Objective To study the humoral immunity status and distribution pattern of lymphocyte subgroups of peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) in patients with Kashin-Beck Disease (KBD), and their relationship with erythrocyte selenium. Methods 23 X-ray diagnosed patients, 22 age- and sex- matched healthy children in KBD affected area (KAA), and 25 in KBD non-affected area (KNAA) were randomly selected. Immunohistochemistry with monoclonal antibodies anti-CD4, anti-CD8, anti-CD20 was conducted to analyze the lymphocyte subsets. Serum IgM, IgA, IgG, Complement C3 and C4 were assayed using rate nephelometry (Array 360 System, USA). The contents of erythrocyte selenium was determined by 2,3-diaminonaphthalene fluorescence assay. Results CD4+ and CD8+ cells percentage in PBMCs and serum IgA were significantly lower in KAA than those in KNAA(P 0.05) was found. Conclusion These results suggested that children in KAA had a comparably low cellular immunity level and their humoral immunity status was also in a state of moderate immune suppression. Of this immune disorder in Kashin-Beck disease patients, selenium deficiency probably played a critical role via affecting the distribution pattern of peripheral blood lymphocyte. Selenium-deficiency and immune impairment maybe both have something to do with the cause-effect chain of KBD.

This work was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 3870902). Objective: To determine the NK activity of lymphocyte subsets and the effects of low dose radiation. Methods: lymphocyte subsets were separated by monoclonal antibodies. The NK activity of each subset on tumor cells was detected by radioactive release method. Results: The results showed that besides NK cells, CD 4, CD 8 and B cells alone can kill tumor cells. But the cellkilling activity of NK cells appeared to be strongest. There was synergistic effect between CD 4 and NK cells. The activity of mixed lymphocytes was more than that of only one subset. The effect of low dose radiation (LDR) on NK activity of panlymphocytes or NK cells was different. Conclusion: This paper demonstrated that NK activity of mononuclear cells was called “NK activity of lymphocytes”, but it is not true. Only when NK cells were separated by monoclonal antibodies, its killer activity can be called “activity of NK cells”.

Objective： To evaluate whether radiofrequency ablation （RFA） might have an influence on immune status in hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） patients. Methods： We measured the T lymphocytes, B lymphocyte and NK cells, and determined the population of Thl, Th2, Tcl and Tc2 of peripheral blood samples taken from 26 HCC patients before and after RFA. Results： The proportion of Typel cells （Thl and Tcl） and NK cells were significantly increased after RFA, especially in patients of the following subgroups： male, age〉55 years, pathological grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ tumor, clinical stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ or Child-Pugh A and B. Conclusion： TypeⅠ cells and NK cells in HCC patients were increased in a short period after RFA.

Although millions of patients have clinically recovered from COVID-19,little is known about the immune status of lymphocytes in these *** this study,the peripheral blood mononuclear cells of a clinically recovered(CR)cohort were comparatively analyzed with those of an age-and sex-matched healthy donor *** found that CD8^(+)T cells in the CR cohort had higher numbers of effector T cells and effector memory T cells but lower Tc1(IFN-γ^(+)),Tc2(IL-4^(+)),and Tc17(IL-17A^(+))cell *** CD4^(+)T cells of the CR cohort were decreased in frequency,especially the central memory T cell ***,CD4^(+)T cells in the CR cohort showed lower programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1)expression and had lower frequencies of Th1(IFN-γ^(+)),Th2(IL-4^(+)),Th17(IL-17A^(+)),and circulating follicular helper T(CXCR5^(+)PD-1^(+))***,the proportion of isotype-switched memory B cells(IgM−CD20^(hi))among B cells in the CR cohort showed a significantly lower proportion,although the level of the activation marker CD71 was *** CD3−HLA-DR−lymphocytes in the CR cohort,in addition to lower levels of IFN-γ,granzyme B and T-bet,the correlation between T-bet and IFN-γ was not ***,by taking into account the number of days after discharge,all the phenotypes associated with reduced function did not show a tendency toward recovery within 4-11 *** remarkable phenotypic alterations in lymphocytes in the CR cohort suggest that severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection profoundly affects lymphocytes and potentially results in dysfunction even after clinical recovery.

