Study of the deformed halo nucleus^(31)Ne with glauber model based on microscopic self-consistent structures

The exotic deformed nucleus^(31)Ne is studied with an approach that combines self-consistent structure and reaction *** deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum(DRHBc)is utilized to demonstrate that deformation and pairing correlations give rise to a halo structure with a large-amplitude p-wave configuration in^(31)*** the valence nucleon wave functions and angle-averaged density distributions of ^(30)Ne from this theory are used as input for the glauber reaction model to study the observables of neutron-rich neon isotopes to search halo *** NL1 effective interaction,our predictions of the reaction cross sections for these exotic neon isotopes on a carbon target can better reproduce the experimental data than those from the relativistic mean field model for a spherical shape with resonances and pairing correlation contributions,and are roughly 3.3%(∼50 mb)larger than those with Gaussian function-fitted densities of the core *** calculated one-neutron removal cross section at 240 MeV/nucleon,and the inclusive longitudinal momentum distribution of the 30Ne residues from the^(31)Ne breakup reaction are largely improved over previous theoretical predictions and agree well with *** reaction evalu-ations indicate a dilute density distribution in coordinate space and are a canonical signature of a halo ***,our predictions with the NL3 and PK1 effective interactions give slightly better descriptions of reaction observables for exotic neon isotopes.

The glauber model correction towards equilibrium

We introduce a pre-hydrodynamic correction to the commonly used glauber model to bring the random scattering information to the initial condition of the hydrodynamic description for the heavy ion *** results of this correction obviously shrink the value of the elliptic flow in the medium momentum region and move the corresponding momentum of the maximum v 2 forwards to smaller p T *** fit the experimental data quite *** correction implies that the quark-gluon plasma(QGP) has reached the thermal equilibrium when the hydrodynamic expansion *** a conclusion of quick-equilibrium confirms the conclusion that QGP is a strongly interacting system.

Radius studies of 8Li and 8B using the optical-limit glauber model in conjunction with relativistic mean-field theory

We study the reaction cross sections(σR) and root-mean-square(RMS) radii of 8Li and 8B,the halo-like nuclei,with stable target 12C,27Al and 9Be within the standard optical-limit glauber model,using densities obtained from relativistic mean-field(RMF) formalisms and other types of *** is found that the experimental σR can be reproduced well at high *** RMS radius and △r extracted by RMFtheory and harmonic oscillator distribution are *** find that the RMS radius and △r of 8B are larger than those of *** addition,we analyze in detail the relationship between σR and density distribution.

We report the charge-changing cross sections(σ_(cc))of 24 p-shell nuclides on both hydrogen and carbon at about 900A MeV,of which^(8,9)Li,^(10–12)Be,^(10,14,15)B,^(14,15,17–22)N and^(16)O on hydrogen and^(8,9)Li on carbon are for the first *** from the data set,we found a new and robust relationship between the scaling factor of the glauber model calculations and the separation energies of the nuclei of interest on both *** allows us to deduce proton radii(R_p)for the first time from the cross sections on *** identical R_p values are deduced from both target data for the neutron-rich carbon isotopes;however,the R_p from the hydrogen target is systematically smaller in the neutron-rich nitrogen *** calls for further experimental and theoretical investigations.

Cold nuclear matter effects on J/ψ production in d-Au collisions

The medium modifications of J/ψ production in d-Au collisions at SNN = 200 GeV are studied in the glauber model. By means of the c.m. energy loss parameter per collision studied in Drell-Yan process, taking account of the inhomogeneous shadowing effect, we find that the initial-state energy loss effect can be ignored in d-Au collisions at mid-rapidity. Then, the final-state J/ψ absorption effect is also considered and the theoretical results are in good agreement with the recent experimental data given by PHENIX. Finally, the experimental results of J/ψ production in d-Pb collisions are also predicted at RHIC and LHC energies respectively.

Centrality dependences of the pseudorapidity distributions of charged particles in Au+Au collisions at RHIC energies

By employing the glauber model, we give the centrality dependences of the numbers of participants and binary nucleon-nucleon collisions in nucleus-nucleus collisions. By taking into account the energy loss of the participants in their multiple collisions, we then present the pseudorapidity distributions of charged particles in nucleus-nucleus collisions as a function of beam energy and impact parameter. Finally, we analyze the centrality dependence of the pseudorapidity of the charged particles in Au＋Au collisions at energies from √SNN=19.6 to 200 GeV. The theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimental observations of the RHIC-PHOBOS collaboration.

Pseudorapidity distribution of multiplicity in Au+Au collisions at (S_(NN))^(1/2)=200 GeV

Using the glauber model, we discuss the number of binary nucleon-nucleon collisions in heavy-ion collisions. Based on the latter, after considering the effect of energy loss of the nucleons in multiple collisions, we derive the pseudorapidity distribution of the multiplicity as a function of the impact parameter in nucleus-nucleus collisions. Using this, we analyze the experimental measurements carried out by the BRAHMS Collaboration in Au ＋ Au collisions at √^SNN=20GeV. The results are in good agreement with the experimental observations.

Measurement of the total reaction cross section for the mirror nuclei ^(12)N and ^(12)B

The mirror nuclei ^12N and ^12B are separated by the Radioactive Ion Beam Line in Lanzhou （RIBLL） at HIRFL from the breakup of 78.6 MeV/u 14N on a Be target. The total reaction cross-sections of ^12N at 34.9 MeV/u and ^12B at 54.4 MeV/u on a Si target have been measured by using the transmission method. Assuming ^12N consists of a ^11C core plus one halo proton, the excitation function of ^12N and ^12B on a Si target and a C target were calculated with the Glanber model. It can fit the experimental data very well. The characteristic halo structure for ^12N was found with a large diffusion of the protons density distribution.

Nonlinear relativistic mean-field theory studies on He isotopes

The ground state properties of He isotopes are studied in the nonlinear relativistic mean-field（RMF）theory with force parameters NL-SH and TM2. The modified glauber model is introduced as a gatekeeper to check the calculations. The investigation shows that the RMF theory provides a good description on the properties of He isotopes. The many-body space information of ^4He ＋ neutrons is obtained reliably. As a product, the calculation gives strong evidence for a neutron halo in ^5He.

Charged-particle pseudorapidity distributions in Au+Au collisions at RHIC

Using the glauber model, we present the formulas for calculating the numbers of participants, spectators and binary nucleon-nucleon collisions. Based on this work, we get the pseudorapidity distributions of charged particles as the function of the impact parameter in nucleus-nucleus collisions. The theoretical results agree well with the experimental observations made by the BRAHMS Collaboration in Au＋Au collisions at √^SNN=200 GeV in different centrality bins over the whole pseudorapidity range.
