented with Al_(12)Ge cluster serving as the building block of the *** results show that bulk material.formed from cubic close-packing of All2Ge clusters will eventually be an aluminum-like metal when lattice parameter of the solid and atomic geometry of the clusters are optimized by the crystal field.

Amorphous CN:Ti films deposited by using the reactive magnetron sputtering method were annealed in vacuum under 200 to 600℃. Incorporation of Ti (less than 3at.%) has brought some new perspectives to the material. Electron-energy-loss spectrum indicates improved conductivity in CN:Ti films as in the insulating CN films. The high-resolution core-level x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) studies show that most carbon atoms form homeopolar bonding in as-deposited CN:Ti film. While the N Is line always shrinks with increasing annealing temperature, the total full width at half maximum of C Is line decreases only at annealing temperature over 300℃ when the broadening due to heterobonding formation is outdone by the effect of increasing order. An enhanced π-band feature in the valence-XPS spectra at high annealing temperatures confirms the graphitization tendency of this material.
