In the previous report, it was inferred that the quasi/equal transference numbers of hydrogen and hy-droxyl ions exist in stationary electrolysis and Svensson’ s isoelectric focusing (IEF) . The purpose of the report is to prove this inference. Based upon some basic physical chemistry data, the transference numbers of H + in HBr5 HCl and HI solutions and of OH - in KOH solution were compared by the relative judgment expressions ( Rr) defined from the moving chemical reaction boundary equation (MCRBE) . The results manifest that even the limited values of Rr for the reaction electrolyte systems of HC1-KOH, HBr-KOH, HI-KOH and H2SO4-KOH are quite high (0.07-0.14), as compared with those limited values (0.02-0.03) for the reaction electrolytes of HCl-NaOH, HBr-NaOH, Ht-NaOH and H2SO4-NaOH, however one can conclude that the quasi/equal transference numbers of H+ and OH- exist in the systems of HC1-KOH, HBr-KOH, HI-KOH and H2SO4-KOH, when the system should not be diluted infinitely. The activity of typical 2-cys peroxiredoxin(Prxs) can be regulated by hyperoxidation with a consequent loss of redox activity. Here we developed a simple assay to monitor the level of hyperoxidation of different typical 2-cys prxs simultaneously. This assay only requires standard equipment and can compare different samples on the same gel. It requires much less time than conventional 2 D gels and gives more information than Western blotting with an antibody specific for hyperoxidized peroxiredoxin. This method could also be used to monitor protein modification with a charge difference such as phosphorylation.

A moving chemical reaction boundary (MCRB) is formed by the weak alkali NH3 · H2O and strong acid HC1 with an excess of potassium chloride as background electrolyte. The experimental results are compared with the predictions in accordance with the moving chemical reaction boundary equation (MCRBE). If the MCRB is cathodic, the experimental results are in agreement with the predictions by the MCRBE. However, if the MCRB is anodic, the experimental results significantly deviate from the predictions of the MCRBE. A corrected MCRB equation is proposed for such conditions. The findings are evidently different from those in our early reports (J. Chromatogr. A, 891 (2000): 337-347; 907 (2001): 347-352; 922 (2001) 283-393). This study is of obvious benefit to capillary electrophoresis and isoelectric focusing.

Hemoglobinopathies, mainly Sickle cell disease (SCD), are the most common monogenic disorders in Africa. In Burkina Faso, data on these diseases are scarce, mainly hospital-based in Ouagadougou and its surroundings. In order to assess the incidence and allelic frequencies of the main hemoglobinopathies in newborns in Burkina Faso, we conducted a cross-sectional study from 2015 to 2019 in four hospitals. The study included babies of both sexes, regardless of ethnic group and parents’ hemoglobin status. It was a newborn screening and hemoglobin variants were detected using isoelectric focusing on cord blood samples and confirmed using hemoglobin electrophoresis by high-performance liquid chromatography. The proportions and cumulative incidences of the different hemoglobinopathies were computed. Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium law was applied to calculate genotypic and allelic frequencies. The significant level was p < 0.05. Out of 11,337 newborns included, 47.8% were males and 60.2% were from Bobo-Dioulasso. Abnormal hemoglobin was found in 27.1%, representing a cumulative incidence of 1:4 newborns. The incidence of SCD was 1.9% (1:53 newborns) with 27.9% of homozygous SS. Homozygous CC and compound heterozygous Cβ-Thalassemia accounted for 1.1%. SCD cases were 1.51 times higher in Bobo-Dioulasso (OR = 1.51;95% CI [1.09 - 2.10]: p = 0.013). The observed genotype frequencies were significantly different from the expected ones (p 0.001). The βS and βC alleles represented 5.1 and 9.9%, respectively. This study showed a high incidence of hemoglobinopathies. Such results raise the question of control strategies for these hemoglobinopathies in our country.

