Saving the information in the materials who can display different states in different conditions is an important optical method of information *** and stimulation-responsive dyes are two typical materials in this method,whereas they usually suffer problems of photobleaching and aggregation-induced quenching. By contrast, assembly materials with periodicities equal to the wavelength of visual light own structural colors, which are free of those problems. In this work,the structural color of cellulose nanocrystals（CNCs） assembly was successfully controlled in ultraviolet region, which hide the information of patterned CNC assembly films under natural light. Periodically arranged CNCs could even enhance scattering, which was similar to the photonic crystals. This feature made the hided information of the CNC films readable as enhanced scattering blue light under an ultraviolet lamp. By an evaporation-induced method, CNCs could arrange vertically,which removed the usual chirality and iridescence of assemble films of CNCs as rod-like nanoparticles. This resulted in a structural single color, which prevented the information from being misread due to the iridescence.
