The effects of pristine polystyrene microplastics(pMPs)without any pretreatment at different concentrations(0,10,20,50,and 100 mg/L)on Phaeodactylum tricornutum Bohlin at two initial algae densities(105 and 106 cells/mL)were assessed in this ***-like effects were found when microalgae grew with *** results showed that pMPs inhibited microalgae growth under a high concentration of microplastics tolerated by individual algal cell(low initial algae density)(up to-80.189.71%)but promoted growth when the situation was opposite(up to 15.273.66%).The contents of photosynthetic pigments including chlorophyll a,chlorophyll c and carotenoids showed resistance to pMPs stress under a low initial algae density and increased with time,but the opposite was true under a high initial algae *** with the low initial algae density group,Qp received less inhibition,and NPQ(heat dissipation)also decreased under the high initial algae *** the low initial algae density,OJIP parameters such as Sm,N,Area,Pi Abs,ѱo,φEo,TRo/RC and ETo/RC were more perturbed initially and returned to the levels of the control group(without pMPs)over time,but they remained stable throughout the experiment at high initial algae *** results show that microplastics in the marine environment may have different toxic effects on *** at different growth stages,which is of great significance for understanding the impact of microplastics on marine microalgae and aquatic ecosystems.

Optimization of nutrient conditions and growth of Telfairia occidentalis Hooker fil in a hydroponic system was the focus of this study. The study evaluated the growth of T. occidentalis under varying growth media subject to the amount of NPK 20-10-10 granules (25 g, 50 g, 75 g, 100 g, 125 g, and 150 g, respectively) dissolved in water containing micronutrients. The growth media were M25NPK, M50NPK, M75NPK, M100NPK, M125NPK, M150NPK, and Control. Two-week-old seedlings of T. occidentalis raised using River-sand were transferred into the growth media;in four replicates. The growth indices [vine main length (VML), number of leaves (NL), stem girth (SG), petiole length (PL), internode (LI), leaf area (LA), and total leaf area (TLA)] of T. occidentalis were measured weekly. The root length (RL), root fresh weight (RFW), root dry weight (RDW), and pigment components were determined 5 weeks after planting (WAP) following standard procedures. The results recorded indicated that the average pH value (6.74) and sulphate content (0.047 ppm) of the growth media increased while the electrical conductivity (94.443 μS) reduced after 28 days. The proportion of the minerals varied in the hydroponic solutions. Across the growth media, the Control medium had the highest VML, NL, LA, TLA, PL, and pigment composition of T. occidentalis. However, among the NPK growth media, the M25NPK medium effectively enhanced VML, NL, LA, TLA, carotenoid content, RL, RFW, and RDW. The study showed that the mineral composition of the growth media enhanced the growth of T. occidentalis. Hence, M25NPK growth media are recommended for growing T. occidentalis.

The Samandeni reservoir in Burkina Faso, impounded in 2017, hosts a significant diversity of fish, including the Clariidae family. The fish stocks have been exploited since 2019, when the reservoir was opened to fishermen. However, no assessment of the status of these stocks has been conducted. The present study focused on the dynamics of Clarias anguillaris exploitation in order to have reliable information that can contribute to the planning of its sustainable exploitation. Length-frequency data on 323 individuals were sampled from commercial catches from March 2021 to February 2022. The growth parameters were determined using ELEFAN method and the stock assessment was done using the Bayesian Length-Based Biomass (LBB) method. The growth analysis showed isometry for both male and female fishes with allometric coefficient value of 3.03, 3.01 and 3.17 respectively for mixed sexes, male and female. Estimates values (0.6 and 0.4) of the growth oscillation intensity indicate the existence of seasonal growth. The relative biomass (B/B0) estimated for C. anguillaris was less than the relative biomass that produces the maximum sustainable yield (BMSY/B0) indicating biomass overfishing. In addition, the length at first capture was less than the optimal length at first capture indicating a growth overfishing status. Therefore, it would be desirable to increase the mesh size of the fishing gear so that juveniles are not caught, which will ensure an ecological sustainability of the exploitation of the Clariidae.

