Frictional characteristics of granular system under high pressure

In order to reveal the force transmission features of the granules in the solid granule medium forming(SGMF) technology,the frictional characteristics of the non-metallic granule medium(NGM) under high pressure were investigated by tests and *** the relevant changing curves of the internal friction coefficient of the granular system under different normal pressures were obtained by self-designed shear *** the granule volume compression test,the accurate discrete element simulation parameters were obtained,based on this,the discrete element method(DEM) was adopted to reveal the evolution law of the NGM granules movement in the sample shear process from the microscopic *** on the DEM,the influence of granule diameter,surface friction coefficient,normal pressure and shear velocity on the internal friction coefficient of the granular system were *** the parameters were conducted to be dimensionless by introducing the inertia ***,the expression showing power-law relationship of inertia coefficient,surface friction coefficient and internal friction coefficient is obtained.

Wave Forces and Moments on a Gravity Pier Foundation

In order to understand the wave forces and moments on a gravity pier foundation which consists of an upper column and a bottom gravity base,a model experiment with a scale of 1:60 has been conducted in a laboratory flume.A corresponding numerical calculation by using the boundary element method has been carried out to provide a comparative *** is shown by the comparisons that the numerical wave forces and moments agree well with the experimental *** is proved that the wave forces and moments acting on the foundation are completely in their inertia dominative areas for wave *** the diffraction effects considered into the inertia item,appropriate inertia coefficients are assessed by the experimental results for the inertia item of the Morison *** formula of the inertia item can be used to estimate wave forces and moments on such gravity foundations.

Research on VSG Frequency Characteristics and Energy Storage Device Capacity and Charge-Discharge Characteristics Based on Feedforward Branch

Renewable energy is connected to the grid through the inverter,which in turn reduces the inertia and stability of the power grid *** traditional grid-connected inverter does not have the function of voltage regulation and frequency regulation and can therefore no longer adapt to the new *** virtual synchronous generator(VSG)has the function of voltage regulation and frequency regulation,which has more prominent advantages than traditional *** on the principle of VSG,the relationship between the frequency characteristics and the energy storage capacity of the feedforward branch-based virtual synchronous machine(FVSG)is derived when the input power and grid frequency *** the relationship between the virtual inertia coefficient,damping coefficient,and frequency characteristics of VSG and energy storage *** energy storage configuration method that meets the requirements of frequency variation characteristics is proposed.A mathematical model is established,and the Matlab/Simulink simulation software is used for *** simulation results verify the relationship between the inertia coefficient,damping coefficient,and energy storage demand of the FVSG.

Research on Effect of Oil Film inertia on Piston Skirt by Iteration Method

The influence of oil film inertia on piston skirt lubrication in a high speedengine is investigated by an iteration method that alternately solves the Navier-Stocks equationsand the Reynolds equa-tion by finite element method and difference method. The Reynolds lubricationequation including oil film inertia is developed, in which the inertia coefficient is introduced toinvestigate the effect of oil film inertia. The iteration procedure and finite formulation ofsolving the new Reynolds lubrication equation are given to analyze the effect of oil film on pistonskirt in this kind of engine. The calculation results show that the oil film inertia has someeffects on the friction force, pressure force and load capacity of oil film and its effect isobvious for the last. The Reynolds lubrication equation proposed can be also used to analyze thelubrication performance of the piston skirt in low or medium speed engine and some other lubricationproblems generally excluding oil film inertia with the inertia coefficient being set at zero.
