The effects and heat transfer mode of water film and sprinkler system on the heat-resistant property associated with the insulation of a fireproof glass were investigated. In the experiments, fireproof glass with a size of 3 300 mm （height）×2 200 mm （width） ×12 mm （thickness） was exposed to an oil pool fire with a power of approximately 1.4 MW. The experimental results show that the application of the water film or sprinkler system on the glass can effectively resist the intensive heat from the fire in the test due to the absorption of latent heat. The permitted period of integrity and insulation with a water film and a sprinkler system could be extended to 60 min. It should be noted that the temperature of the glass surface Can be kept under 60℃in a 60 min test. The experimental results suggest that it is feasible to substitute fireproof glass with water film for a fireproof door as long as the water film or sprinkler system can work stably and water can cover the whole surface of the frreproof glass.

Separator is a pivotal component of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)and determines the electrochemical performance and ***,with the increase in energy density and application scenarios,commercial polyolefin separators are increasingly unable to undertake heavy responsibility of battery safety ***,a new kind of nanofiber separator based on poly(ether ether ketone)(PEEK)with excellent thermal stability,self-extinguishing,and superior electrochemical properties is *** inheritance of intrinsic properties from raw PEEK materials and optimized hot-pressing operation endows the separator with high robustness and wettability,showing tensile strength of 15.8 MPa and a contact angle of 17.2°.The high thermal stability of PEEK can ensure the separator to preserve the structural integrity and microstructure at temperatures beyond 300℃,and the excellent self-extinguishing peculiarity of PEEK capacitates the high safety of ***,benefitting from high porosity and polar surface,the PEEK separator shows high electrolyte uptake of 245.5%and exhibits a wider electrochemical window and faster lithium-ion transport number than commercial polyolefin ***,cells assembled with PEEK separator display better performance than the ones with PE separator,and the PEEK LIB has been successfully used to light up a lamp at a high temperature of 150℃.

To improve the strength, toughness and heat-resistance of magnesium alloy, the microstrucmre and mechanical properties of ZA54 alloy reinforced by icosahedral quasicrystal phase （/-phase） particles were studied. Except α-Mg, φ-phase and τ-phase, MgZnYMn I-phase particles can be obtained in ZA54-based composites by the addition of icosahedral quasicrystal-contained Mg-Zn-Y-Mn master alloy. The introduction of MgZnYMn I-phase into ZA54 alloy has great contribution to the refinement of matrix microstructures and the improvement of mechanical properties. When the addition of Mg-based spherical quasicrystal master alloy is up to 3.5% （mass fraction）, the macro-hardness of ZA54-based composites is increased to HB 68. The impact toughness of composites reaches the peak value of 18.3 J/cm^2, which is about 29% higher than that of ZA54 mother alloy. The highest tensile properties at ambient and elevated temperatures with master alloy addition of 2.5% （473 K） are also obtained in ZA54-based composites with 3.5% （mass fraction） Mg-Zn-Y-Mn master alloy addition. The ultimate tensile strength of composites at ambient and elevated temperatures are 192.5 MPa and 174 MPa, which are 23.4% and 33.8% higher than that of ZA54 mother alloy, respectively. The improved mechanical properties are mainly attributed to the pinning effect of I-phase on grain boundaries.

Poly(lactide acid)(PLA)foams have shown considerable promise as eco-friendly alternatives to nondegradable plastic foams,such as polystyrene(PS)***,PLA foam typically suffers from low heat-resistance and poor cellular structure stemming from its inherent slow crystallization rate and low melt *** this study,a high-performance PLA foam with well-defined cell morphology,exceptional strength and enhanced heat-resistance was successfully fabricated via a core-back microcellular injection molding(MIM)*** scanning calorimetry(DSC)results revealed that the added hydrazine-based nucleating agent(HNA)significantly increased the crystallization temperature and accelerated the crystallization process of ***,the addition of a 1.5 wt%of HNA led to a significant reduction in PLA’s cell size,from 43.5µm to 2.87µm,and a remarkable increase in cell density,from 1.08×10^(7)cells/cm^(3)to 2.15×10^(10)cells/cm^(3).This enhancement resulted in a final crystallinity of approximately 55.7%for the PLA blend foam,a marked improvement compared to the pure PLA ***,at 1.5 wt%HNA concentration,the tensile strength and tensile toughness of PLA blend foams demonstrated remarkable improvements of 136%and 463%,***,the Vicat softening temperature of PLA blend foam increased significantly to 134.8°C,whereas the pure PLA foam exhibited only about 59.7℃.These findings underscore the potential for the preparation of lightweight injection-molded PLA foam with enhanced toughness and heat-resistance,which offers a viable approach for the production of high-performance PLA foams suitable for large-scale applications.

