The world animal geographical regionalization scheme and the plant geographical regionalization scheme have been formulated by zoologists and botanists respectively since the biogeography has been established.This research team initially confirmed the homogeneity of Chinese animal and plant geography.To explore the relationship between the distribution pattern of global animals,plants,and microorganisms,global 141,814 genera of terrestrial animals,17,526 genera of plants,21,321 genera of microorganisms,and their major taxa were analyzed using their proposed SGF(Similarity General Formula)and a new multivariate similarity clustering analysis method.Almost identical analytical results were obtained,meeting the requirements of statistics,geography,ecology and biology respectively.The expected consistency of their distribution pattern was achieved for the first time.We prove that the earth’s ecological conditions affect the homogeneity and accumulation of the distribution of animals,plants and microorganisms.homogeneity determines the distribution pattern of global kinds of biological consistency,accumulation determines the impact of the evolutionary period on the breadth of distribution,microorganisms appear earliest,plants second,animals later,and their average distribution domain decreases in turn,reflecting these differences.Therefore,this study not only provides a theoretical basis and quantitative basis for the establishment of geographical regionalization scheme but also advances the development of biogeography to a new stage and raises the theory of biogeographic analysis to a new height.

The influence of phase components of tungsten oxide on homogeneity of ultrafine tungsten powder by conventional hydrogen reduction techniques was studied. Results show that phase components of tungsten oxide play a crucial role on homogeneity of metal tungsten powder; ultrafine and homogeneous tungsten powder can be produced from oxides which consist of only one phase. Due to the different reduction rates (or different reduction paths) of oxide which comprises different phases, the multi phase components tungsten oxide leads to a fine but in homogeneous metal tungsten powder.

Manganese-substituted magnetite ferrofluids(FFs)Mnx Fe_(1-x)Fe_(2)O_(4)(x=0–0.8)were prepared in this work through a chemical coprecipitation reaction.The controlled growth of FF nanomaterials for antibacterial activities is challenging,and therefore,very few reports are available on the topic.This research focuses on stabilizing aqueous FFs with the tetramethylammonium hydroxide surfactant to achieve high homogeneity.Morphological characterization reveals nanoparticles of 5–11 nm formed by the chemical reaction and nanocrystalline nature,as evident from structural investigations.Mn-substituted magnetic FFs are analyzed for their structural,functional,and antibacterial performance according to the Mn-substituent content.Optical studies show a high blue shift for Mn^(2+)-substituted Mnx Fe_(1-x)Fe_(2)O_(4)with the theoretical correlation of optical band gaps with the Mn content.The superparamagnetic nature of substituted FFs causes zero coercivity and remanence,which consequently influence the particle size,cation distribution,and spin canting.The structural and functional performance of the FFs is correlated with the antibacterial activity,finally demonstrating the highest inhibition zone formation for Mnx Fe_(1-x)Fe_(2)O_(4)FFs.

The coaxial mixers enhance the suspension of concentrated slurries in an agitated reactor.In this research work,the complex slurry suspension and dissemination behavior in a coaxial slurry mixing system(comprised of a close clearance anchor rotating with a low speed and an inner axial impeller rotating with a high speed)was analyzed employing ERT(electrical resistance tomography,a non-intrusive flow visualization technique),and computational fluid dynamics(CFD).The numerical models were validated by comparing the axial solid concentration profiles generated using the ERT data and the CFD simulation results.The influences of various important parameters such as the diameter of the inner axial impeller,the inner impeller type,and the inner impeller spacing on the hydrodynamic characteristics of the slurry suspensions in a coaxial mixing vessel were thoroughly analyzed.The radial and axial velocity profiles of solid particles were generated using the validated mathematical models.The assessment of energy loss due to the solid-solid collisions,the particle-fluid frictions,and the particle-vessel wall collisions was conducted.The evaluation of optimum inner impeller clearance and inner impeller diameter is essential to attain a high degree of solids suspension and dissemination in a coaxial slurry mixing system.

Eastern Black Sea Region in northeastern part of Turkey has the highest precipitation total in the country, approaching 2500 mm per a year. It is therefore an important region as it frequently encounters with flash floods due to heavy rains. For future planning of water resources, environment and urbanization, it is important to know the expected behavior of hydrometeorological processes, mainly precipitation and flow. Due to these facts, in this study, homogeneity of long-term annual precipitation and streamflow series of the Eastern Black Sea Region, Turkey is checked using double mass curve method and trends are determined by means of the Mann-Kendall test. The data network consists of 38 precipitation gauging stations and 40 flow gauging stations across the Eastern Black Sea Region. It is found that 27 precipitation stations out of 38 are homogeneous and no trend is available. Out of the remaining stations, nine are found non-homogeneous and four with trend. For annual flow data, it is found that 22 stations out of 40 are homogeneous and no trend is available. The remaining 18 stations are found non-homogeneous, among which 5 stations have trend at the same time.

Morphologically homogeneous groups,either living populations or fossil paleo-populations,must be regarded as ecological species,independent of their molecular genetic resemblance in living forms.Morphology is always expressed during development by structure genes initiated from a network of regulator genes acting at different times and intensities,additionally being subjected to epigenetic controls.Therefore,homogeneous populations influenced by the environment represent species better than the reproduction(biological species)or molecular-genetic approach using ancestral sequences like rDNA.Living and fossil representatives of nummulitid foraminifera were chosen to demonstrate complete reconstruction of morphology using metrical growth-invariant and growth-independent characters.Using these characters,6 models were established to define ecological species in living and fossil species.Furthermore,a distinction between evolutionary and environmental effects in fossil forms was possible using discriminant analysis showing characters that are responsible for differentiating between evolutionary and environmental trends.
