The atomristor(monolayer two-dimensional(2D)-material memristor)is competitive in high-speed logic computing due to its binary feature,lower energy consumption,faster switch response,and so on.Yet to date,all-atomristor logic gates used for logic computing have not been reported due to the poor consistency of different atomristors in performance.Here,by studying band structures and electron transport properties of MoS2 atomristor,a comprehensive memristive mechanism is obtained.Guided by the simulation results,monolayer MoS2 with moderated defect concentration has been fabricated in the experiment,which can build atomristors with high performance and good consistency.Based on this,for the first time,MoS2 all-atomristor logic gates are realized successfully.As a demonstration,a half-adder based on the logic gates and a binary neural network(BNN)based on crossbar arrays are evaluated,indicating the applicability in various logic computing circumstances.Owing to shorter transition time and lower energy consumption,all-atomristor logic gates will open many new opportunities for next-generation logic computing and data processing.

Supercapacitor diode is a novel ion device that performs both supercapacitor energy storage and ion diode rectification functions.However,previously reported devices are limited by their large size and complex processes.In this work,we demonstrate a screen-printed micro supercapacitor diode(MCAPode)that based on the insertion of a finger mode with spinel ZnCo_(2)O_(4) as cathode and activated carbon as anode for the first time,and featuring an excellent area specific capacitance(1.21 mF cm^(-2)at 10 mV s^(-1))and high rectification characteristics(rectification ratioⅠof 11.99 at 40 mV s^(-1)).Taking advantage of the ionic gel electrolyte,which provides excellent stability during repeated flexing and at high temperatures.In addition,MCAPode exhibits excellent electrochemical performance and rectification capability in"AND"and"OR"logic gates.These findings provide practical solutions for future expansion of micro supercapacitor diode applications.

Skyrmion-based logic gates controlled by electric currents in synthetic antiferromagnet

Skyrmions in synthetic antiferromagnetic(SAF) systems have attracted much attention in recent years due to their superior stability, high-speed mobility, and completely compensated skyrmion Hall effect. They are promising building blocks for the next generation of magnetic storage and computing devices with ultra-low energy and ultra-high density.Here, we theoretically investigate the motion of a skyrmion in an SAF bilayer racetrack and find the velocity of a skyrmion can be controlled jointly by the edge effect and the driving force induced by the spin current. Furthermore, we propose a logic gate that can realize different logic functions of logic AND, OR, NOT, NAND, NOR, and XOR gates. Several effects including the spin–orbit torque, the skyrmion Hall effect, skyrmion–skyrmion repulsion, and skyrmion–edge interaction are considered in this design. Our work may provide a way to utilize the SAF skyrmion as a versatile information carrier for future energy-efficient logic gates.

Function-lock strategy in OR/NOR optical logic gates based on cross-polarization modulation effect in semiconductor optical amplifier

We have studied a function-lock strategy for all-optical logic gate （AOLG） utilizing the cross-polarization modulation （CPM） effect in a semiconductor optical amplifier （SOA）. By monitoring the power of logic light, the strategy realized controllable methods to capture OR and NOR functions and switch between them. The strategy has been successfully applied in experiment with 10-Gb/s not-return-to-zero （NRZ） signals, which has a high success-rate above 95% and ensures the high extinction ratio of result light above 11.4 dB. Every step in the strategy has definite numeric evaluation, which provides the potential of automatic implementation.

Facile and diverse logic circuits based on dumbbell DNA-templated fluorescent copper nanoclusters and S1 nuclease detection

DNA-based logic gates promote the development of molecular computing and show enormous potential in the fields of nanotechnology and biotechnology. Dumbbell oligonucleotides(DNA) with poly-thymine(poly-T) loops and a nicked random double strand have been demonstrated to be an efficient template for the formation of fluorescent copper nanoclusters(Cu NCs) in our previous work. Herein, a new platform technology is presented with which to construct molecular logic gates by employing Cu NCs probe as a basic output generator, coupling of functional nucleases as the inputs. Two dumbbell DNAs are used with the difference in stem length(8 bp and 16 bp, respectively). The degradation of DNA templates can be tuned by various nucleic acid enzymes, single-stranded nuclease(S1), double-stranded specific nuclease(DSN), E. coli DNA ligase, exonucleases Ⅰ and Ⅲ. Briefly, S1 can digest both DNA templates, while the cleavage ability of DSN will be resistant by the short stem of SS-DNA(short-stem DNA). Exonuclease Ⅰ and Ⅲ can degrade these two nicked DNA templates, which are inhibited due to the ligation of E. coli DNA ligase. With this novel strategy, a set of logic gates is successfully constructed at the molecular level,including “YES”, “PASS 0”, “OR”, “INHIBIT”, which take the advantages of no label, easy operation, fast speed, high efficiency and low cost. Furthermore, S1 nuclease, as the biomarker of numerous carcinogens,is selectively detected in the range of 0.05–50 U/m L with the detection limit of 0.005 U/m L(1×10^(−6)U)based on this platform.