The structure of RE-Ag alloy was observed and analyzed using electron probe. The property changes of the alloy containing two rare earth elements AgLaY during cold forming and the high temperature softening-resistance during annealing were studied using Vickers hardness tester. The distribution and action of the rare earth elements in Ag-alloy were also analyzed. Experimental results show that AgLaY alloy has more remarkable work-hardening effect than AgLa and pure silver, and it also has better thermal-resistance. The effects of RE elements, La and Y, on the properties of Ag-alloy are attributable to their symbiotic distribution and complementary function. Because of the common properties of La and Y as RE elements, they have the completely similar distribution in Ag-alloy. At the same time, La and Y make full use of complementary role in the alloy since they belong to different periods in periodic table and have differences in atomic structure and properties.

A series of novel poly（aryl ether nitrile）s containing phthalazinone moiety were synthesized by the nucleophilic displacement reaction of bisphenol-like monomers （I） with 2,6-difluorobenzonitrile. The inherent viscosities ranged from 0.46 to 1.07 dL g^-1. The glass transition temperatures were in the range of 277-295℃, and the temperatures for 10% weight loss in nitrogen atmosphere were found between 495 and 527 ℃. The structures of these resultant polymers were confirmed by FT-IR and 1^H NMR. Moreover, the properties of poly（aryl ether nitrile）s including solubility and crystallinity were also studied.

Electron beam (EB) curing of composites has many advantages. heat-resistant EB-curing composites could substitute polyimide composites used in aeronautical engines. In this paper, the effects of catalyst and dose on the cured resin were investigated. The heat-resistance of the resin cured by EB was evaluated by dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). The experimental results show that the mechanical properties of the composites cured by EB could meet the specifications of aeronautical engines at 250 degreesC.

Antioxidant and isozyme features of two strains of Laminaria japonica (Phaeophyceae)

Healthy sporophytes of two gametophyte mutants of Laminariajaponica with different heat resistances： kelp 901 （901, with comparatively stronger heat-resistance） and Rongcheng No. I （RC, sensitive to heat stress）, were respectively collected during October to December 2002 from Yantai and Rongcheng Sea Farm in the Shandong Peninsula of China. The contents of some biochemical materials and antioxidant capacity were analyzed under controlled laboratory conditions to identify if there is any relation between the overall antioxidant capacity and the heat-resistance in L. japonica and to understand possible mechanism of heat-resistance. Results show that：（1） the overall antioxidant capacity in healthy sporophyte of 901, such as vitamin E, polyphenol, and ascorbic acid contents and the enzymatic activity of SOD, POD, CAT, Gpx, PPO, and PAL, were not always higher than that of RC under controlled laboratory conditions, and no significance （P〉0.05） was shown in total antioxidant capacity （T-AOC） in 901 and RC. Result suggested that the difference in antioxidant capacity was not a decisive factor for different heat-resistances in L. japonica; （2） the simultaneous assay on isozymes was carried out using vertical polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis （PAGE）. Considerable differences in peroxide （PRX）, malate dehydrogenase （MDH）, malic enzyme （ME）, polyphenol oxidase （PPO） and glutamate dehydrogenase （GDH） were obtained in 901 and RC from either the band number, relative mobility （Rf）, or staining intensity, and ME could be used as an indicator to distinguish healthy sporophyte of 901 and RC under controlled laboratory conditions.