A trial ofAvicennia officinalis L. with five different spacings was conducted in the newly accreted lands along the western coastline （Patuakhali district） of Bangladesh since 1993 to assess growth perform- ance and the effect of spacing on tree growth. Data on tree density, height, diameter, bole height, crown diameter were recorded and ana- lyzed when the stand was 19 years old. Mean height ranged from 12.89-13.52 m and diameter at breast height （dbh） from 26.57-32.16 cm in plots of different spacings. The mean annual height increment ranged from 0,67-0.71 m, mean annual diameter increment from 1.40-1.69 cm and wood volume from 6.02-10.04 ***＇*** in different treatments. Significantly greater diameter （32.16 cm） and wood volume （10.04 ***.a-1） were obtained with wider （2.13 m × 2.13 m） spacing than with closer spacings. But tree growth was unaffected by other spacings. growth data were also recorded from other .4. officinalis plantations raised by Forest Department （FD） on different islands in Patuakhali and Bhola districts of Bangladesh. At these sites, mean annual height incre- ment ranged from 0.33-0.62 m, mean annual diameter increment from 0.72-1,37 cm and wood volume from 1.55-5.73 m3·ha-1·a·-1. The growth performance of A. offindicated that the newly aecreted lands along the western shoreline may be suitable for raising Avicennia planta- tions for the enrichment of coastal vegetation.

In domestic animals,the body weight is the ultimate result of growth which forms the basis of meat ***,nutrition,breed and health are the main factors which influence the growth rate in *** which is the major factor affecting the prenatal growth either directly through the genotype of the fetus or indirectly through the genotype of the *** prenatal growth patterns and development of the camel fetus is just like the fetus of cattle,however,the meat output from the breeding she-camels is limited often due to longer gestation periods,longer milk feeding periods,lower calving rates under traditional management system.A lot of variation regarding camelid daily growth rate exists that varies widely between breeds,within breeds and *** is a significant effect of pre-weaning and post-weaning growth rates on the final body weights in *** system,the available milk quantity,husbandry practices and vegetative conditions are the main factors that affect the pre and post weaning growth rates of camel ***,it is partially dependent on the availability of browsing species throughout the whole *** this specific study,an effort has been drawn to look into the literature data for camel growth assessment.

The nucleation and growth of eutectic cell in hypoeutectic Al-Si alloy was investigated using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy equipped with electron backscattering diffraction（EBSD）.By revealing the eutectic cells and analyzing the crystallographic orientation,it was found that both the eutectic Si and Al phases in an eutectic cell were not single crystal,representing an eutectic cell consisting of small ＇grains＇.It is also suggested that the eutectic nucleation mode can not be determined based on the crystallographic orientation between eutectic Al phases and the neighboring primary dendrite Al ***,the evolution of primary dendrite Al phases affects remarkably the following nucleation and growth of eutectic *** coarse flake-fine fibrous transition of eutectic Si morphology involved in impurity elements modification may be independent of eutectic nucleation.

Pattern selection during crystal growth is studied by using the anisotropic lattice Boltzmann-phase field *** the model,the phase transition,melt flows,and heat transfer are coupled and mathematically described by using the lattice Boltzmann(LB)*** anisotropic streaming-relaxation operation fitting into the LB framework is implemented to model interface advancing with various preferred *** pattern evolutions are then numerically investigated in the conditions of with and without melt *** is found that melt flows can significantly influence heat transfer,crystal growth behavior,and phase *** crystal morphological transition from dendrite,seaweed to cauliflower-like patterns occurs with the increase of *** interface normal angles and curvature distributions are proposed to quantitatively characterize crystal *** results demonstrate that the distributions are corresponding to crystal morphological features,and they can be therefore used to describe the evolution of crystal patterns in a quantitative way.
