The principle and method for solving three types of satellite gravity gradient boundary value problems by least-squares are discussed in detail. Also, kernel function expressions of the least-squares solution of three geodetic boundary value problems with the observations {Γ zz },{Γ xz , Γ yz} and {Γ xx -Γ yy ,2 Γxy}are presented. From the results of recovering gravity field using simulated gravity gradient tensor data, we can draw a conclusion that satellite gravity gradient integral formulas derived from least-squares are valid and rigorous for recovering the gravity field.

This paper presents a nonlinear multidimensional scaling model, called kernelized fourth quantifica- tion theory, which is an integration of kernel techniques and the fourth quantification theory. The model can deal with the problem of mineral prediction without defining a training area. In mineral target prediction, the pre-defined statistical cells, such as grid cells, can be implicitly transformed using kernel techniques from input space to a high-dimensional feature space, where the nonlinearly separable clusters in the input space are ex- pected to be linearly separable. Then, the transformed cells in the feature space are mapped by the fourth quan- tifieation theory onto a low-dimensional scaling space, where the sealed cells can be visually clustered according to their spatial locations. At the same time, those cells, which are far away from the cluster center of the majority of the sealed cells, are recognized as anomaly cells. Finally, whether the anomaly cells can serve as mineral potential target cells can be tested by spatially superimposing the known mineral occurrences onto the anomaly ceils. A case study shows that nearly all the known mineral occurrences spatially coincide with the anomaly cells with nearly the smallest scaled coordinates in one-dimensional sealing space. In the case study, the mineral target cells delineated by the new model are similar to those predicted by the well-known WofE model.

Shallow gas is composed of all kinds of shallow buried natural gas resources( kernel function filtering method is used to suppress cross-terms of the Wigner-Ville distribution,which is tested on field seismic data. Because of shallow gas reservoir has a characteristic that low frequency energy is stronger and high frequency energy is weaker,it indicates the presence of shallow gas successfully.

A new method called RS-MSVM （Rough Set and Multi-class Support Vector Machine） is proposed for network intrusion detection. This method is based on rough set followed by MSVM for attribute reduction and classification respectively, The number of attributes of the network data used in this paper is reduced from 41 to 30 using rough set theory. The kernel function of HVDM-RBF （Heterogeneous Value Difference Metric Radial Basis function）, based on the heterogeneous value difference metric of heterogeneous datasets, is constructed for the heterogeneous network data. HVDM-RBF and one-against-one method are applied to build MSVM. DARPA （Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency） intrusion detection evaluating data were used in the experiment. The testing results show that our method outperforms other methods mentioned in this paper on six aspects： detection accuracy, number of support vectors, false positive rate, falsc negative rate, training time and testing time.
