Sedimentary conditions for good coal reservoir development in the Carboniferous and Permian,Qinshui Basin

In the Carboniferous and Permian of the Qin-shui Basin, coal reservoirs are well developed. But different coal reservoirs are obviously different in distribution, thickness and reservoir performance, etc. This paper studies the factors controlling the development and distribution of good coal reservoirs from the viewpoint of sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy. The study shows that good coal reservoirs are mainly formed in marsh environments on tidal flats and delta plains. The coal reservoirs formed on tidal flats are more continuous laterally than those on delta plains. The fluctuation of sea level shows important control over the vertical and lateral distribution of coal reservoirs. Generally speaking, the coal reservoirs formed in the highstand system tracts are more abundant, thicker and more widespread, and thus the highstand system tracts are more favorable to the formation of good coal reservoirs. The coal reservoirs formed in the transgressive system tracts are lower in abundance, thinner and much less widespread, and thus the transgressive system tracts are not favorable to the formation of good coal reservoirs.

Ancient Chinese philosophy has explored the relationship between the good and the right in a quite distinct way from modern Western *** to its insights rooted in real life,the fundamental function of the right is neither to have little to do with the good as deontology claims,nor merely to produce more good in quantitative terms as consequentialism claims,but is to ensure the primary good and prevent the primary evil,both of which are of top importance to human life first and foremost in qualitative terms.

Nathaniel Hawthorne not only strongly condemns the belief that men are more evil than good, but also conveys the inclination towards good through the Scarlet Letter. The characters like Hester Prynne, Dimmesdale, Chillingworth and even the community are the specific examples. Despite the fact that good and evil coexist in human nature, human beings are liable to be strongly affected and controlled by the striving towards good.

Viewed from the perspective of meta-ethics,there is some semantic equivalence between the good as desirability and the right as acceptability,so that we can claim that whatever is desirable for a person is also acceptable to and thus right for her or him in terms of its very *** the debate with deontology,then,this equivalence gives consequentialism an advantage,because it could prove that the good on its own is always right,and the evil on its own is always ***,it also puts consequentialism at a disadvantage,because consequentialism could hardly answer a tough question:why do we seriously need another criterion of right and wrong besides the one of good and evil in evaluation?

Jeffery Nicholas differentiates between objective reason as a practice of evaluation that provides justification and critique and subjective rationality as a subspecies of reason limited to means-ends forms of reasoning. He believes that modem crisis is a crisis of reason due to the dominant form of reason in modernity, i.e., subjective rationality. Nicholas aspires to develop a substantive form of reason to base a critical theory of society aimed at human emancipation in the spirit of the Frankfurt School. The most interesting part of this effort is that although Nicholas thinks that Habermas＇s theory of procedural and situated communicative rationality is an initial step towards a substantive conception of reason, he recognizes the limitations of formalism in this conception and argues that the requisite terms provides Maclntyre＇s theory of tradition-constituted and tradition-constitutive reason. The mediating figure in this project is Charles Taylor, whose critique, first, is used against Habermas and, then, his Gadamerian idea of the ＂fusion of horizons＂ is adopted in order to expand Maclntyre＇s theory.
