Study on the occurrence state of indium in sphalerite of Dulong Sn–Zn–In polymetallic deposit,Southwest China

The Dulong deposit,located in the Laojunshan area of southeastern Yunnan,China,is an important polymetallic deposit due to its high reserves of tin,zinc,and indium.The occurrence state of indium is critical for understanding its supernormal enrichment mechanism.Previous studies investigated the occurrence state of indium(including the valence state)based on the indium content in sphalerite and the correlation between metal concentrations.However,more evidence is needed to better constrain indium occurrence at the micro-,nano-,or even atomic scale.In this study,EPMA-FIB-SEM-TEM and XPS techniques were employed to investigate the indium distribution characteristics and occurrence state in sphalerite from the Dulong Sn–Zn–In polymetallic deposit.The maximum concentration of indium in the indium-rich sphalerite samples is 0.37%,and the results of the EPMA analysis showed a relatively homogeneous distribution of indium in sphalerite.The FIB-SEM-TEM results demonstrated that the lattice stripes of sphalerite were periodically and continuously distributed at the nanoscale,confirming that sphalerite in the deposit was an excellent single crystal structure,and the peak heights of the various characteristic peaks of indium in the EDX spectra were relatively close to each other,with no distinct peaks of high indium content.In addition,the XPS results indicate that the element valence state of indium in sphalerite is In^(3+),and it combines with S^(2-)to form a bond.These results indicate that indium in sphalerite of the Dulong deposit is uniformly distributed at both the micro-and nanoscale,and there is no indium-independent mineral.In^(3+)enters the crystal lattice of sphalerite by replacing Zn2+in the form of isomorphic substitution.

The active site engineering of electrocatalysts,as one of the most economical and technological approaches,is a promising strategy to enhance the intrinsic activity and selectivity towards electrochemical CO_(2)reduction reaction.Herein,an indium-based porphyrin framework(In-TCPP)with a well-defined structure,highly dispersed catalytic center,and good stability was constructed for efficient CO_(2)-to-formate conversion.In-TCPP could achieve a high Faraday efficiency for formate(90%)and a cathodic energy efficiency of 63.8%in flow cells.In situ attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and density functional theory calculation confirm that the crucial intermediate is*COOH species which contributes to the formation of formate.This work is expected to provide novel insights into the precise design of active sites for high-performance electrocatalysts towards electrochemical CO_(2)reduction reaction.

Solid-state molecules based on room-temperature phosphorescent(RTP)emission have received extensive attention due to their special optical properties of triplet excitons.However,there are still few solid molecular systems with naked-eye-visible afterglow characteristics.Herein,we introduce 4-phenylbenzylamine(namely PBA)with a long conjugated system into common non-toxic In^(3+)to form an indium-based organic inorganic halide,whose chemical formula is PBA_(3)[InCl_6]·H_(2)O.Interestingly,this hybrid halide generates a RTP emission at 617 nm with a lifetime decay as long as 290.4 ms,expressing a naked-eye-visible afterglow for more than 7 s.The mechanism study shows that the long lifetime RTP originated from the specific lamellar stacking of organic molecules and metal halide units,facilitating the interaction between the inorganic layers and organic layers.Therefore,the material can be potentially used in emergency lighting,information security,and other fields.Meanwhile,this work provides a reference for the design and implementation of a more efficient organic-inorganic hybrid system with the ultralong RTP emission.

The electrochemical CO_(2)reduction reaction(ECO_(2)RR)to formate is perceived as a technoeconomic pathway for transforming renewable electricity into fuels.However,the indeterminate mechanism underlying structural self-reconstruction obstructs the strategic design of a high-performance In catalyst for the ECO_(2)RR.In this study,we chose InOOH as the model catalyst to illustrate the dynamic structure of In-based catalysts during reconstruction in the ECO_(2)RR.The findings of the current study indicate that the in situ electrochemical reconstruction of crystalline InOOH results in the creation of crystalline In clusters/InOOH,followed by In/InOOH heterostructures,and finally,metallic In over time.The efficiencies of the different phases conformed to the sequence:In clusters/InOOH>In/InOOH heterostructures>metallic In.This progression leads to a continuous drop in maximum current density and Faradaic efficiency from 29.6 mA/cm2 and 87%to 6.3 mA/cm^(2) and 75%,respectively with time extending to 7200 s,at-1.0 V relative to the reversible hydrogen electrode.Our in situ characterization and theoretical studies highlighted the crucial role of the In-cluster/InOOH interface in CO_(2)activation and conversion.

