Stochastic resonance （SR） of a periodically driven time-delayed linear system with multiplicative white noise and periodically modulated additive white noise is investigated. In the condition of small delay time, an approximate analytical expression of output signal-to-noise ratio （SNR） is obtained. The analytical results indicate that （1） there exists a resonance peak in the curve for SNR versus time delay; （2） the time delay will suspend the SR dramatically for SNR versus other parameters of the system, such as noise intensity, correlation intensity, and signal frequency, once a certain value is reached, the SR phenomenon disappears.

With regard to the bounded linear continuous-time system,a universal chaotic anti-controlling method was presented on the basis of tracking control.A tracking controller is designed to such an extent that it can track any chaotic reference input,thus making it possible to chaotify the linear system.The controller is identical in structure for different controlled linear systems.Computer simulations proved the effectiveness of the proposed method.

A parallel algorithm for solving block-diagonal structured large linear system is presented. This algorithm is based on the ″gradient-simplex″ method. It partitions a large linear system into several small linear subsystems so that they can be solved in parallel. The algorithm has the merit of high speed and is suitable for the large linear systems with less coupling constrains. The efficiency and applicability of the method is also analyzed.

This paper studies the fixed-time output-feedback control for a class of linear systems subject to matched uncertainties.To estimate the uncertainties and system states,we design a composite observer which consists of a high-order sliding mode observer and a Luenberger observer.Then,a robust output-feedback controller with fixed-time convergence guarantee is constructed.Rigorous theoretical proof shows that with the proposed controller,the system states can converge to zero in fixed-time free of the initial conditions.Finally,simulation comparison with existing algorithms is given.Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller in terms of its fixed-time convergence and perfect disturbance rejection.

We propose a novel symplectic finite element method to solve the structural dynamic responses of linear elastic systems.For the dynamic responses of continuous medium structures,the traditional numerical algorithm is the dissipative algorithm and cannot maintain long-term energy conservation.Thus,a symplectic finite element method with energy conservation is constructed in this paper.A linear elastic system can be discretized into multiple elements,and a Hamiltonian system of each element can be constructed.The single element is discretized by the Galerkin method,and then the Hamiltonian system is constructed into the Birkhoffian system.Finally,all the elements are combined to obtain the vibration equation of the continuous system and solved by the symplectic difference scheme.Through the numerical experiments of the vibration response of the Bernoulli-Euler beam and composite plate,it is found that the vibration response solution and energy obtained with the algorithm are superior to those of the Runge-Kutta algorithm.The results show that the symplectic finite element method can keep energy conservation for a long time and has higher stability in solving the dynamic responses of linear elastic systems.

By applying genetic algorithms (GA) to on-line identification of linear time-varying systems; a number of modifications are made to the Simple Genetic Algorithm to improve the performance of the algorithm in identification applications. The simulation results indicate that the method is not only capable of following the changing parameters of the system, but also has improved the identification accuracy compared with that using the least square method.

Dear editor,The basic concept of observability is used to express the possibility to recover the state from measurements in modern control theory [1–3]. It is a qualitative parameter,which cannot reflect the observable degree(OD) ability [4,5].Therefore, the OD is presented to quantitatively obtain the function. The quantitative parameter is effective for indicating the exact degree of estimation ability.

In this paper,the stability problem of continuous-time linear system via sampled output is investigated.By assumption that only sampled output can be available,a sampled-data based state observer is provided,by which a controller is constructed for the continuous-time linear system.By using the Lyapunov approach,the stability problem is addressed via our provided control law.Finally,a simulation example is provided to illustrate the efficiency of the theoretical analysis.
