In order to overcome the problem of path planning failure in traditional potential field method, an improved potential field path planning method based on genetic algorithm is proposed in this paper. Firstly, for the problem of inaccessibility of the target, a factor method is added to the traditional gravity function to solve it;then the local minimum point problem of the traditional artificial potential field method is solved to ensure that the robot can reach the target point. At the same time, in order to get the optimal path, genetic algorithm is used to optimize the combined potential field function of gravity and repulsion, to find the lowest point of potential energy directly, so as to determine the step size and moving direction of the robot. Simulation is carried out to verify the effectiveness of the method.

Based on the models developed by Lerche et al. (1984) and Pang et al. (1993), an improved model for calculating paleoheat flow into basins is investigated. The new model is an optimization problem with the state variables governed by a thermal conduction equation. A genetic algorithm is used to solve the highly nonlinear optimization problem. As an application, the model is applied to the research into the history of heat flow in the Pearl River Mouth basin located in the South China Sea. The numerical analysis shows that the simulation results are in good agreement with the measured data and indicates that the basin may have undergone three rifting and thermal events. It is also demonstrated that a high R0 gradient reflects a response to high paleoheat flow during the early, rapid subsidence stage, while a low R0 gradient is a result of the thermal decay during the thermal subsidence because of thermal contraction of a cooling lithosphere.

Unit commitment and economic dispatch are two important decisions in thermal power generation scheduling. The tasks involve determination and allocation of power generation to thermal units that minimize the total power generation cost and satisfy the production *** paper presents a cascade genetic Algorithm and Particle Swarm Optimization(GA-PSO)approach for solving thermal power generation scheduling based on a layered matrix encoding *** proposed hybrid method is compared to layered matrix encoding GA using the thermal power generation problem given in Williams[1]to demonstrate its effectiveness in generating an optimal,cost-effective power generation *** results showed that cascade GA-PSO outperformed the layered matrix encoding GA in minimizing the total power production cost for unit commitment and power dispatch problems.

The optional types of power source and actuator in the aircraft are more and more diverse due to fast development in more electric technology, which makes the combinations of different power sources and actuators become extremely complex in the architecture optimization process of airborne actuation system. The traditional ＂trial and error＂ method cannot satisfy the design demands. In this paper, firstly, the composition of more electric aircraft （MEA） flight control actuation system （FCAS） is introduced, and the possible architecture quantity is calculated. Secondly, the evaluation criteria of FCAS architecture with respect to safe reliability, weight and efficiency are proposed, and the evaluation criteria values are calculated in the case that each control surface adopts the same actuator configuration. Finally, the optimization results of MEA FCAS architecture are obtained by applying genetic algorithm （GA）. Compared to the traditional actuation system architecture, which only adopts servo valve controlled hydraulic actuators, the weight of the optimized more electric actuation system architecture can be reduced by 6%, and the efficiency can be improved by 30% based on the safe reliability requirements.

In order to find out the optimal press bend forming path in fabricating aircraft integral panels, this article proposes a new method on the basis of the authors＇ previous work. It is composed of the finite element method （FEM） equivalent model, the surface curvature analysis, the artificial neural network response surface and the genetic algorithm. The method begins with analyzing the objective＇s shape curvature to determine the bending position. Then it optimizes the punch travel at each bending position by the following steps：（1） Establish a multi-step press bend forming FEM equivalent model, with which the FEM ex- periments designed with the Taguchi method are performed. （2） Construct a back-propagation （BP） neural network response surface with the data from the FEM experiments. （3） Use the genetic algorithm to optimize the neural network response surface as the objective function. Finally, this method is verified by press bending a complicated double-curvature grid-type stiffened panel and bears out its effectiveness and intrinsic worth in designing the press bend forming path.

In this study, hybrid computational frameworks are developed for active noise control（ANC） systems using an evolutionary computing technique based on genetic algorithms（GAs） and interior-point method（IPM）, following an integrated approach, GA-IPM. Standard ANC systems are usually implemented with the filtered extended least mean square algorithm for optimization of coefficients for the linear finite-impulse response filter, but are likely to become trapped in local minima（LM）. This issue is addressed with the proposed GA-IPM computing approach which is considerably less prone to the LM problem. Also, there is no requirement to identify a secondary path for the ANC system used in the scheme. The design method is evaluated using an ANC model of a headset with sinusoidal, random, and complex random noise interferences under several scenarios based on linear and nonlinear primary and secondary paths. The accuracy and convergence of the proposed scheme are validated based on the results of statistical analysis of a large number of independent runs of the algorithm.

Compared with binary diffractive super-resolving elements, programmable super-resolution pupil filters permit the analysis of various filter designs and allow the filters to be changed rapidly to modify the response of an optical system. In this Letter, a deformable mirror is employed as a programmable super-resolution pupil phase filter. Continuous phase-only filters based on the Zernike polynomial series are designed by the genetic algorithm and fitted through closed-loop adaptive optics with a piezoelectric deformable mirror. Experimental superresolution results are in agreement with the theoretical predictions. This method has no polarization light requirement and is convenient for application.