Thermoelectric properties of indium doped skutterudite thick film synthesized by a facile technique of electrochemical deposition

Doped/filled skutterudites are much studied materials due to their excellent thermoelectric performance.However,their synthesis and preparation is complicated.This work synthesized indium(In)doped cobalt triantimonide(CoSb_(3))skutterudite thick films using a facile electrochemical deposition technique through chronoamperometric steps for 2 h.The nominal composition of In element is found in the range of 0.55e0.23 for a stoichiometric condition of In doped CoSb_(3)thick films.The early crystal growth of In doped films shows instantaneous nucleation and is controlled by the charge transfer process with diffusion coefficient,D of 10^(-5)cm^(2)/s.The incorporation of In into the interstitial sites of CoSb_(3)cages is evident from the lattice constant(a)expansion as observed in XRD.The optimum Seeback coefficient(S)of the 0.5 mmol In doped CoSb_(3)thick film is89.84 mV/K at 282 K,due to an increase in the carrier concentration(n~10^(20)cm^(-3)).The negative S is due to the electron donor behaviour of the In.Meanwhile,high electrical conductivity,s value(14.26 kS/m)contributes to a power factor(S2s)increment of 115.11 mW/(m$K2).The result shows a promising thermoelectric property of doped skutterudite synthesized by electrochemical deposition technique.

A novel luminescent double-interpenetrated metal-organic framework(MOF),named{[In_(6)(O)_(3)(BTB)_(4)]·3H_(2)O}_(n)(1),is designed and synthesized using the tritopic linkers(1,3,5-tris(4-carboxyphenyl)benzene(H_(3)BTB))and tetranuclear clusters[In_(4)O_(2)(COO)_(8)].1 features 3,8-connected dual-wall"cage-in-cage"and exhibits excellent chemical stability owing to its high connectivity and double-interpenetrated architectures.Moreover,it could rapidly detect thiamphenicol(THI),nitrofurazone(NFZ),and nitrofurantoin(NFT)antibiotics in N,N-dime-thylformamide(DMF)with superior detection sensitivity(Ksv)and low detection limits(LOD)of 4.52×10^(3)M^(-1)and 348.6 ppm,1.43×10^(5)M^(-1)and 13.8 ppm,and 1.47×10^(5)M^(-1)and 12.1 ppm for THI,NFZ,and NFT,respectively.Additionally,compound 1 exhibits good selectivity and recyclability.It is also effectively used to detect NFT in the milk sample.Furthermore,the mechanism of luminescence quenching was revealed through the experimental results and the density functional theory calculations.The occurrence of photo-induced electron transfer(PET)affects the fluorescence quenching effect of NFT and NFZ.The design of indium-based MOFs has the potential to detect antibiotic residues in food.

indium was recovered from zinc oxide flue dust(ZOFD)with sulfuric acid by oxidative pressure leaching in an autoclave, and the effects of different technological conditions on indium leaching were studied.Potassium permanganate and hydrogen peroxide were used as oxidants.The atmospheric pressure leaching experiments were also carried out.The experimental results show that the leaching rate of indium can be effectively improved by oxidative pressure leaching.The optimum conditions of pressure leaching are determined as sulfuric 5.10 mol/L acid,leaching time 150 min,temperature 90℃,and the H2O2 dosage of 0.5 mL/g or 2.5%KMnO4.The leaching rate of indium is more than 90%,which is increased by 13%compared with that of atmospheric pressure leaching process without oxidant under the optimum conditions.
