The severity of the hot and humid conditions to which miners are exposed increases as the depth of the work site increases.This can cause heat stress that can greatly affect the health and safety of workers.To resolve this,a cooling garment has been developed that uses an atmospheric discharge of liquid CO2 to create a cool microclimate with an average temperature of 12.5(±0.4)℃ beneath the garment.To evaluate the garment's cooling efficiency,19 male subjects participated in an experimental procedure.The two modes,cooling on and off,were compared.Significant physiological differences were found between the two modes after minute 27(pgarment to reduce heat stress in hot and humid conditions similar to those encountered in deep mines.

Purpose:The aim of the present study was to determine the effects of an upper body compression garment(UBCG)on thermoregulatory responses during cycling in a controlled laboratory thermoneutral environment(~23℃).A secondary aim was to determine the cardiovascular and perceptual responses when wearing the garment.Methods:Sixteen untrained participants(age:21.3±5.7 years;peak oxygen consumption(V02 peak):50.88±8.00 mL/min/kg;mean±SD)performed 2 cycling trials in a thermoneutral environment(~23℃)wearing either UBCG or control(Con)garment.Testing consisted of a 5-min rest on a cycle ergometer,followed by 4 bouts of cycling for 14-min at ~50%VO2 peak,with 1-min rest between each bout.At the end of these bouts there was 10-min of passive recovery.During the entire protocol rectal temperature(Trec),skin temperature(Tskin),mean body temperature(Tbody),and heat storage(HS)were measured.Heart rate(HR),VO2,pH,hematocrit(Hct),plasma electrolytes,weight loss(Wloss),and perceptual responses were also measured.Results:There were no significant differences between garments for Tskin,HS,HR,VO2,pH,Hct,plasma electrolyte concentration,Wloss,and perceptual responses during the trial.Trec did not differ between garment conditions during rest,exercise,or recovery although a greater reduction in Trec wearing UBCG(p=0.01)was observed during recovery.Lower Tbody during recovery was found when wearing UBCG(36.82℃±0.30℃ vs.36.99℃±0.24℃).Conclusion:Wearing a UBCG did not benefit thermoregulatory,cardiovascular,and perceptual responses during exercise although it was found to lower Tbody during recovery,which suggests that it could be used as a recovery tool after exercise.

This paper presents an efficient and realistic approach to seam the 2D panels together into a 3D garment mesh. Our main goal is to be able to seam any kind of panels together robotically without considering the variation of style and geometry. In particular, we are discussing difficult situations with respect to deformations and variation of sewing forces Based on the mass-spring model, two-dimensional panels are seamed together along the seams and then three-dimensional garment meshes are built. Our main contribution is that we add five pairs of sewing forces avoiding undesirable sharp folds. Our approach provides a useful design tool to create 3D garment mesh directly in the 3D space through 2D patterns. It is reasonably easy to incorporate our 3D mesh construction techniques into existing 3D graphics systems because we use standard triangular mesh structures and force-based mass-spring model for cloth animation.

A 3-Dimensional computer aided garment design (CAGD) system has been developed andimplemented on a high-performance workstation. We studied various approaches to the func-tional modelling of garment designs for the system. According to the characteristic data of a hu-man body, the models of human body and the garment are displayed on the screen, then we canmodify the garment with various styles and different sizes. The system can transform the 3-Dgarment to the 2-D pieces. The system has improved design efficiency. Various potential alterna-tives and improvement of the system have also been studied and explored.

This paper studies on fabrics suitable for child patients’garment in the hospital environment in Hong Kong,China.Subjective measurement was carried out by questionnaire survey to consult medical staff on hospital requirement about fabric criteria for child patients’ garment. On the other hand, objective measurement was conducted by performing laboratory tests on fabrics,which were sourced from commercial fabric market. Both measurements are evaluated according to the results on those fabric criteria in order to determine the most suitable kind of fabric for the end purpose. As a result of the comparison, it was found that T/C 1 scores the highest index. Therefore, it will be suggested for manufacturing child patients’ garment to evaluate the fabric suitability to meet the wearers’ requirement through hospital trial.

China’s garment exports(including garment accessories,the same below)reached USD 175.83 billion,up 24.4 percent year-on-year and 16.2 percent compared with the same period in 2019.China’s garment export has grown steadily since its entry into WTO,reaching the peak of USD 186.28 billion in 2014.With the rise of domestic costs and the shift of international procurement trend,the export has gradually decreased,and the export has decreased to USD 141.31 billion affected by the pandemic in 2020.With the recovery of external demand and the return of some orders and other favorable factors,China’s garment export again exceeded USD 170 billion in 2021,according to the statistics of China Customs.

On the base of studying the modeling technique of man-nequin and garment curved surface with non-uniform rational B-spline(NURBS),several methods of mannequin data pickup on 2D screen are proposed.A garment style creating method,which gets the key points for garment style modeling by drawing panel contour aroundthe mannequin on the screen and calculating the offset value between the body and the garment,is presented.Then 3D garment styles can be easily modeled with the key points and interactively modified.
