hydrothermal ore deposits at convergent plate boundaries represent extraordinary metal enrichment in the continental crust. They are generally associated with felsic magmatism in extensional settings at high thermal gradients. Although their formation is common during accretionary orogeny, more and more ore deposits have been discovered recently in the collisional orogens of China. Because collisional orogeny was operated in a compressional regime at low thermal gradients, it is not favorable for mobilization of ore-forming elements and thus for the production of hydrothermal ore deposits. Nevertheless, continental collision is generally preceded by oceanic subduction, which enables the preliminary enrichment of ore-forming elements in the mantle wedge due to chemical metasomatism by subducting slab-derived fluids. This gave rise to metal pre-enriched domains in the overriding lithosphere, which may be reactivated by extensional tectonism for hydrothermal mineralization either immediately during accretionary orogeny or at a later time during and after collisional orogeny. It is these tectonic processes that have resulted in the progressive enrichment of ore-forming elements through the geochemical differentiation of the subducting oceanic crust, the metasomatic mantle domains and the mafic juvenile crust, respectively, at different depths. Finally, the reactivation of metal pre-enriched domains by continental rifting in the orogenic lithosphere is the key to the metallogenesis of collisional orogens.

hydrothermal calcification surface modification of biomedical tantalum

Tantalum(Ta) as a new type of medical metal is now utilized in several orthopedic applications due to its excellent fracture toughness and workability,high corrosion resistance,good biocompatibility and X-ray visibility,but it lacks bioactivity.Therefore,pure Ta was hydrothermally calcified in CaHPO4 solution at 120-200℃ here for bioactive surface modification.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),X-ray diffraction(XRD) and Raman spectroscopy analyses show that thin tantalum oxide film with a few calcium phosphate precipitates is formed at the surface after the treatment at 200℃.The hydrothermally treated sample has good hydrophilicity and corrosion resistance evidenced by the water contact angle measurement and the potentiodynamic polarization test,respectively,and it can induce the formation of apatite layer after soaked in the simulated body fluid for 1 week.The present method would be applicable for bioactive surface modification of tantalum implants with irregular shapes and even porous structure.

hydrothermal treatment of metallic-monolith catalyst support with self-growing porous anodic-alumina film

Metallic-monolith catalyst support with self-growing porous anodic alumina(PAA)film was prepared by anodizing Al plate.The effect of hydrothermal treatment(HTT)on the crystalline state and textural properties of PAA film was investigated by XRD,BET,SEM and TG.The HTT treatment above 50°C and the subsequent calcination above 300°C could convert the amorphous skeleton alumina intoγ-alumina and increase the specific surface area(SBET).However,SEM images showed the HTT modification was a non-uniform process along the thickness of PAA film.The promotion effect of HTT on SBETwas non-linear,and the slope of SBETgradually decreased with the HTT temperature or time increased.The limited HTT effect should be attributed to a changed pore structure caused by an unfavorable pore sealing limitation.Pore widening treatment(PWT)before HTT could break the pore sealing limitation,because of the reduced internal diffusion resistance of hydrothermal reaction.The synergistic combination of PWT and HTT developed a PAA support with a large SBETcomparable to commercialγ-alumina.In the catalytic combustion of toluene,the Pt-based catalyst prepared by using the PWT and HTT comodified PAA support gave higher Pt dispersion and more favorable catalytic activity than that treated by HTT alone.The presence of a bimodal pore structure was suggested to be a decisive reason.

hydrothermal synthesis of pure-phase hierarchical porous hexagonal WO3microspheres as highly efficient support for Pd catalyst for hydrogenation

Hexagonal tungsten trioxide (h-WO3)microspheres were synthesized by a hydrothermal method,with ammonium paratungstate and hydrochloric acid as the raw materials.The effects of the process parameters on the phase compositions and morphologies of the products were investigated.The results showed that the hydrothermal temperature and molar ratio of the raw materials were important for avoiding the formation of impurity phases,namely WO3.0.33H2Oand WO3.H2O.The pure-phase h-WO3microspheres had a specific surface area of 40.0m^2/g,and were assembled from nanorods.The microspheres were used to support Pd,and the obtained Pd/h-WO3catalyst showed excellent catalytic activity in the hydrogenation of styrene under mild conditions,with a turnover frequency 0f 3050h^-1.The catalyst was recycled five times without loss of activity,i.e.,the supported catalyst had good recyclability.

Synthesis, structure and magnetic properties of Ru doped perovskite structured manganite La0.5Sr0.5MnO3 were investigated experimentally. A hydrothermal method was used for the preparation of the samples. A high-temperature annealing process was also employed to make a comparison. A slightly enhancement of the unit cell volume was observed with the increase of Ru concentration. Scanning electron microscopy shows that the materials are made up of cube-shaped particles with dimension of several micrometers. Importantly, it is found that both the Curie temperature TC and saturation moment can be reduced by Ru doping. The value of coercive field is not affected by the introduction of Ru.