During the last two decades, the concept of moving reaction boundary（MRB）electrophoresis was developed by our lab, including neutralization boundary（MNB）,precipitate boundary（MPB）, chelation boundary（MCB）, redox boundary（MROB） and affinity boundary（MAB） as well as supramolecular boundary（MSB）. The concept of MRB has been used in the following bioseparations and biochemical ***, a series of online MRB-based sample stacking methods have been developed for the increase of sensitivity of capillary electrophoresis（CE）. The developed methods concerned MNB-, MCB-,MPB-, MAB- and MSB-based sample stacking. The analytes included drugs, zwitterionic solutes, heavy metal ions and ***, we proposed the MRB-based dynamic theory of isoelectric focusing（IEF）,illuminated the mechanism of IEF instability existing in IEF for 50 years and Hjerten’s mobilization of pH gradient, and developed of IEF with high stability, speed and ***, a novel MSB was proposed by using monosaccharide or glycoprotein in microcolumn and the complex probe of BBV-HPTS in chip electrophoresis. The MSB experiments revealed that（i） the probe could interact with free glucose or bound one;（ii）the detection signal was as function of concentration of glucose or glycoprotein;and（iii）the band motion has relation with glucose ***, a novel MRB electrophoretic titration method was developed for acid, base,protein content and structure analyses. In the developed method, the MRB was created between the hydroxide ions in the cathodic vessel and the free acidic groups of protein immobilized via highly cross-linked polyacrylamide gel. It was observed that the boundary velocity（VMRB） was as a function of protein content. The experiments revealed that good linear calibration functions between VMRB and protein content（correlation coefficients R＞0.98）. 本研究对不同周数(6、7、8、9、10周)妊娠妇女胎盘绒毛滋养层组织水溶性蛋白质组分、分子量、等电点及其特性进行了分析和比较。用SDS-聚丙烯酰胺凝胶电泳分析结果指明,妊娠早期绒毛组织,除分泌绒毛膜促性腺激素(hCG)这一含量较多的蛋白以外,尚含有其他四种含量较高的蛋白质,这四种蛋白质的分子量分别为:140,000,128,000,94,000和83,000左右。用高压液相色谱层析和等电聚焦电泳分析结果指明,在不同周龄的组织中其蛋白量和组分间的比例稍有变化,较多的蛋白质为酸性蛋白,与蜕膜组织蛋白质组分作比较,绒毛组织具有蜕膜组织内不存在的蛋白组分,其等电点分别为:8.4、6.4、5.8、4.8。由此可知早期妊娠胎盘绒毛滋养层组织,存在一些含量较高的特殊蛋白,深入研究这些蛋白的特性和生理功能,将对阐明人类妊娠生理和寻找控制生育新途径有重要意义。

目前在生殖生物学领域中对早期妊娠子宫内膜蛋白质的变化十分重视,因为这与阐明胚泡着床机理,进而开辟控制生育途径有密切关系。本实验是用不同pH范围（pH3.5～10,5～8和8～9.5）的0.5mm平板聚丙烯酰胺凝胶等电聚焦方法对非孕、妊娠不同天数和妊娠后注射高剂量LHRH—A[(D-丙6,去甘10)LH-RH 乙基胺]兔子宫内膜蛋白质进行分析。结果指出: 1.在pH3.5～10范围内的电泳图谱中,早期妊娠兔子宫内膜存在非孕动物所没有的两种妊娠特有蛋白,它们的pI分别为9.65和7.45。在假孕动物子宫内膜不显示pI为9.65的蛋白带,而pI为7.45的蛋白带只能隐约见到。2.在分辨率更高的pH为8～9.5范围内的电泳图谱中,可见到非孕和假孕子宫内膜所不存在的另一条特异蛋白带,它的pI为9.30。3.用高剂量LHRH-A（0.3mg/头、天）处理妊娠动物,则pI为9.65和7.45的两种妊娠特异蛋白受到明显抑制。特别是注射LHRH-A10天的动物,这两种蛋白带完全消失。根据实验结果,本文将上述妊娠特异蛋白与Schwick于1963年发现的兔子宫液中存在的一种妊娠蛋白即子宫珠蛋白（blastokinin）加以比较和讨论,同时对高剂量LH-RHA的抗生育作用也提出了初步看法。
