Due to the prevalence of fuzziness in literary works and in poetry in particular,the author puts forward the view that some skills such as rhetoric devices,abstraction,meaning manifestation,creation of imagination context are to be adopted in the translation of literary fuzziness from the perspective of aesthetic recognition to achieve an integration between the textual implication and the readers' expectation horizon.And the author takes the translation of Chinese classic poems for example,through detailed analysis and comparison,proves the feasibility of the viewpoint.

For a degradable structural system with fuzzy failure region, a moment method based on fuzzy reliability sensitivity algorithm is presented. According to the value assignment of performance function, the integral region for calculating the fuzzy failure probability is first split into a series of subregions in which the membership function values of the performance function within the fuzzy failure region can be approximated by a set of constants. The fuzzy failure probability is then transformed into a sum of products of the random failure probabilities and the approximate constants of the membership function in the subregions. Furthermore, the fuzzy reliability sensitivity analysis is transformed into a series of random reliability sensitivity analysis, and the random reliability sensitivity can be obtained by the constructed moment method. The primary advantages of the presented method include higher efficiency for implicit performance function with low and medium dimensionality and wide applicability to multiple failure modes and nonnormal basic random variables. The limitation is that the required computation effort grows exponentially with the increase of dimensionality of the basic random vari- able; hence, it is not suitable for high dimensionality problem. Compared with the available methods, the presented one is pretty competitive in the case that the dimensionality is lower than 10. The presented examples are used to verify the advantages and indicate the limitations.

In this study, quality of experience(QoE)-driven resource allocation for multi-applications in Internet Protocol(IP)-based wireless networks is studied. Considering that the mean opinion score(MOS) summation maximization problem is not fair to satisfy heterogeneous users' QoE with various mobile applications, we apply multi-objective optimization method to maximize each user's MOS utility. At the beginning of this work, the relationship between MOS utility and user transmission rate for three multimedia applications, that is, File Download, Internet Protocol Television, and Voice over Internet Protocol are discussed. However, the relations under diverse evaluation models are quite different and users in various mobile applications have different requirements, which make the optimization problem difficult to solve. To meet each user's minimum rate requirement,the idea of Nash bargaining solution is applied in the Hungarian-based subcarrier assignment problem. Then to simplify the power allocation problem, the concept of equivalent channel is introduced. Further by applying the tolerance membership function, we develop a fuzzy Max-Min decision model for generating an optimal power allocation solution. Simulation results demonstrate the satisfying characteristics of the proposed algorithm in terms of MOS utility and average data rate.

Purpose–The purpose of this paper is to deal with profit maximization problem of two-layer supply chain(SC)under fuzzy stochastic demand having finite mean and unknown variance.Buyback policy is employed from the retailer to supplier.The profit of the supplier solely depends on the order size of the retailers.However,the loss of shortage items is related to loss of profit and goodwill dependent.The authors develop the profit function separately for both the retailer and supplier,first,for a decentralized system and,second,joining them,the authors get a centralized system(CS)of decision making,in which one is giving more profit to both of them.The problem is solved analytically first,then the authors fuzzify the model and solve by fuzzy Hausdorff distance method.Design/methodology/approach–The analytical models are formed for both centralized and decentralized systems under non-cooperative and cooperative environment with suitable constraints.A significant assumption on density function,namely Cauchy-type density function,is introduced for demand rate because of its wider range of the retailers’satisfactions.Fuzzy Hausdorff metric is incorporated within the fuzzy components of the fuzzy sets itself.Using this method,the authors find out closure values of both centralized and decentralized policies,which is an essential part of any cooperative and non-cooperative two-layer SC models.Moreover,the authors take care of the profit values with corresponding ambiguities for both the systems explicitly.Findings–It is found that the centralize policy of SC could only be able to maximize the profit of both the retailers and suppliers.All analytical results are illustrated numerically along with sensitivity analysis and side by side comparative studies between Hausdorff and Euclidean distance measure are done exclusively.Research limitations/implications–The main focus of attention of the proposed model is given to usefulness of Hausdorff distance.Unlike other distances,Hausdorff distance can take special care on the similar

In this paper, firstly the current analysis methods of uncertainties in seismic hazard assessment (SHA) are systematically reviewed, and the existing problems are pointed out. At the same time, it is proposed that the uncertainties can be divided into three kinds, namely, randomness, fuzziness and incompleteness of knowledge, and they can be treated in a unified way. Then, based on marked point process theory, a general equation for SHA is obtained, and a general equation for uncertainty analysis is also given on the basis of total probability theorem. Finally, the relationship between the proposed analysis method with those currently used both at home and abroad is discussed. The analysis shows that they are just the special case of the proposed method.

Based on a large experimental sample, the influence of stress triaxiality and temperature have been studied on the growth of micro voids and the ductile/brittle transition (DBT) of 40Cr steel. Ductile and brittle fractures have been investigated simultaneously. The experiments show that the ductile fracture is controlled by the micro void mechanism,and the critical void growth ratio can be used as the criterion of ductile fracture. The brittle fracture is modeled by an embedded penny crack, and a micro stress intensity with a characteristic length can be used as the criterion of the brittle fracture. The DBT is the result of the competition of the two mechanisms. Which exists in the fracture of all specimens simultaneously. The distributions of model parameters were measured experimentally. A random model and a random-fuzzy model for DBT were presented. The comparison between the calculated and experimental results shows that the random-fuzzy model can model the DBT satisfactorily.

Both fuzzy temporal constraint and flexible resource constraint are considered in project scheduling. In order to obtain an optimal schedule, we propose a genetic algorithm integrated with concepts on fuzzy set theory as well as specialized coding and decoding mechanism. An example demonstrates that the proposed approach can assist the project managers to obtain the optimal schedule effectively and make the correct decision on skill training before a project begins.