Nowadays,two-dimensional transition metal chalcogenides have become attractive materials for flexible wearable devices because of their intriguing chemistry characteristics and sensitivity to external stimuli.However,the growth of two-dimensional materials on polymer surfaces is generally carried out by the time-consuming and costly chemical vapor deposition method.Reducing the manufacturing and integration costs while improving the device performance remains to be challenging.Herein,we report a simple liquid metal-assisted hydrothermal method for the growth of two-dimensional nanomaterials on the polymer surface.Specifically,a layer of liquid metal was coated on commercial tape,while layered cobalt sulfide was grown on its surface by a simple one-step hydrothermal method.Different kinds of flexible sensors can be prepared,such as bending sensor,pressure sensor,humidity sensor,which can be used to detect motion,writing,breathing,other signals.This strategy can also be assigned to sensing signals on different objects,which may further expand and enrich the application of twodimensional materials in sensing.

A new three-dimensional coordination polymer [Ce_2(C_4H_4O_4)_3(H_2O)_2]_n·3.2 nH_2 O, constructed by Ce(Ⅲ) ion and succinate ion and lattice water molecules has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. It crystallizes in triclinic system, space group P1 with a = 7.8865(6), b = 12.0260(8), c = 12.2598(9) ?, α = 112.456(2)o, β = 90.046(2)o, γ = 100.423(2)o, Mr = 722.14, V = 1053.73(13) ?~3, Z = 2, Dc = 2.276 g/cm^3, μ = 4.35/mm, F(000) = 696, GOF = 1.029, R = 0.0203 and w R = 0.0570. The asymmetric unit contains two Ce^(3+) cations and both of them are nine-coordinated and their coordination geometries can be described as two distorted monocapped square antiprisms. In the title compound, a three-dimensional coordination network with one-dimensional hexagon honeycomb-like channels along the a axis is generated. TG measurement has been carried out, and its result analysis along with the powder XRD determination indicates the residue to be CeO_2.

A new copper coordination polymer[Cu2I(C7H5N4)2]n(1)with the 3-(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazole(Hpt)and copper iodide was synthesized.It crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with a=8.6380(9),b=9.2434(9),c=11.8588(12)A,α=99.5890(10)o,β=109.0990(10)o,γ=105.2800(10)o,V=829.25(15)A^3,Dc=2.180 g/cm3,Z=2,F(000)=522,GOOF=1.046,the final R=0.0245 and wR=0.0598.The crystal structure shows that two copper ions are bridged by twoμ2-η1:η0-3-(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazole anions and two iodide ions.The coordination environments of the Cu ion are Cu(1)N5 and Cu(2)N2I2,giving distorted square pyramidal geometry and trigon pyramid geometry.The magnetic and fluorescent properties of 1 were studied.

The 2,2'-((sulfonylbis(4,1-phenylene))bis(oxy))diacetic acid(H2L) and 4,4'-bipyridine(4,4'-bipy) are employed as organic ligands to react with metal salts to obtain two new metal-organic frameworks(MOFs), namely [M2L2(4,4'-bipy)](M = Zn(1), Cu(2)). They have been successfully synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that two complexes are isostructural and crystallize in orthorhombic system with space group Pbcn. All L^(2-) ligands bridge metal ions to form an infinite 1D Z-shaped chain along the a axis. Then through 4,4'-bipy, contiguous Z-shaped chains are linked to form a 2D layer structure. The luminescent studies of the H2L ligand and complex 1 in the solid state and thermogravimetric analyses(TGA) of two complexes are investigated.

Hydrogen production from water splitting provides an effective method to alleviate the ever-growing global energy crisis.In this work,delafossite CuGaO_(2)(CGO)crystal was synthesized through hydrothermal routes with Cu(NO_(3))_(2)·3H_(2)O and Ga(NO_(3))_(3)·xH_(2)O used as reactants.The addition of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB)was found to play an important role in modifying the morphology of CuGaO_(2)(CGO-CTAB).With the addition of CTAB,the morphology of CGO-CTAB samples changed from irregular flake to typical hexagonal sheet microstructure,with an average size of 1-2μm and a thick-ness of around 100 nm.Furthermore,the electrocatalytic activity of CGO-CTAB crystals for oxygen evolution reaction(OER)was also studied and compared with that of CGO crystals.CGO-CTAB samples exhibited better activity than CGO.An overpotential of 391.5 mV was shown to be able to generate a current density of 10 mA/cm^(2).The as-prepared samples also demonstrate good stability for water oxidation and relatively fast OER kinetics with a Tafel slope of 56.4 mV/dec.This work highlights the significant role of modification of CTAB surfactants in preparing CGO related crystals,and the introduc-tion of CTAB was found to help to improve their electrocatalytic activity for OER.
