A digital calibration technique for an ultra high-speed folding and interpolating analog-to-digital con- verter in 0.18-μm CMOS technology is presented. The similar digital calibration techniques are taken for high 3-bit flash converter and low 5-bit folding and interpolating converter, which are based on well-designed calibration reference, calibration DAC and comparators. The spice simulation and the measured results show the ADC produces 5.9 ENOB with calibration disabled and 7.2 ENOB with calibration enabled for high-frequency wide-bandwidth analog input.

The characteristics of transverse free vibration of a tapered Timoshenko beam under an axially conservative compression resting on visco-Pasternak foundations are investigated by the interpolating matrix method. The research is executed in view of a three-parameter foundation which includes the eff ects of the Winkler coeffi cient, Pasternak coeffi cient and damping coeffi cient of the elastic medium. The governing equations of free vibration of a non-prismatic Timoshenko beam under an axially conservative force resting on visco-Pasternak foundations are transformed into ordinary diff erential equations with variable coeffi cients in light of the bending rotation angle and transverse displacement. All the natural frequencies orders together with the corresponding mode shapes of the beam are calculated at the same time, and a good convergence and accuracy of the proposed method is verifi ed through two numerical examples. The infl uences of foundation mechanical characteristics together with rotary inertia and shear deformation on natural frequencies of the beam with diff erent taper ratios are analyzed. A comprehensive parametric numerical study is carried out emphasizing the primary parameters that describe the dynamic property of the beam.

Modelling and simulation of projectile flight is at the core of ballistic computer software and is essential to the study of performance of rifles and projectiles in various engagement *** effective and representative numerical model of projectile flight requires a relatively good approximation of the *** aerodynamic coefficients of the projectile model should be described as a series of piecewise polynomial functions of the Mach number that ideally meet the following conditions:they are continuous,differentiable at least once,and have a relatively low *** paper provides the steps needed to generate such piecewise polynomial functions using readily available tools,and then compares Piecewise Cubic Hermite interpolating Polynomial(PCHIP),cubic splines,and piecewise linear functions,and their variant,as potential curve fitting methods to approximate the aerodynamics of a generic small arms projectile.A key contribution of the paper is the application of PCHIP to the approximation of projectile aerodynamics,and its evaluation against a set of ***,the paper provides a baseline assessment of the impact of the polynomial functions on flight trajectory predictions obtained with 6-degree-of-freedom simulations of a generic projectile.

Ultra high speed and moderate resolution ADCs with low latency are demanded in many applications.A 4-GS/s 8-bit ADC is implemented in the 0.35μm SiGe BiCMOS *** is based on the two-channel time-interleaved architecture and each sub-ADC employs the two-stage cascaded folding and interpolating topology which guarantees the low-latency *** circuits are introduced to compensate for the mismatch between the two *** whole chip area is about 4.0×4.0(mm2).The ADC exhibits DNL of 0.26/0.34 LSB and INL of 0.96/0.92 *** ENOB is 7.1 bits and the SFDR is about 56 dB at10.1 MHz *** SNDR is above 42 dB over the first and the second Nyquist *** SFDR is above45 dB over the first Nyquist zone and the second Nyquist *** ERBW is about 1.4 GHz.

Recently, 2-band interpolating wavelet transform has attracted much attention. It has the following several features: (i) The wavelet series transform coefficients of a signal in the multiresolution subspace are exactly consistent with its discrete wavelet transform coefficients; (ii) good approximation performance; (iii) efficiency in computation. However orthogonal 2-band compactly supported interpolating wavelet transform is only the first order. In order to overcome this shortcoming, the orthogonal M-band compactly supported interpolating wavelet basis is established. First, the unitary interpolating scaling filters of the lengthL =MK are characterized. Second, a scheme is given to design high-order unitary interpolating scaling filters. Third, a parameterization of the unitary interpolating scaling filters of the lengthL = 4M is made. Fourth, the orthogonal 2-order and 3-order three-band compactly supported interpolating scaling functions are constructed. Finally, the properties of the orthogonal M-band compactly supported interpolating wavelets and the approximation performance of the Mallat projection are discussed. For the smooth signal inL 2(?), the asymptotic formula of the approximation enor of the Mallat projection is obtained, and for the band-limited signal, the quantitative estimate of its upper bounds is given. The results show that the Mallat projection has the same approximation order as the orthogonal projection, and particularly for the orthogonal even number-order M-band compactly supported interpolating scaling function, they have the same approximation performance. The quantitative result also shows that the selection of the initial scale depends on the distribution of the signal frequency and the regularity order of the scaling function. The paper begins by discussing the interpolating moving least-squares (IMLS) method. Then the formulae of the IMLS method obtained by Lancaster are revised. On the basis of the boundary element-free method (BEFM), combining the boundary integral equation method with the IMLS method improved in this paper, the interpolating boundary element-free method (IBEFM) for two-dimensional elasticity problems is presented, and the corresponding formulae of the IBEFM for two-dimensional elasticity problems are obtained. In the IMLS method in this paper, the shape function satisfies the property of Kronecker δ function, and then in the IBEFM the boundary conditions can be applied directly and easily. The IBEFM is a direct meshless boundary integral equation method in which the basic unknown quantity is the real solution to the nodal variables. Thus it gives a greater computational precision. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the method.

This paper studies the mathematical mechanism of the generalized interpolating filters and gives the corresponding parametric representations. On the basis of the parametric representations, a novel criterion and algorithm are proposed to design interval interpolating wavelets with robust boundary filters. Furthermore, some examples are designed and their performances in data compression are investigated. Both the theoretical analysis and the experimental results show that such an interval interpolating wavelet can effectively suppress the boundary effect.

This paper presents a general formula for (2m + 2)-point n-ary interpolating subdivision scheme for curves for any?integer m ≥ 0 and n ≥ 2 by using Newton interpolating polynomial. As a consequence, the proposed work is extended for surface case, which is equivalent to the tensor product of above proposed curve case. These formulas merge several notorious curve/surface schemes. Furthermore, visual performance of the subdivision schemes is also presented.

An ultra-wideband 4 GS/s 4 bit analog-to-digital converter（ADC）which is fabricated in 2-level interconnect, 1.4μm InGaP/GaAs HBT technology is *** ADC has a-3 dB analog bandwidth of 3.8 GHz and an effective resolution bandwidth（ERBW）of 2.6 *** ADC adopts folding-interpolating architecture to minimize its size and complexity.A novel bit synchronization circuit is used in the coarse quantizer to eliminate the glitch codes of the *** measurement results show that the chip achieves larger than 3.4 ENOBs with an input frequency band of DC-2.6 GHz and larger than 3.0 ENOBs within DC-4GHz at 4 GS/*** has 3.49 ENOBs when increasing input power by 4 dB at 6.001 GHz of *** indicates that the ADC has the ability of sampling signals from 1st to 3rd Nyquist zones（DC-6 GHz）.The measured DNL and INL are both less than±0.15 LSB. The ADC consumes power of 1.98 W and occupies a total area of 1.45×1.45 mm^2.
