Analysis of Dynamic Structure-Fluid Interaction Response of a Floating laminated Composite plate

In this paper,the electromagnetic energy harvesting scheme by using a Terfenol-D/PZT/Terfenol-D composite magnetoelectric(ME)transducer and a circuit is *** the experiments,the electrodes on the piezoelectric layer are connected by a circuit whose impedance is denoted by Z,which is the load *** have analyzed and observed the load dependence of the ME coefficient and the basic behaviors of the power density.A giant sharp ME coefficientα of 24.5 mv/Oe appears at 3.72×10 rad/s under the load impedance Z of 2000Ω.

In consideration of the effects of transverse shear deformation and structure-fluid interaction, the analytical expression of fluid force between a floating laminated composite plate and liquid surface is obtained. By expanding the displacements into Fourier series, the structure-fluid coupling dynamic response is solved. The effects of lamination angle, layer number, depth of fluid region and loading forms on dynamic response are investigated.

This research presents a finite element formulation based on four-variable refined plate theory for bending analysis of cross-ply and angle-ply laminated composite plates integrated with a piezoelectric fiber-reinforced composite actuator under electromechanical loading. The four-variable refined plate theory is a simple and efficient higher-order shear deformation theory, which predicts parabolic variation of transverse shear stresses across the plate thickness and satisfies zero traction conditions on the plate free surfaces. The weak form of governing equations is derived using the principle of minimum potential energy, and a 4-node non-conforming rectangular plate element with 8 degrees of freedom per node is introduced for discretizing the domain. Several benchmark problems are solved by the developed MATLAB code and the obtained results are compared with those from exact and other numerical solutions, showing good agreement.

In this paper, the influence of init ial imperfection and coupling between bending and extension on vibration, buckling and nonlinear dynamic stability of laminated plates is studied. The governing e quation is derived. It is a nonlinear modified Mathieu Equation. Numerical solut ions of 5 typical composite materials namely, Glass_epoxy Scotch_1002, Aramid_ep oxy Kevlar_49, Boron_epoxy B4_5505, Graphite_epoxy T300_5208 and AS_3501 are co mputed. Results reveal that the existence of initial imperfection, and also coup ling effect,make the plates much more sensitive to entering parametric resonance with amplitude greater than that of perfect plates. Coupl ing effect for different composite laminates, especially, for that with few laye rs, is different. If coupling effect is neglected, the design of plate structure s for buckling and dynamic stability would unconservatively be for more than 10% .

On the basis of the Reddy's higher-order theory of composites, this paper introduces a displacement function Phi into it and transforms its three differential equations for symmetric cross-ply composites into only one eight-order differential equation generated by the displacement-function. When a proper Phi is chosen, both solutions are obtained, namely, the Navier-type solution of simply supported rectangular laminated plates and the Levy-type solution with the boundary condition where two opposite edges are simply supported and remains are arbitrary. The numerical examples show that the present results coincide well with the existing results in the references, thus validating that the present solving method is reliable. The higher-order theory of Reddy is simpler in calculation but has higher precision than the first-order shear deformation theory because the former has fewer unknows than the latter and requires no shear coefficients.

Based on Reddy’s layerwise theory, the governing equations for dynamic response of viscoelastic laminated plate are derived by using the quadratic interpolation function for displacement in the direction of plate thickness. Vibration frequencies and loss factors are calculated for free vibration of simply supported viscoelastic sandwich plate, showing good agreement with the results in the literature. Harmonious transverse stresses can be obtained. The results show that the transverse shear stresses are the main factor to the delamination of viscoelastic laminated plate in lower-frequency free vibration, and the transverse normal stress is the main one in higher-frequency free vibration. Relationship between the modulus of viscoelastic materials and transverse stress is analyzed. Ratio between the transverse stress’s maximum value and the in-plane stress’s maximum-value is obtained. The results show that the proposed method, and the adopted equations and programs are reliable.

Catastrophe theory was applied to the investigation of nonlinear dynamic stability of composite laminated plates. The influence of large deflection, initial imperfection, support conditions and ply_angle of the fibers were considered. The catastrophic models and the critical conditions of dynamic buckling of composite laminated plates are obtained.

A scheme is developed to identify the material parameters of laminated plates using mathematical optimization and measured eigenfrequencies of the object. The object function of the optimization is defined as the difference between the measured frequencies and the computed frequencies of the laminated plates. The sensitivity of the structural eigenvalue with respect to the material parameters is analyzed. A numerical example is presented to show the feasibility of the scheme.
