We have studied the thermoelectric properties through ferromagnetic leads-QD coupled system(F-QD-F)in the Kondo regime by nonequilibrium Green's functions method. The spin-flip effect induced by ferromagnetic leads and Kondo effect influence the thermoelectric properties significantly. The peak-valley structure emerges at the low temperature due to Kondo resonance, and the peak-valley structure also relies on the polarization angle θ, the spindependent linewidth function Γγσ and the energy level of QD ?d. Novel resonant peak also emerges in the curve of ZTc versus polarization angle θ. The Kondo effect suppresses the figure of merit ZTc and the spin-dependent figure of merit ZTs. In addition, the spin-dependent figure of merit ZTs is relate with the gap between Γγ↑and Γγ↓.

In order to calculate the effect on the beam caused by an irregular accelerator element, we have expanded and improved the Linear and Electrostatic Accelerator Dynamics Simulation （leads） code. To achieve better calculation precision, the element was divided into lots of equal intervals. In order to simplify the calculation process, a one-dimensional field is simulated and the Lorenz equation is used directly. A one-dimensional field can be imported into the leads code. The heteromorphic quadrupole is invented and its field is simulated and optimized using the POISSON code. As examples, the effect on the beam caused by the heteromorphic quadrupole and octupole is simulated.

Due to genetic and epigenetic mechanisms, cancer have become a resistant disease and there is a need for new molecules having multiple targeting action that promotes apoptosis. Phytomolecules having multiple targeting anticancer activity are in high demand and there is less documentation or information available on these metabolites. It is evident that mushrooms are became the store houses of new anticancer molecules and mushrooms like Agaricus blazei, Antrodia camphorate, Albatrellus confluens, Bolteus badius, Cordyceps militaris, Clitocybe maxima, Funalia trogii, Grifola frondosa, and Inocybe umbrinella, are some of the medicinal mushrooms reported for their cytotoxic activity. Cytotoxic molecules like lentinan, grifolin, illudin-S, psilocybin, ganoderic acid, theanine, and hispolon, have been isolated from various mushroom species. However, studies have been limited only to in vitro cytotoxic mechanisms and very few trials have been conducted to prove the clinical efficacy of these drug leads. Hence, the current review focuses on new anticancer metabolites isolated from various mushrooms having multiple targeting mechanisms in cancer. However, an extensive research is needed to define the biosynthesis and clinical mechanism of these multiple acting metabolites. This review provides a platform for researchers new anticancer drugs and to bring out potent multiple acting anticancer newer drugs.

Marine sponges of the genus Stelletta are well known as rich sources of diverse and complex biologically relevant natural products, including alkaloids, terpenoids, peptides, lipids, and steroids. Some of these metabolites, with novel structures and promising biological activities, have attracted a lot of attention from chemists seeking to perform their total synthesis in parallel to intensive biological studies towards new drug leads. In this review, we summarized the distribution of the chemically investigated Stelletta sponges, the isolation, synthesis and biological activities of their secondary metabolites, covering the literature from 1982 to early 2018.

Alzheimer disease(AD) has now become the most common brain disorder among the older population. In addition, the currently existing therapeutics only offer temporary symptomatic relieves. Therefore, further research and development of more efficacious and disease-modifying agents for the prevention, treatment and restoration of AD will have tremendous value from both scientific, and economic standpoints. Over the past few years, our series of studies have identified several highly promising anti-AD dimeric leads, with disease-modifying potentials. In this presentation, the latest progress on the neuroprotective and disease modifying effects and the underlying mechanisms of those candidates will be comprehensively illustrated and discussed.

Clinical Implication of ST Segment Depression in aVR &aVL in Patients with Acute Inferior Wall Myocardial Infarction

Objectives: The aim of the study was to assess the role of ST segment depression in the limb leads aVR and aVL for the diagnosis of acute posterior wall infarction and the identification of infarct related artery (IRA) in patients with acute inferior wall MI. Methods: In 159 patients with I-STEMI, 127 (80%) had RCA occlusion and 32 (20%) had LCX occlusion. In the ECG algorithms, RCA occlusion was indicated by ST depression in lead aVL higher than lead aVR and no ST depression in lead aVL and aVR. LCX occlusion was indicated by ST depression in lead aVR higher than or equal to lead aVL and no ST depression in aVL and aVR. Results: The sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values of these algorithms were high (98%, 82%, 92% and 95% for RCA occlusion and 83%, 98%, 95% and 92% for LCX occlusion). Conclusion: The ECG algorithms can reliably identify the culprit artery in I-STEMI. ST segment depression in limb leads aVR and aVL with avR ≥ aVL helps to diagnose left circumflex artery as a culprit IRA in an acute inferior wall MI.

It is becoming increasing apparent that abuse of alcohol during adolescence has long lasting effects of brain and behavior in adulthood.In the present study,we investigated the effect of adolescent alcohol exposure on fear-related behavior in adulthood.Using a rodent model of binge-like adolescent intermittent alcohol(AIE)exposure by vapor inhalation,we observed that exposure to a fear conditioning paradigm of adult rats subjected to AIE leads to alterations in memory consolidation resulting in deficits in fear extinction learning and the recall of extinction memories.However,treatment with an mGluR5 positive allosteric modulator(CDPPB)during fear extinction training attenuated these deficits in extinction learning and retention.In addition,when AIE exposed rats subsequently experienced a single episode of acute stress,we observed a synergistic effect of AIE and acute stress on alterations of fear behaviors.Taken together,these findings suggest that adolescent alcohol abuse may increase vulnerability to development of postsynaptic stress disorders(PTSD)and alcohol use disorders(AUD),and identify potential therapeutic targets for the treatment of these comorbid disorders.
