high resolution range imaging with correlation processing suffers from high sidelobe pedestal in random frequency-hopping wideband radar. After the factors which affect the sidelobe pedestal being analyzed, a compressed sensing based algorithm for high resolution range imaging and a new minimized ll-norm criterion for motion compensation are proposed. The random hopping of the transmitted carrier frequency is converted to restricted isometry property of the observing matrix. Then practical problems of imaging model solution and signal parameter design are resolved. Due to the particularity of the proposed algorithm, two new indicators of range profile, i.e., average signal to sidelobe ratio and local similarity, are defined. The chamber measured data are adopted to testify the validity of the proposed algorithm, and simulations are performed to analyze the precision of velocity measurement as well as the performance of motion compensation. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has such advantages as high precision velocity measurement, low sidelobe and short period imaging, which ensure robust imaging for moving targets when signal-to-noise ratio is above 10 dB.

In radar target recognition based on kernel method, Support vector data description(SVDD) has been applied to high resolution range profiles(HRRPs)recognition. In this paper, first, three distribution models,i.e., Membership model, Cloud model, Gaussian mixture model, are developed to describe distribution characteristics of HRRPs in extended space. Secondly, test HRRPs in multi-target hypersphere spaces are classified, in accordance with their multi-space distributing characteristics,into two types, i.e., shrink sample and slack sample. Determination of the property of a test sample is achieved by using the minimum relative distance for shrink samples and three distribution models for slack samples, respectively. Thus three HRRP recognition methods based on dual space SVDD are formed. The extensive experiment results for HRRPs of four planes show that the proposed methods have better recognition performance than the recognition method based on single space SVDD.

The random stepped frequency chirp signal(RSFCS)has better performance in anti-jamming than that of conventional stepped frequency chirp signal(SFCS).In combination with the theory of compressing sensing(CS),a novel ISAR imaging method is proposed based on RSFCS,in which the high resolution range profile(HRRP)is reconstructed by using the conventional OMP algorithm,whereas the cognitive approach is introduced to further reduce the number of sub-pulse in *** the proposed method,via cognizing the characteristics of moving targets,the number of sub-pulse in each burst can be adjusted ***,in the cross-range direction,the accurate reconstruction of ISAR image by using CS theory is implemented,which can effectively accomplish *** the proposed method,high quality HRRP and ISAR image can be achieved with fewer sub-pulses of RSFCS and lower burst repetition frequency(BRF).Some simulation results are given to validate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed algorithm.
