We observed completely a large burst event produced in AR 5629 at the west limb of the Sun using chromospheric and 3 cm radio telescopes. We used Kopp-Pneuman and Sturrock models to interpret the event.

The stable isotopic δ18O and δ13C composition of foraminiferal shell calcite varies as a function of many factors including temperature and salinity. In order to understand and interpret the variations in the isotopic composition of foraminiferal shell calcite, research has been recently focused on the role of the "vital effects’. Our examination of the lamella structure of several recent planktonic foraminifera indicates that the secretion of sequential lamellae results in multiple lamillae on earlier chambers and a single lamella on the final chamber. We used a very simple procedure to separate the individual whole test of foraminifera into several chambers and measured the isotopic composition of each growth stage chamber. The results indicate that the stable isotopic composition (carbon and oxy -gen), particukrly that of the last two chambers, of the foraminiferal test varies as a function of the individual growing process.

Geochemical potential field is defined as the scope within the earth’s space where a givencomponent in a certain phase of a certain material system is acted upon by a diffusion force,depending on its spatial coordinates X,Y,and Z. The three coordinates follow the relations: NF;x=- NF, = -- ty’ NF. = -- tybx y 8y’ DzThe characteristics of such a field can be summarized as:（l） The summation of geochemicalpotentials related to the coordinates X,Y,Z or pseudo-velocity head, pseudo-pressure head andpseudo-potential head of a certain component in the earth is a constant as given by μ;+μ;+μ;=corμ;+μ;+μ;=μ;+μ;+μ;Derived from these relations is the principle of geochemical potential conservation. This paper presents the vertical distribution of sound velocity in the first few ten meters of the sea floor measured in the South China Sea (12 stations) and the Huanghai Sea (2 stations) by reflection and refraction *** apparent characters of the sediment samples and the velocities estimated from the sample porosities by Anderson’s empirical equation basically coincide with the measured velocity structures.A new method called 'total reflected ray method' has been used to interpret the reflection data.
