This paper deals with the synthesis of fuzzy controller applied to the induction motor with a guaranteed model reference tracking performance. First, the Takagi-Sugeno （T-S） fuzzy model is used to approximate the nonlinear system in the synchronous d-q frame rotating with field-oriented control strategy. Then, a fuzzy state feedback controller is designed to reduce the tracking error by minimizing the disturbance level. The proposed controller is based on a T-S reference model in which the desired trajectory has been specified. The inaccessible rotor flux is estimated by a T-S fuzzy observer. The developed approach for the controller design is based on the synthesis of an augmented fuzzy model which regroups the model of induction machine, fuzzy observer, and reference model. The gains of the observer and controller are obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities （lmis）. Finally, simulation and experimental results are given to show the performance of the observer-based tracking controller.

This paper addresses robust controller design for uncertain linear systems via a dynamic observer-based controller. A dynamic observer is an alternative structure for a classical observer which can be regarded as a general form of a usual observer and has additional degrees of freedom in the observer structure. Using this new observer structure, a new observer-based controller for linear systems is proposed. Some strict linear matrix inequalities （lmis） have been given to find the dynamic observer parameters and controller gain. It is shown that dynamic observer can be used effectively for tackling the drawbacks of the classical observer-based robust controller design methods. As an advantage, lmis are derived even in the presence of uncertainties in system, input and output matrices simultaneously, whereas by using the traditional observer, bilinear matrix inequalities （BMIs） are given in the presence of such uncertainties. Moreover, the proposed lmis do not imply the equality constraint. Simulation results are used to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed design technique.

In this paper, the leader-following consensus problem for multi-agent linear dynamic systems is considered. All agents and leader have identical multi-input multi-output （MIMO） linear dynamics that can be of any order, and only the output information of each agent is delivered throughout the communication network. When the interaction topology is fixed, the leader-following consensus is attained by Ho~ dynamic output feedback control, and the sufficient condition of robust controllers is equal to the solvability of linear matrix inequality （LMI）. The whole analysis is based on spectral decomposition and an equivalent decoupled structure achieved, and the stability of the system is proved. Finally, we extended the theoretical results to the case that the interaction topology is switching. The simulation results for multiple mobile robots show the effectiveness of the devised methods.

In this paper, delay-dependent robust stabilization and H∞ control for uncertain stochastic Takagi-Sugeno （T-S） fuzzy systems with discrete interval and distributed time-varying delays are discussed. The purpose of the robust stochastic stabilization problem is to design a memoryless state feedback controller such that the closed-loop system is mean-square asymptotically stable for all admissible uncertainties. In the robust H∞ control problem, in addition to the mean-square asymptotic stability requirement, a prescribed H∞ performance is required to be achieved. Sufficient conditions for the solvability of these problems are proposed in terms of a set of linear matrix inequalities （lmis） and solving these lmis, a desired controller can be obtained. Finally, two numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness and less conservativeness of our results over the existing ones.

The problem on stabilization for the system with distributed delays is researched. The distributed time-delay under consideration is assumed to be a constant time-delay, but not known exactly. A design method is proposed for a memory proportional and integral （PI） feedback controller with adaptation to distributed time-delay. The feedback controller with memory simultaneously contains the current state and the past distributed information of the addressed systems. The design for adaptation law to distributed delay is very concise. The controller can be derived by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities （lmis）. Two numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the design method.

In this paper, we consider the problem of robust stability for a class of linear systems with interval time-varying delay under nonlinear perturbations using Lyapunov-Krasovskii （LK） functional approach. By partitioning the delay-interval into two segments of equal length, and evaluating the time-derivative of a candidate LK functional in each segment of the delay-interval, a less conservative delay-dependent stability criterion is developed to compute the maximum allowable bound for the delay-range within which the system under consideration remains asymptotically stable. In addition to the delay-bi-segmentation analysis procedure, the reduction in conservatism of the proposed delay-dependent stability criterion over recently reported results is also attributed to the fact that the time-derivative of the LK functional is bounded tightly using a newly proposed bounding condition without neglecting any useful terms in the delay-dependent stability analysis. The analysis, subsequently, yields a stable condition in convex linear matrix inequality （LMI） framework that can be solved non-conservatively at boundary conditions using standard numerical packages. Furthermore, as the number of decision variables involved in the proposed stability criterion is less, the criterion is computationally more effective. The effectiveness of the proposed stability criterion is validated through some standard numerical examples.

The stability and boundedness of mechanical system have been one of important research topics. In this paper ultimate boundedness of a dry friction oscillator, belonging to nonsmooth mechanical system, is investigated by proposing a controller design method. Firstly a sufficient condition of the stability for the nominal system with delayed state feedback is derived by constructing a Lyapunov-Krasovskii function. The delayed feedback gain matrix is calculated by applying linear matrix inequality method. Secondly on the basis of the delayed state feedback, a continuous function is designed by Lyapunov redesign to ensure that the solutions of the friction oscillator system are ultimately bounded under the overall control. Moreover, the ultimate bound can be adjusted in practice by choosing appropriate parameter. Accordingly friction-induced vibration or instability can be controlled effectively. Numerical results show that the pro- posed method is valid.

In this paper, the absolute stability of Lurie control system with probabilistic time-varying delay is studied. By using a new extended Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, an improved stability criterion based on lmis is presented and its solvability heavily depends on the sizes of both the delay range and its derivatives, which has wider application fields than those present results. The efficiency and reduced conservatism of the presented results can be demonstrated by two numerical examples with giving some comparing results.
