Urban spatial identity,as the core content of a distinctive urban image and the representation of urban competitiveness and attraction,is critical to cities in the rapid development process.In view of maintaining and strengthening the spatial identity in a historic urban area,which is the key issue of urban construction in China at present,based on the literature review of Chinese urban spatial identity studies,three research paradigms are summarized:landscape,culture,and economy.Although the traditional evaluation method of spatial identity in historic urban areas has focused on the scarcity of characteristic resources,the relation-ship between characteristic resources and human beings has been ignored.Therefore,based on the declaration of the fundamental mechanism of urban spatial identity in historic urban areas,a new evaluation method was proposed considering four aspects,including object,subject,content,and indicators.The results indicated that the framework of evaluation and design,which is based on the assessment of the relationship between characteristic resources and human beings,is an effective strategy to improve the scientific evaluation of urban spatial identity.Our study has substantial implications for urban planners and managers in solving the urban identity crisis issue in historic urban areas.

人文主义、人道主义等概念是目前中国学术界较为火热的概念。人文主义的基本内涵偏重于人文理性与人文教化。人道主义的内涵则突出体现于人的生存。人们常常用其中的一个指代西方的humanism。在西方近代思想史上,humanism最初的内涵与人文修养相关。但是后来逐渐演化为尊重人、突出人的地位与作用的思潮。它具体体现在三个阶段,即尊重人的情欲的文艺复兴时期、尊重人的理智或理性的早期启蒙运动时期,以及尊重人的意志的晚期启蒙运动时期及其之后的若干种思潮。重人而轻神是西方humanism的基本视域,它与汉语的人道主义较为接近。

Before the Renaissance, women were always in the role of being oppressed and exploited, as a result, religion and litera-ture often focused on human weakness. On the contrary, the humanist movement focused more on human morality and wisdom. In The Merchant of Venice, Shakespeare placed an ideal of new humanist woman—Portia, who became a towering character in Shake-speare's works. From her, the spirit of pursuing love and human right can be revealed completely, influencing the development of humanism profoundly.

In this paper,we employ quantitative and qualitative content analysis to investigate the nature of humanistic value content in the Chinese language arts curriculum and whether or not this varies across old and new versions of the textbooks.Our findings illustrate the various dimensions of humanistic value content in the Chinese language arts curriculum and suggest that there is as much variation across different versions of the new textbooks as there is between old and new versions of the curriculum.

Posthumanism has in the past few years been one of the most cutting-edge theoretical topics increasingly attracting the critical attention of scholars of both humanities and social sciences.The author holds that the rise of"posthumanism”in the West during the past decades indicates that in the present era,man,like those living animals and plants on the earth,is nothing but one of the species in nature,whose existence and development to a large extent depend on natural law.It is true that posthumanism came after the crisis of humanism,but it has continuity with and transcends over the latter.It informs us that over-evaluating the role of man is by no means adequate,for man has entered into a"posthuman"stage,in which man is no longer viewed as the only species that has rational thought,nor is he the head of all the species on the earth.But man can create various wonders,some of which are even beyond man's control.Although the rise of posthumanism has raised a severe challenge and even threat to traditional humanism and human existence,the author still hopefully finds some prospects for mankind,especially in current China where a sort of ecocivilization should be built up and digital humanities may well bridge up the gap between science and humanities.

This article explores Chinese science fiction writer Liu Cixin＇s 刘慈欣 novelette ＂The Poetry Cloud＂（Shi yun, 1997） by contextualizing it within the debate between scientism and humanism in 1990s China, an event that has been downplayed in its significance in shaping Liu＇s ideas. The first section of this article will investigate how the narrative framework of science fiction represents and refreshes the symbolic meaning of poetry in the abovementioned context. Secondly, by analyzing the three main characters, Yiyi, Big-tooth, and Li Bai, with a focus on their perceptions of poetry, the next section will discuss the different opinions they represent with regard to the debate. Finally, by studying Liu＇s work in the context of Martin Heidegger＇s reflections upon technology, the last section examines his solution to the tension between scientism and humanism in the programming of a poetry cloud that marries poetic imagination with technological means. This article argues that the story demonstrates how Liu, a technological elite, vacillates between technological determinism and humanism, and tries to provide a possible solution to their inherent contradictions.