AIM： To explore the effect of He .lie Tang （decoction for medication） on serum levels of T lymphocyte subsets, NK cell activity and cytokines in chronic hepatitis B patients. METHODS： Eighty-five patients with chronic hepatitis B were divided randomly into two groups. Fifty patients in group I were treated with He .lie Tang （HIT） and 35 patients in group II were treated with combined medication. The levels of T-lymphocyte subsets （CD^3＋, CD^4＋, CD^8＋）, NK cell activity, cytokines （TNF-α, IL-8, sIL-2R） were observed before and after the treatment. Another 20 normal persons served as group 3. RESULTS： The level of CD^4＋ cells and NK cell activity were lower, whereas the level of CD^8＋ cells in patients was higher than that in normal persons （t = 2.685, 3.172, and 2.754 respectively; P〈0.01）. The levels of TNF-α, IL-8, and sIL-2R in chronic hepatitis B patients were higher than those in normal persons （t = 3.526, 3.170, and 2.876 respectively; P〈0.01）. After 6 months of treatment, ALT, AST, and TB levels in the two groups were obviously decreased （t = 3.421, 3.106, and 2.857 respectively; P〈0.01）. The level of CD^4＋ cells and NK cell activity were increased whereas the level of CD^8＋ cells decreased （t = 2.179, 2.423, and 2.677 respectively; P〈0.05） in group I. The levels of TNF-α, IL-8, and sIL- 2R in group I were decreased significantly after the treatment （t = 2.611, 2.275, and 2.480 respectively; P〈0.05） but had no significant difference in groupII after the treatment （t = 1.906, 1.833, and 2.029 respectively; P〉0.05）. The total effective rate had no significant difference between the two groups （X^2 = 2.882, P〉0.05） but the markedly effective rate was significantly different between the two groups （X^2 = 5.340, P〈0.05）. CONCLUSION： HIT is effective in treating chronic hepatitis B. Background： lymphocyte subsets play important roles in rejection in liver transplant recipients, and the effect of splenic function on these roles remains unknown. The aim of this study was to explore the feasibility to adjust immunosuppressive agents based on splenic function status through detecting the lymphocyte subsets in liver transplant recipients. Methods： The lymphocyte subsets of 49 liver transplant recipients were assessed in the 309th Hospital of Chinese People＇s Liberation Army between June 2014 and August 2015. The patients were divided into splenectomy group （n - 9）, normal splenic function group （n = 24）, and hypersplenism group （n = 16）. The percentages and counts of CD4＋ T, CD8＋ T, natural killer （NK） cell, B-cell, regulatory B-cell （Breg）, and regulatory T-cell （Treg） were detected by flow cytometer. In addition, the immunosuppressive agents, histories of rejection and infection, and postoperative time of the patients were compared among the three groups. Results： There was no significant difference of clinical characteristics among the three groups. The percentage ofCD 19＋CD24＋CD38＋ Breg was significantly higher in hypersplenism group than normal splenic function group and splenectomy group （3.29±0.97% vs. 2.12 i 1.08% and 1.90 ± 0.99%, P = 0.001）. The same result was found in CD4＋CD25＋FoxP3＋ Treg percentage （0.97 ± 0.39% vs. 0.54 ±0.31% and 0.56 ± 0.28%, P = 0.001 ）. The counts of CD8＋ T-cell, CD4＋ T-cell, and NK cell were significantly lower in hypersplenism group than normal splenic function group （254.25 ± 149.08 vs. 476.96 ± 225.52, P = 0.002; 301.69 ±154.39 vs. 532.50 ±194.42, P= 0.000; and 88.56± 63.15 vs. 188.33± 134.51, P = 0.048）. Moreover, the counts of CD4＋ T-cell and NK cell were significantly lower in hypersplenism group than splenectomy group （301.69 ± 154.39 vs. 491.89 ± 132.31, P = 0.033; and 88.56 ± 63.15 vs. 226.00± 168.85, P 0.032）.
