Sodium taurocholate co-transporting polypeptide(NTCP)is encoded by the solute carrier family 10 member 1(SLC10A1)gene and is predominantly expressed on the sinusoidal membrane of hepatocytes with the function of hepatic uptake of bile salt,steroid hormones,thyroid hormones,and various bile-acid-conjugated *** 10 years ago,NTCP was identified as a functional cellular entry receptor of hepatitis B and hepatitis D viruses(HBV/HDV,respectively),1 which are among the major etiological factors leading to cirrhosis,liver failure,and hepatocellular carcinoma and affect around 250 million people *** studies have demonstrated that the binding site of HBV with NTCP is within the first 48 amino acid residues of the N-myristoylated preS1(myrpreS1)domain of the large envelope *** variations,such as amino acids 84–87 and 157–165 in the NTCP sequences,are responsible for susceptibility to HBV in different *** who carry the NTCP p.S267F polymorphism on both alleles are associated with increased resistance to chronic HBV *** and virology studies have shown common molecular determinants as well as function separation on the transporting of bile acids and mediating HBV/HDV ***,important questions remain unanswered:for example,the binding mode of bile acid or the preS1 lipopeptide to NTCP on the hepatocyte surface,how to differentiate the pathway of substrate uptake and virus infection,and the dynamics of substrate uptake and the molecular mechanisms of virus infection are all unknown。

From biological ecosystems to spin glasses,connectivity plays a crucial role in determining the function,dynamics,and resiliency of a *** the realm of non-Hermitian physics,the possibility of complex and asymmetric exchange interactions(|κ_(ij)|≠|κ_(ji)|)between a network of oscillators has been theoretically shown to lead to novel behaviors like delocalization,skin effect,and bulk-boundary *** archetypical lattice exhibiting the aforementioned properties is that proposed by Hatano and Nelson in a series of papers in late *** the ramifications of these theoretical works in optics have been recently pursued in synthetic dimensions,the Hatano-Nelson model has yet to be realized in real *** makes the implementation of these lattices challenging is the difficulty in establishing the required asymmetric exchange interactions in optical *** this work,by using active optical oscillators featuring non-Hermiticity and nonlinearity,we introduce an anisotropic exchange between the resonant elements in a lattice,an aspect that enables us to observe the non-Hermitian skin effect,phase locking,and near-field beam steering in a Hatano-Nelson laser *** work opens up new regimes of phase-locking in lasers while shedding light on the fundamental physics of non-Hermitian systems.

We present a numerically stable one-point quadrature rule for the stiffness matrix and mass matrix of the three-dimensional numerical manifold method(3D NMM).The rule simplifies the integration over irregularly shaped manifold elements and overcomes locking issues,and it does not cause spurious modes in modal *** essential idea is to transfer the integral over a manifold element to a few moments to the element center,thereby deriving a one-point integration rule by the moments and making modifications to avoid locking *** the stiffness matrix,after the virtual work is decomposed into moments,higher-order moments are modified to overcome locking issues in nearly incompressible and bending-dominated *** the mass matrix,the consistent and lumped types are derived by *** particular,the lumped type has the clear advantage of *** proposed method is naturally suitable for 3D NMM meshes automatically generated from a regular *** tests justify the accuracy improvements and the stability of the proposed procedure.
