An obstacle avoidance scheme of a two-wheeled mobile robot is shown by selecting an appropriate Lya- punov function. When considering the obstacle, the lyapunov function may have some local minima. A method which erases the local minima is proposed by using a function which covers the minima with a plane surface. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by numerical simulations.

It was shown that active queue management schemes implemented in the routers of communication networks sup-porting transmission control protocol (TCP) flows can be modelled as a feedback control system. In this paper based on lyapunov function we developed an optimal controller to improve active queue management (AQM) router’s stability and response time, which are often in conflict with each other in system performance. Ns-2 simulations showed that optimal controller outperforms PI controller significantly.

The authors consider the problem of boundary feedback stabilization of the 1D Euler gas dynamics locally around stationary states and prove the exponential stability with respect to the H2-norm. To this end, an explicit lyapunov function as a weighted and squared H2-norm of a small perturbation of the stationary solution is constructed. The authors show that by a suitable choice of the boundary feedback conditions, the H2- exponential stability of the stationary solution follows. Due to this fact, the system is stabilized over an infinite time interval. Furthermore, exponential estimates for the C norm are derived.

We consider the topological behaviors of continuous maps with one topological attractor on compact metric space *** kind of map is a generalization of maps such as topologically expansive Lorenz map,unimodal map without homtervals and so *** the finiteness and basin conditions,we provide a leveled A-R pair decomposition for such maps,and characterize α-limit set of each *** on weak Morse decomposition of X,we construct a bounded lyapunov function V(x),which gives a clear description of orbit behavior of each point in X except a meager set.

In this paper, we investigate one kind of complex-valued systems with an impulsive control field, where the complex-valued system is governed by the Schrödinger equation, which is used for quantum systems, etc. We study the convergence of the complex-valued system with impulsive control fields by one lyapunov function based on the state distance and the invariant principle of impulsive systems. We propose new results for the mentioned complex-valued systems in the form of sufficient conditions and also present one numerical simulation to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

This paper considers the time-varying formation problem for Multi-agent Systems,which the communication topology is *** consensus protocol is constructed based on relative states information of neighbor *** using the full rank decomposition of the Laplacian matrix,one linear transformation is introduced to transform the formation problem into consensus *** constructing a proper formation error vector,the formation problem with directed topology is converted into a stabilization problem of a reduced dimensionality error *** conditions are obtained using lyapunov *** new approach can relax the constraint of topology ***,numerical simulations are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the analytical results.

Potential function in Dynamical Systems and the Relation with lyapunov function

The paper deals with the consensus convergence analysis of discrete-time single-integrator multi-agent systems(MASs) in switching networks. Here, we suppose that the switching network is composed of strongly connected *** adopting a time-varying quadratic lyapunov function, we give the rigorous proof that the consensus of the single-integrator MASs can be achieved by either a constant-gain protocol or a decaying-gain protocol. This lyapunov function based consensus analysis method is different from some existed ones for unbalanced switching networks(e.g., the property of products of indecomposable and aperiodic matrices) and provides a new perspective to study the consensus problem of MASs in unbalanced switching networks with uncertainties(e.g., additive noises).

Stochastic stability of quasi-integrable Hamiltonian systems with time delay by using lyapunov function method

＜正＞One of the present authors has proposed a novel treatment of stochastic processes leading to the construction of potential functions for dynamics described by stochastic differential equations（SDEs）.The approach transforms the deterministic part of the original system into three components:a potential function,a frictional force and a Lorentz *** potential function drives the dynamics and determines the final steady state distribution that has both local and global *** note that such a potential is closely related to the classical lyapunov *** this paper,we first provide a brief review on the decomposition framework and then give a constructive proof on the equivalence of two fundamental concepts:the global lyapunov function in engineering and the potential function in physics,establishing a bridge between the two distinct fields. This result reveals the physical meaning of lyapunov functions,thus suggests new approaches on the largely unsolved problem: constructing lyapunov functions for general nonlinear systems,through the analogy with existing methods on potential functions. In addition,we show another connection that the lyapunov equation is a reduced form of the generalized Einstein relation for linear *** inheriting from a physical treatment of stochastic processes,this work demonstrates a stochastic view of deterministic systems together with the deterministic rules that govern stochastic behaviors.

The asymptotic lyapunov stability of one quasi-integrable Hamiltonian system with time-delayed feedback control is studied by using lyapunov functions and stochastic averaging method. First, a quasi-integrable Hamiltonian system with time-delayed feedback control subjected to Gaussian white noise excitation is approximated by a quasi-integrable Hamiltonian system without time delay. Then, stochastic averaging method for quasi-integrable Hamiltonian system is used to reduce the dimension of the original system, and after that the lyapunov function of the averaged It? equation is taken as the optimal linear combination of the corresponding independent first integrals in involution. Finally, the stability of the system is determined by using the largest eigenvalue of the linearized system. Two examples are used to illustrate the proposed procedure and the effects of delayed time on the lyapunov stability are discussed as well.