Ultrathin flexible InGaZnO transistor for implementing multiple functions with a very small circuit footprint

There is a continuous demand to reduce the size of the devices that form a unit circuit,such as logic gates and memory,to reduce their footprint and increase device integration.In order to achieve a highly efficient circuit architecture,optimizations need to be made in terms of device processing.However,the time involved in the current reduction of device sizes according to Moore's Law has slowed down.Here,we propose a flexible transistor with ultra-thin IGZO(InGaZnO,indium-gallium-zinc-oxide)as the channel material,which not only scales down the footprints of multi-transistor logic gates but also combines the functions of the logic gates,memory,and sensors into a single cell.The transistor proposed here has an ultrathin semiconductor layer and can implement the typical functions of logic gates that conventionally have 2-6 transistors.Furthermore,it demonstrates the memory effect with a programming time as low as 5 ns.This design can also display various artificial synaptic behaviors.This new device design and structure can be adopted for the development of next-generation flexible electronics that require higher integration.

All-optical realization of × NOR logic gate using chaotic semiconductor lasers under phase modulator control

The theoretical construction of the fundamental × NOR gate using two injection semiconductor laser diodes due to mutual coupling is presented. Two laser diodes that are commonly driven by a monochromatic light beam result in chaos; however, chaotic synchronization between the two lasers may be achieved by coupling them. The all-optical logic gate is finally implemented by synchronizing or un-synchronizing appropriately the two chaotic states under a phase modulator （PM） control. Numerical results validate the feasibility of the method.

Field-programmable gate array-based large-capacity sensing network with 1642 ultra-weak fiber Bragg gratings

A field-programmable gate array （FPGA）-based large-capacity sensing network with ultra-weak fiber Bragg gratings （FBGs） is proposed and experimentally studied. The demodulation system is constructed to interrogate 1642 serial time-division-multiplexing FBGs with a peak refleetivity of about -40 dB and equal separations of 2.5 m. Two semiconductor optical amplifiers and an InGaAs linear sensor array controlled by an FPGA are introduced to the demodulation system to achieve fast, precise, and flexible interrogation. The low crosstalk and spectral distortion axe investigated through both theoretical analysis and experiments.

Constructing a universal set of quantum gates via probabilistic teleportation

We present a general method to construct a universal set of quantum gates using probabilistic teleportation as a basic primitive. The technique generalizes the teleportation method of gate construction to partially entangled quantum channels. Without recourse to local filtering or entanglement concentration, using local rotation and CNOT operations followed by measurements in the computational basis, one can construct many encoded quantum operations with unit fidelity but less than unit probability. The technique can also be applied to the construction of remote quantum gates that cannot be directly performed.

Theoretical Investigation of the Newly Designed Benzimidazole Based Metal Mediated DNA Base Couples with DFT Method

DNA has the genetic information storage and transmission capacity according to the sequential order of the monomer and creates a central role in the chemical evolution by copying itself with the proliferation feature. Watson-Crick base pairs define two base pairs with hydrogen bonds. If metal coordination bonds replace hydrogen bonds more stable alternative metallo-DNA sequence can be established. If the replication feature can be obtained for the metallo-DNA, this will greatly benefit the creation of DNA computer keys. In this study, a new type of benzimidazole based metallo-DNA sensors consisting of a connector unit that unsaturated azinil bridge linked to Watson-Crick base pairs with Ni2+, Hg2+, Zn2+, Ag+, Pt2+, Pd2+ metal cations and a benzimidazole has been designed. Absorption and emission spectrum of the newly designed aqua medium based fluorophore and their metallo-DNA sensors with selected cations have been theoretically investigated by using DFT method. The logic gates of selected possible sensors which response in the visible region have also been examined in detail in acidic and water phase. As a result of calculated absorption-emission spectrum data show that T-Hg-A-Bnz, A-Ni-T-Bnz, C-Pt-G-Bnz, C-Ni-C-Bnz complexes produce OR gate. T-Zn-T-Bnz and G-Pt-C-Bnz results demonstrated XOR and AND logic gate, respectively.
